Around March all of the friends and neighbors came back from their Disney vacations and we were living vicariously through them and trip reports just waiting our turn! We are DVC members and absolutely love going to Disney World and talking about going to Disney and reading whatever we can get our hands on!
We found a reasonable flight on Airtran that left the evening of the last day of school. I called DVC to make reservations and could not get in the BC or WL villas, our first two choices. We ended up with a 5 night stay in a studio at OKW which we had never stayed at before, and 5 in a garden view at the Poly which we love. We usually use Happy limo, but decided to rent a vehicle because of the long stay and because hubby had to fly home and back midway through for an important business meeting. We found a great deal at Dollar using a code from Mousesavers, and all arrangements were made.
June 1
We had a 7:30 pm flight, so the kids went to school, hubby went to work, and the baby and I packed up the car and got the house ready. (I can't go on vacation with a dirty house) After school we headed to Indianapolis Intl around 4:30. We ate dinner at the airport food court and bought some light reading for the plane. After a smooth flight we arrived at MCO at 9:50, and had no problems at the car rental desk. We had a grey Chryssler minivan, very clean, built in baby seat, very nice. We drive out of the garage and it is pouring rain, thunder , lightning, and continued the whole way to the resort never letting up. All three kids fall asleep on the way. We have never arrived in the eve. before, but had no trouble finding our way. I stayed in the car with TK and baby while Hubby and MJ check in. We had to drive around a little to find the room, the layout was a little confusing, and the storm didn't help. The room was nice, overlooking the quiet pool. It was nice that there are 2 queen beds in the OKW studio and not one bed and a sleeper sofa. Everyone was exhausted and we fell right to sleep after checking the weather for tomorrow 99% chance of thunderstorms, GREAT!
June 2
We walked to Olivias for our first breakfast of the trip. I had the chocolate mango toast, it was ok, hubby had standard egg and sausage type breakfast, and the kids wanted Mickey waffles (of course!) The waiter acted put out that they wanted to order from the kid menu. They just don't have adult palettes or appetites yet so I don't understand the problem.
We are not using the dining plan for this reason, Adult prices, kid appetites. Anyway, we just pay for adult waffle platters and the smug waiter also makes a big deal out of my son wanting a refil of chocolate milk jeez! We leave to get the Epcot bus and buy the baby a pluto on the way that she became inseparable from the whole trip.
It was the last day of the flower and garden show and we stopped at the entrance to admire the topiary of the characters on a pirate ship. MJ especially liked this one as she absolutely loves Stitch and he was riding a little dingy, very cute!
We grabbed Fp for soarin and rode LWL and Nemo. We took our time at the seas watching the manatees and saw Crush for the first time. It was ok, but even the kids were not excited so we will probably skip him next time. We went back to use the FP and got a rider switch pass(a very nice feature I think). Me and baby watched Circle of life while they rode and then we used the pass so the kids get to ride again with me while hubby and baby have a snack. Next we looked at some of the garden exhibits and the kids decorated little Chinese takeout boxes with seeds in them. We had lunch at the Electric umbrella which now has free drink refills. There was a beautiful butterfly garden and various playground gardens themed around fairies, etc. all very nicely done, a relaxing break. I truly enjoy this festival. We rode on the new Mexico ride which was a huge hit with baby.(I thought it was cute, but miss the old song) broused all of the countries, and when we get to France MJ says she absolutely MUST see Marie from th Aristocats. Marie left to use her litter box right when we got there and took her time getting back. We took some cute photos, MJ loves to hug the plushies! We decide to head back and get a bus back to OKW after a short wait. Once on that bus though, we pretty much had to ride through the whole place before our stop, they had a track of music playing the same songs over and over the kids and I started singing the coconut song by Harry Belafonte much to the dismay of Dad who had enough of the coconuts and by the 4 time it came on TK was doing a hilarious lip sync pantomime to it that gave us all the giggles.
