View Full Version : October Trip Maybe
steamboatpookster 08-27-2007, 12:23 PM Thanks to the person that posted the address of corporate where complaints are lodged. I sent them a four page letter detailing our debacle from last month and I received a nice phone call from a woman in corporate. She is sending my wife and I a couple of four day hoppers to make up for all the mishaps.
We had no plans on returning until Christmas of 2008, but I really want to go the first week of October so I can enjoy the International Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT. There is a really good package deal going on right now and I can have a room at Pop Century with a one day base ticket added on for the wife and I for a grand total of $421. That's for five nights. Not too shabby.
I think a garage sale is in order!
kassandrasmom 08-27-2007, 12:28 PM Yay George and Ashley! I'm glad to hear that things worked out in your favour! I am a firm believer in karma, and from what I know of you two, you are two of the most beautiful people ever. You deserve this trip. Enjoy the Food and Wine Festival!
Good luck with the garage sale!

Awww, thanks Kim--that is very sweet. I knew deep down that Disney would offer us something--it's good business. My wife thought otherwise. Now she owes me! She lost the bet! HA!
It's funny how angry I was when I returned and wrote that trip report. I had "had it with Disney!" Now, I miss it. Lord have mercy.
anniedg 08-27-2007, 01:22 PM That's great! Now your (and our ;)) faith is restored. Seriously, I had really hoped Disney would make it right. Some of the stuff you had to put up with was inexcuseable, and of all trips, when you were making dreams come true for the girls.
How fun -- have a fantastic time!

I won't ask what she owes you. ;) Whether it is a foot massage or a year of listening to "I told you so," she wins too - she gets to go back to Disney!
Oh, yup, it was quite evident in your trip report that you were a little distressed at your mistreatment. And I don't think a person that read your report would think it was unjust. Especially due to the purpose of that trip. As Annie said, it has renewed our faith!
Congrats again!
SuefromRI 08-27-2007, 07:25 PM Glad to hear that you did write a complaint. (I was one who encouraged you to do so after reading your report). One bad incident on a trip might be excusable, but what you experienced went beyond what a guest should have to put up with. Also happy that you got a response and compensation. Too bad no one tried to offer help during the trip to show the girls how great WDW cast can and should be. No one deserves a trip to WDW more than you 2! Go for it and have a fun and relaxing time.
tdelaney_98 08-27-2007, 09:02 PM Aw, George, you're a pathetic softie!:) I knew you couldn't stay mad forever. Did you see Jerry Maguire? Disney, you had me at free park tickets!
I'm glad you're able to squeeze another trip in. We're all waiting for another terrific trip report on the flip side!
steamboatpookster 08-28-2007, 06:30 AM We're booked for Pop Century from October 1-6. Woohoo! We are doing the DDP--never have before. Now I gotta figure out where we are gonna be and make ressies. OYE!

So glad to hear it! Leave all the negatives from the last trip behind and start fresh. Have fun, but take enough notes to write a trip report.
steamboatpookster 09-05-2007, 07:41 AM Made our ADR's without a hitch. Here are the tentative plans as follows:
Oct 1--Momma Melrose at MGM (never been)
Oct 2--Boma at AKL (been once, found it OK)
Oct 3--Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch at MK (never been)
Oct 4--Chefs de France at EPCOT (fantastic French onion soup)
Oct 5--The Biergarten for my wife's birthday (we got there on every trip!)
This is the first time we've use the DDP. I was a bit weary of it, so I am interested to see how much money we actually save. We usually eat counter-service the whole time, and maybe two expensive meals at EPCOT--one of which is usually lunch at the Biergarten. Our room and DDP was @ $750 for five nights. Not too shabby. Now I just gotta come up with gas money! HA!
anniedg 09-05-2007, 08:14 AM Sounds great -- we're like you, generally do CS with a TS or two thrown in and have never done DDP. I'll be interested to hear what you think. Nice you're getting the DDP in now before all the changes.
$750 ... not bad!!
kassandrasmom 09-05-2007, 09:41 AM I agree with Annie, not bad at all!!
I'm glad to hear you are a return customer for Biergarten. That is one of our first ressies when we go for our Jan/Feb trip. It looks like so much fun!
As for gas money - did you have your garage sale yet?

Either this weekend or next weekend--depending on the weather! We've had extreme drought here in Tennessee and we are expecting rain this weekend from the hurricane moving through Central America.
petesimac 09-05-2007, 12:52 PM I'm so jealous! Have a fantastic time. Have you done Pop before? I can't remember. We loved it. I applaud your dining choices; I'm salivating as I type this!

Yes, we've stayed at PC six or seven times now. I think we stayed there this past March. I prefer AKL, but the budget doesn't allow it!
dawz1026 09-06-2007, 11:08 AM Do you still have the address to Coprorate? I was told to mail a letter to the Hotel Manager and we never heard a word....

I'll have to look for it--someone posted it on the boards here last month. I'll try and find it when I get home so that I can forward it to you.
