Thought I would pass this along to my fellow "thrifty travelers."

I LOVE a great deal... and here it is in case anyone else is trying to stretch a budget right now.

I have never stayed at the HoJo but am excited to give it a whirl after the reviews here. I am (as always) on a tight budget and called HoJo's about their Entertainment Book rate. I received a $54.00 a night room (not next to the freeway)... then I hopped on eBay and bought an Entertainment card for under $3.00 shipped. I couldn't justify spending that much money on a coupon book I would never use.

Prior to this I was considering the AAA/Travelocity deal for Peacock Suites "Stay 2 nights receive 3rd free" on their King bed suite. It would have come out to $69 a night before tax. (Still think I might miss the plasma screen tv... but I love to walk to the park!)

Get to planning!

Just curious, has anyone ever been able to get 2 connecting rooms with the Entertainment rate?

We usually stay in a suite, but would like to try the HoJo out sometime.

I actually don't remember if our rooms were connecting or adjoining, it was a few years ago but I think they were connecting, at any rate they were right together with the Entertainment rate.

Does anyone know how far out reservations with the Entertainment rate can be made at Hojos? We're going next June and are trying to figure out our dates, but we're close to pinning them down -- just wondering if I can reserve this far out.

Thanks Pirate Princess -- this thread was the kick in the pants I needed to get going on planning!

We have had connecting rooms at Hojos using the entertainment rate. We stayed in building two. Both rooms had two queen beds, but one room had a full balcony and the other had a half balcony. It's a great deal!

No, not all hotels. I there is for sure one more chain, beside HoJo, that does the Entertainment Book rate. (I think it is Hilton??? Maybe someone else can confirm)

Not sure if the Canadian version would cover U.S. hotel chains. Perhaps contact the Entertainment Book company and get their response and let the hotel staff know that the Entertainment Book people said "Yes, it will work in the U.S." and see what they say. If not, just buy a card on eBay for a couple bucks.

There are only a select number of rooms held at the "Entertainment" rate based on predicted occupancy so I would recommend booking early to have the best chance at getting this rate. However, I am not sure if there is a "too early." Best bet would be to call the hotel with the dates you are interested in and ask.