After a rest in the room, we drove to the outlet mall bought some discounted pins for the kids to trade, and went to Publix to get some drinks and snacks and Breakfast foods. We decide to eat breakfast in the room as OKW just does not have good breakfast options. After a subway, we rest and watch the disney cartoon channel until everyone falls asleep.
tdelaney_98 08-31-2007, 05:02 PM Terrific start! So glad to hear of your wonderful trip! Thanks for posting

June 3
We woke up around 7 had breakfast in the room, and left for MGM. TK and Hubby like Star Wars ALOT so they really enjoy the Star Wars weekends. The storm troopers were on top of the entrance commenting on the tourists and pointing their blasters at us. Some people REALLY get into this, we saw entire familys dressed in costumes, some were neater than the paid performers. While the guys went off to buy their merchandise and do the Star Wars thing, I took the girls to the HISTK playground. We hadn't visited this the last couple of times. It was nearly deserted and the girls had fun climbing and sliding it was really nice to have MJ to follow baby through the tubes as I get claustrophobic in them. We then went to see the Muppets. I never get tired of this show. The boys met us for our PS at Prime Time for lunch. This was the first time we ate here. The wait staff was really funny, our waiter kept trying to find dates for the kids and teasing them. I had the pot roast, hubby had a chicken salad, the kids had something from the kids menu, mac n cheese or something. The waiter had fun teasing MJ about this. She is twelve, but looks to be about sixteen as she is tall and very poised. He would ask the boys at the next table if they wanted to date her, and say they wouldn't spend much because she orders off the kiddie menu. Baby had a juice with a glowing Tink on the straw. Very cute. We would probably go here again. After lunch we went to the Beauty and the Beast show. Baby knew the words and every once in a while would sing the last word of every line. It was enjoyable just to watch her watch the show. The park was getting very crowded with various jedi and the like, so it was time for a break. We took the bus back to OKW and sang the Coconut song 3 or 4 times on the way back. After a little rest we hiked to the main pool area. This can be a long walk from most of the buildings, but it was enjoyable. A dj was leading some games for the kids, and threw a bunch of prizes into the water. The 2 year old loved the HUGE sand box. We returned to the room, cleaned up and went to catch the bus to the MK. Again, the coconuts on the bus! AAAHHH! Finally we arrive at the MK and my favorite part of every vacation that first walk down Main Street! I like to take it all in and enjoy the window displays and the music and the sights! We go to Pecos Bills for dinner. We found anice table outside where we can see Splash Mountain our favorite ride. (BTW, it never did storm either day) We grabbed a FP for BTM and went on the carpets, saw the Tiki Birds and the Pirates. The two year old absolutely loved everything. She is fearless! She fell asleep in the stroller and she and dad rested by the water while we went on Big Thunder. We then went on Splash with no wait as everyone was lining up for Spectro. We had the front 2 rows of the log and had a nice ride. We even saw some of the parade while we were on the ride. We went to the Haunted Mansion next which was especially fun at night. This was the last night before it would close for the rehab so we couldn't leave without riding! Baby slept through the whole thing! As we were leaving we stopped to look at the animal graveyard and read the stones. The one about Waddles was amusing. Baby then wakes up and says "Take me to the dollies" We couldn't deny her, as she had been such a little trooper the whole time so Small World it was and again I enjoyed just watching her enjoy it. We were all getting tired and so we rode the coconut bus home and fell asleep as soon as our heads hit.
