ahoy there, I just picked up a new camera and plan to take it on our next trip in Nov. Any tips out there on getting good video? thanks:)

Does it have an infrared "night vision" mode? That might be fun on some rides. Honestly, on the rougher rides, it really isn't worth it. It just jiggles around too much. Don't swing it around trying to get every little detail, and don't sit it still facing straight forward either. Note, some rides do not allow video taping, so be sure to find out which rides are acceptable. Maybe go to Youtube and watch some videos there and see what style you like, and try to emulate it. Also, it might be more fun to video take your family from a car behind them (like on Roger Rabbit), or from the sidelines (like the Teacups).

I think for the most part they never actually tell you NO videotaping on the rides, they simply say no flash/camera lights on some of the rides (Pirates is a biggie). This makes it kinda hard to video tape, but in night vision you could take video of every ride in the park.

Just remember, even on rides it is allowed on, to consider where your light is shining and how it might be affecting the experience of the guests around you.

I actually bring up the "no cameras" because I was filming on the Orange Stinger and I guess I was twisting too much as I was moving the camera around and got repremanded.

Here's my thing. Assuming a multiple rider situation (not an individual ride) and you are holding the thing up above your head or thereabouts, then you impact the view of the person behind you. This has happened to me and it irks me. I also had this happen to me at WDW during the Beauty in the Beast show where I had to duck and look around somebody's camera who was sitting ahead of me. So I just say be respectful of how you are affecting the ride of others. And if you lose control and the thing whacks somebody on the head behind you, then be aware that you'll most likely be sued. Just a friendly reminder.