June 4
We slept in and had breakfast in the room. We headed off to the AK and grabbed a FP for the safari first thing. We then saw the Flights of Wonder show, it was pretty good, we don't usually see it. I think they changed it since last time. We then had lunch at Tusker House. I will miss this restaurant when they change it, it is a favorite of ours. We then shop in the african market across the street. MJ and I find some jewelry we love and TK wanted a rain stick. It was time for our FP and the ride had changed slightly. Wilson and the naturalist (was her name Dr. Jobson?) talked much less, and the story line about little red and big red had changed. It was nice to just enjoy the animals and not be distracted every few minutes by Wilson on the radio. After our safari, I took the kids to see Pocahontas and hubby found a nice shady spot to relax. My kids really like this show. MJ has always liked Pocahontas and has a fondness for little animals. I think it is kind of corny but when the kids get into it, just seeing them enjoy it makes me happy. We head to Dinoland after and baby falls asleep in the stroller so the kids go on Primeval Whirl while we sit by the exit ramp to wait for them. This ride is one that I just can not go on. It makes me SICK:p We had a nice rest while the kids spun around and then when they got off we went on the triceratops with thebaby who was now awake. TK always wants to play the carnival games here which I find to be an unwelcome distraction I'm just not a fan of this part of the dinoland. We quickly redirect him to the que for the Nemo musical which is filling up rather fast. What an amazing show the cast was just fabulous! I have seen many Broadway productions and the talent in this show rivaled many I've seen. The tunes were catchy and baby who loves Nemo was enthralled by the whole experience and sang "WE swim Togedder!" over and over every time we were near water the whole rest of the trip. We then had some to die for ice cream cookie sandwiches from this place in dinoland that we always managed to overlook before. They made them to order any flavor ice cream on these huge fresh cookies. OMG:D So it was time once more to get on the bus for OKW. We took a nap and decided to go to DTD for dinner and shopping. We walked to the boat dock and got on the boat that was waiting as soon as we got there. We didn't realize that the boat was headed only to Saratoga Springs and then it was going to go back to OKW:confused:What? We get off at SS and eat dinner at artists Palette which is kind of an upscale food court. Everything was good, and the kids enjoyed drawing on the easels they have on all the tables. We looked around a little and decide maybe we will try this resort sometime. Time to get on the boat. The first one that pulls up is going only to OKW and PO finally, a dtd boat arrives and we have a nice ride. TK and Dad go to the Lego store and we buy some fun things from the World of Disney. I found some popcorn bowls that I had to buy for the new theatre room in the basement and MJ really liked the little disney animals that you dress up with all these little clothes and accessories. She bought a figaro and a Marie and TK found a lego and hubby found a pin that he needed to complete one of his sets from the pin store. The boys want to forgo the boat and take the bus back because they think it will be quicker. Little did they know:~D We waited a really long time for a bus and then had to go to west side and pleasure island and wait for a switch of drivers and then ride past our bus stop to every one in OKW I think he was driving around in circles. Hubby said if we sing the Harry Belafonte song one more time he's going to go "coco nuts" Again, the baby was all love and zen just chillin and lovin the disney. We are so blessed.:)
littlej 09-05-2007, 09:36 AM Wow, I'm hanging on every word! You really are blessed, with your stormtrooper son, your statuesque daughter, coco-nutty hubby and your zen baby. Write on! I'm dreaming of taking my 16-mo-old for his first trip.
yellowrosedtxn 09-05-2007, 10:53 AM Thanks for writing your trip report! I am enjoying it all. It sounds like you had a lot of fun - coconuts and all!
CHEERMOM 09-07-2007, 10:19 AM Thanks guys for reading! Your 16 month old will have a blast! I know some say that the babys don't know whats going on, or enjoy it, but my little one still brings up our trip and points to the pictures and remembers. So, back to the report:
June 5
We woke early for the EMH at the MK Our firsr ride of the day was Pooh which we walked right on, (impossible to do later) then:
Snow White (which kept stopping at really bad parts, think, witch glaring at you over and over)
Twice on the carosel so baby wouldn't be scarred for life getting stuck by the witch.
Peter Pan,
Small World,
Philharmagic
Dumbo
By this time the park was open to the public and started to fill up. We went to Tommorrowland and grabbed FP for Space Mountain, rode Buzz with about 20 min. wait, Rode the People Mover. It was time for the FP, we didn't get a rider switch pass because hubby doesn't like SM. He thinks the restraints will not hold the kids in well enough and they will fly out and he is nervous the whole time:rolleyes: We then had lunch at Cosmic Rays. The kids like to sit where they can see Sonny. There is a song he sings about space angels that "saved his craft" it sounds like he is saying something else, and the two big kids just roll when they hear this song:p
We then waited to se the Laugh floor, this one was a first for us, and we didn't like it all that much. It's ok to do while waiting on a FP or something, but I wouldn't wait in line for this one.
We decided to just go back to the room and relax. before our PS for the Luau.
We spent some time at the quiet pool and cleaned up.
The Luau was a success, everyone enjoyed it TK ate mac n cheese because he didn't care for the other food, everyone else liked it just fine though, and the server was very nice and very accomodating. MJ got up on the stage to dance, we took some good pictures and a fun time was had by all. (I'm sure the free flowing wine didn't hurt) We were all excited to be checking in here in the morning as the Poly is our absolute favorite!
June 6
We checked out of OKW and drove over to the Poly. Hubby dropped us off and had to go to the airport for an early flight back to Indy. We were greeted by friendly CMs given leis and proceeded to the check in. We had requested Rarotonga, But the nice CM who checked us in said she had a room in FIGI that looked out on the marina that was already made up! This was an upgrade as we were only supposed to have a garden view. Did I say how much I love this resort? :D
The kids and I had breakfast at Kona: Mickey pancakes and macadamia nut pancakes delicious! We went up to our room to unpack our things. The view was gorgeous! We were still very close to the main building and pool.
We took a vote and decided on the AK for the day so the kids could spend as much time as they wanted with the animals (Dad gets impatient at the Planet Watch and rushes them)
It was cloudy so we packed our ponchos and got on the bus. (No coconuts on the Poly bus, go figure)
We grabbed FP so the kiddos could ride Everest later, MUCH later, FP was valid in 5 hrs! Baby fell asleep, so we got some terats and found a nice spot to look at the tree and spot animals. I had a really tasty frozen chai latte but it was hard to drink it w/o a straw!
Baby woke up and had some of TKs popcorn, and we got on the train. I wish there was more to see on the ride, but oh well. We watched a bird have a surgery, looked at all the creepy crawlies, pet the goats, took pictures with Rafiki and Pocahontas (Whom MJ loves, she is always told she resembles her)
The kids like to sit in the tree for the rainforest show, so we did that:rolleyes:
We took the train back and went on the Gorilla trail. They were in rare form today, I had never seen them so playful.
We found a spot for the parade, which we usually miss. These people, all adults, 5 of them, walk around the kids, and stand directly in front of them, leaning on the stroller and more or less elbowing in front! I just don't understand some people. They did not speak English, and so I did not even bother, not that it would do any good, to say anything I just said "lets see if we can find somewhere bettter" MJ says I am entirely too polite, but I won't ruin the day over someone elses rudeness.
We went to Pizzafari for lunch. This is one of our favorite counter places.
MJ wanted to see Pocahontas show, so we headed over there. It started to drizzle and Camp MM was nearly deserted. We visited all of the characters with no wait. Baby was a big ham and kissed Donald all over the face! The show was cancelled due to rain so we headed over to the bug show baby didn't wear the glasses, I was hesitant to take her as there are always sevreral children screaming and being carried out, but she did fine. When we were leaving she said "I no like stinky bugs" At this point the rain is coming down in buckets so we do some shopping hoping it will let up so the kids can use their Fp. It never does, so we run to the bus stop and get soaked even through the ponchos because of the way it is blowing. We dry off and relax in the room for awhile and head to Captain Cooks for dinner. The dining plan just frustrates the heck out of me as it takes so long to get through the line because every person in front of me doesn't understand the plan and has to run back to get something or argue with the poor CM about what should be included. RESEARCH PEOPLE! After dinner the kids had fun in the arcade. We all became addicted to a Pirates of the Carribean pinball game. (We weren't the only ones, throughout the trip we saw several people spending a lot of quarters there) We went back to the room and watched the Light Parade on the lagoon from the window, and watched some cartoons and fell asleep. I was worried about how the day would go without hubby, but all went well.:)
yellowrosedtxn 09-07-2007, 10:30 AM I love your trip report.
But I have a question, is this really from 1997? or is it 2007?
CHEERMOM 09-10-2007, 08:19 AM :rolleyes:OMG! I'm in a time warp! You are right! It's 2007! You know, it's scary, I'm like the mom in that song, only instead of living in the 80s I'm stuck in the 90s!
CHEERMOM 09-10-2007, 09:28 AM June 7, 2007! (Thanks, Shelley!)
THE BAD BAD HORRIBLE AWFUL DAY!
The plan for today was to go to emh at the MK with the kiddos and hubby would meet us at Liberty Tree for our 1:00 ps.
Well, we woke up and ate some muffinsand fruit we purchased the night before. MJ says "mom, I feel sick" :(This is not like her. We call her tour guide Barbie, because she is up and at em bright and early leading us through the park 3 ft ahead and we follow the glorious long ponytail like a flag to the next destination!
She says maybe she should lay back down, so every time she tries to get back up she goes oouu! and lies back down. I call Hubby who is waiting for his plane and tell him to never mind the lunch, just meet us at the hotel. He says there is something wrong with his back. It didn't feel right after Star Tours, (He didn't tell us,) and then he thinks the safari just did it in, and it was just getting worse by the day, but he took some meds and is going to be ok. :( So we just rest , and when he arrives I went with the two littler kids for a walk to get something for MJs head and tummy. When we get back, hubby is in the hall talking to the housekeeper and I hear himsay "My daughter threw up in the bed:(" so I stay in the room with her, because she feels dizzy when she gets up and can't leave the bed, and the rest leave. They quickly clean up and replace the bedding accidentally taking her favorite stuffed animal. The others come back and hubby says he needs to lay down, his back is so sore. So I take TK and the baby to the pool. We are there maybe an hour, I was sitting on the beach with baby scooping sand into her bucket, when all of a sudden I hear AAAAAHH! and all these kids including TK come running out of the pool. I asked him what happened and he says"There is a big turd floating in the pool we have to stay out until the lifeguard gets it out" no kidding. So we leave the pool and see some poor child being screamed at by both parents for pooping in the pool and ruining everyones vacation! When we get back to the room everyone is asleep, including baby who fell asleep on the way back. So TK and I just relax and read/play psp for awhile.
When all wake up, MJ who still looks pale, says she would like to go outside for a while, so we sit on the beach outside our building and listen to the music from the first showing of the luau, which was enjoyable. We picked up some take out from Captain Cooks and took it back to the room. We watched cartoons and went to bed early MJ was still puny looking, but ate, and seemed in better spirits.
June 8
We had a ps for ohana in the morning. MJ was perfectly fine. on the way there we saw the pool was full of happy swimmers and the offending turd removed. and all was right with the world. We had to wait a long time for a table even with a ps (45 min!) but we saw some friends from home and chit chatted for a while. This is the kids favorite breakfast! They LOVE Stitch. MJ wore all of her Stitch pins and hat and shirt and got all kinds of hugs and kisses and attention from him and jeers and thumbs down from the other characters. Baby loved Pluto! TK is just a good sport and poses for the pictures but doesn't get into it like the girls. After breakfast we hop on the monorail for the MK We went on the Jungle cruise, and the pirates, then hubby says his back hurts, he needs to take something and lie down. So he takes baby and they go back, with plans for us to meet them at the Poly marina at 2 to rent a boat. We grabbed a fp for TM and stood in standby for splash which had no fp the whole time as they were doing something to the machines. We decided to all put our hands up for the picture, it was cute. Tk chickened out at the last second. We shopped for a while in the Briar Patch and bought some gibbets for our crocs. and went on TM. We walked over to Columbia Harbor for lunch, and found a nice table upstairs by a window. No one else was up there. It was kind of spooky. We were on the side facing toward Frontierland, and when the afternoon parade went by, we could see it perfectly from our air conditioned seats at our private luncheon! The kiddos wanted to go on Stitch, but we didn't have time so we took the boat back, and it pulled up to the pier just as baby and hubby were walking down to the boat rental. We rented a big pontoon and it was a blast! I highly recomend doing this! We rode past the other MK resorts, and got some great pictures. We stopped for a while near the old Discovery Island, to see if we could spot any alligators, as TK said he heard it is overrun with them lol We didn't see any, but saw a ton of interesting looking birds. they just covered the trees. The sky started getting dark, and a cm rode over and we thought maybe we were in trouble for stopping there, but he said we needed to head back because a storm was coming. We drove back and had a rest in the room while MJ showed us the pictures on the camera. We decided we wanted to see illuminations tonight. Hubby said he felt ok, so we walked to ttc and got on the monorail to Epcot. When we got to the turnstiles he was hurting again, I told him to rent a wheelchair or scooter, but he wouldn't. We went to the ice station and went to the fountains by JIYI the kids played while he had a seat. we walked over to Mexico and baby yelled Donald! She remembered! So I took the kids in for a ride. We found some neat jewelry in there. We got a table outside to eat at the cantina and have a margarita while we watch illuminations the show was good as always. We took the monorail home and all were fast asleep moments later.
tdelaney_98 09-10-2007, 07:25 PM Awww, bummer! Do you think she ate something bad? The fact that it was gone in 24 hrs makes me think it was a touch of food poisoning.....
I'm still glad you're telling us the bad with the good--It all paints a picture!
CHEERMOM 09-11-2007, 08:36 AM June 9
This morning we slept in and had breakfast at Captain Cooks. A lot of people were using their dining plan and arguing with the cms about what is included, and holding up the line. that has been a problem this whole trip, the counter service places take much longer now to get through the line because of the dining plan. We found a nice table outside with a view of the lagoon and the castle. You can't ask for better than that, eating tonga toast and looking at the beautifully landscaped Polynesian. We swam and played on the beach. After we cleaned up all were ready for a nap except MJ and I, so we hopped on the MGM bus with plans to meet the rest of the family there later. TOT had a posted 20 min wait, so we got in line. neither of us has ridden it for a few years, so the anticipation was building. We had a good ride and the people in line were very entertaining as well. We had a picture taken in front of the TOT by one of the photographers. We then grabbed a FP for the next Indiana Jones show and had lunch at the Backlot Express at an outdoor table where we could watch the parade. The food really wasn't very good, but it was a good parade spot, not many people were watching from there.
The IJ show was entertaining as always, and after we decided to go to the animation class. MJ is an artist and really enjoys this more than anything else at MGM! We drew Mickey and he came out pretty well for both of us. My cell phone started ringing during the class and I felt awful because it really annoys me when other people do that! It was the rest of the family at the gate wanting to meet up with us. We took baby to see playhouse disney. She loved it! I'm really sad that Bear isn't on the Disney channel anymore. We saw the Little Mermaid after that, and some kid threw up in the indoor waiting area. Imagine being packed like sardines in that little room with that smell:p I guess it must have been going around. TK wanted to draw, so we went to the class again, and made a donald this time. We debated on whether or not to see the first showing of Fantasmic and decided against it since we hadn't eaten dinner yet. We watched the Muppets and had dinner at Pizza Planet. We went on the Great Movie Ride after that and the ride broke in the alien room and some guy came and literally pushed the vehicle along. We walked to the theatre for the 2nd Fantasmic and it really was not very crowded .20min. before the show we got a decent seat! I didn't think we would since we were stuck in that ride wasting precious time, and the baby never was scared of it, sitting there waiting in the dark with an alien go figure. After the show we walk out to the lot and had a nice surprise, hubby drove there and so we didn't have to wait in the long line for the bus!
June 10
We ate at Captain Cooks again and took the monorail to Epcot. We rode on Figment. I know a lot of people that skip this one, but we enjoy it, especially the song,it just takes me back. We emailed funny pictures to Grandma and headed over to Worls Showcase for lunch. Everyone had a different idea of what they would like, so we stopped in Canada and picked up Mcdonalds for TK and baby:confused: I got the fish and chips from the UK, and hubby and mj had baguette sandwiches from France. we ate outside, and baby had to go potty. We went looking for one, I thoughtI knew where all the restrooms were in all of Disney World, but no one has ever needed to go in France. So after walking all around I ask a cm who said we neede to go to Morocco! It was a miracle she madeit(Did I ever say what a zen baby we have?)On the way back we ran into Belle. she must have just come back from her break,(wonder if she has to leave France to pee too?) This was a treat as we never really see her because her line of admirers is always so long. She spent a lot of time talking to baby and posing for pictures before anyone realized she was there. We made it back to the family who thought she must have fell in or something and sat in the nice cool theatre to watch the French movie. We browsed the shops and found some beautiful glass rings in Italy and had a yummy chocolate dipped cannoli. Then the skys opened up and it just poured as I have never seen it before. (We visit often and are used to the weather but this was just a whole different rain storm.) We make it to mouse gear and shop for the better part of an hour and still no change even slighly in the amount of blowing rain. We ran under the walkway into Electric Umbrella to use restrooms and still get soaked as it was blowing sideways. We went through into Innoventions which was packed with people trying to stay dry and the water falling off everyone made huge puddles all over the place. The kiddos saw a few exhibits and after an hour in there hubby said he was claustrophobic and neede to go. We ran to the monrail station and they said it would be closed for the duration of the day due to some hail damage, and there would be a bus for the resorts that rely on the monorail. so we hike it to the stop and there are puddles in all the seats and all are wet and miserable inside the bus. It dropped everyone off at the TTC and lo and behold we get there and it is barely damp outsideand sunny. What? We dried off back at the room and decide to just get something from Cooks for dinner. The kids used up the rest of the arcade card playing pinball and we found a nice spot on the beach to watch the light parade on the water, and wishes. I actually like thw view of wishes from across the water from the Poly better than watching it from the MK. Everyone is so relaxed. No one pushing or standing in front of little kids to get a better view. We swing in the hammock and watch the castle change colors for a while then go back to the room to pack up and go to bed.
June 11
We checked out bright and early and put our the luggage in the car. We took the monorail to the MK and saw all of the Fantasyland rides except Peter Pan which had a long line so we grabbed a fp We went on Stitch had lunch at the Harbor House and used our fp. It was time to go and we were glad Peter Pan was our last ride as it is a favorite and the baby says really cute things when we ride it. We made it to the airport and throuhg security no problem but then had to wait 2 hrs at the gate because of a pop up storm.
In Conclusion:
Despite some vomit, torrential rains, and a turd in the pool a wonderful time was had by all. Where else can a "cool cheerleader" run around in stitch ears hugging plushies, a work-aholic wear a flower lei around his neck and sing about coconuts, a baby talk about princesses like they are her best friends and not be imagining it, and a laid back boy scream his head off hurtling down a waterfall? It's just pure Disney magic!

Thats kinda what we were thinking too, I'm just not sure what it could have been though, mostly we had the same food, bad milk is the only thing I can come up with, or maybe utensils, ugh, I just don't want to go there.
littlej 09-11-2007, 11:43 AM I saw this book and thought of your DD2: Zen Baby (http://www.booksamillion.com/bam/covers/0/60/961/095/0609610953.jpg) :D
Great report! I loved every word. I'm so glad MJ's stomach thing was short lived. I had to endure a week at WDW with a stomach thing (I think it was severe vertigo) and could not get out of bed, literally, for 4 days. It ruined the trip for me and my family.

That's so funny! (the book not the horrible vertigo vacation) Three months since our vacation and the lil one we always called zen baby is now referred to as wild woman! Should make for an interesting report next trip! I hope you have a lovely time at the WL! Whispering Canyon is a lot of fun!
WDW heart 09-12-2007, 06:02 PM :D I thought you were just getting around to writing your report from 10 years ago! :p
Sounds like a great trip!!
CHEERMOM 09-13-2007, 12:15 PM I think it's actually just been 10 years since i've slept! lol
kassandrasmom 09-13-2007, 12:45 PM Loved the report! Very funny. Turd in the pool made me spit out my coffee! My SIL was that mom at our local pool a few years back! Too funny, we still laugh about it!
Great writing, no wonder it took ten years to pen it:p! I'm glad you had such a great time, and the you have such zen kids, not just baby, but kids imo.

littlej 09-14-2007, 08:04 AM This is where I got mine. http://mousepad.mouseplanet.com/showthread.php?p=1093434#post1093434
Do you have another trip coming up? I can't wait to read that report!
anniedg 09-16-2007, 09:12 AM Thanks for the great report!! Sorry about the lost day, but seems like the Poly is a great place to be if you have to lie low for a day. And it seems like you all took it in stride with good attitudes, not that easy to do! Also thought watching the parade from Columbia Harbour House was a great idea, I'm gonna try to remember that. I SO agree with you about taking a baby. We've taken kids from 4 mos. to 22years and everything in between and all work!
Thanks again -- it was a lot of fun to read.
CHEERMOM 09-21-2007, 03:41 PM You're so sweet, thank you! It was a nice surprise to see the parade from the Harbor House, but definitely an obstructed view, nice if you're having lunch anyway but not prime parade watching spot. You were so right about the Poly being a good place to take it easy!
EJ4Disney 09-28-2007, 11:15 AM Thanks so much for sharing. It made me laugh.
You have a wonderful family - YES - you are blessed.
