View Full Version : Character Breakfast. If you are going to Studios and/or Epcot, Cape May Cafe is also a great choice. There is also a char breakfast at Ohana, at the Poly, and I think they have Lilo and Stitch there, but someone would have to confirm as I have not been there for that one. For additional input, you may want to do a search on this topic as Character Dining comes up quite often. PensFan87 08-27-2007, 10:42 AM We went to the character breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the GF and really liked it. The strawberry soup alone was worth it! They had Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, Pooh, and Tigger. We ate there on our last day, which was a nice relzxing way to end our trip. While not at a resort, we also had breakfast at the Crystal Palace (Pooh and Friends) in Magic Kingdom. It was also very enjoyable. We got an 8 am reservation and were able to enter the park early, eat, and be on hand for opening, and were the second people in line for Splash Mountain that day. Have fun! WDW07 08-27-2007, 12:10 PM We always enjoy the breakfast at Cape May Cafe (BC). The selection is great and the characters take their time with each table. Since we usually stay at the BC, we save this breakfast for our last day, but it's also a convenient location if you plan on going to Epcot that morning. You could enjoy the breakfast and then walk to the park, as it's only a 5 minute walk. kassandrasmom 08-27-2007, 12:14 PM What characters are at Cape May Cafe? GusMan 08-27-2007, 12:52 PM What characters are at Cape May Cafe? Usually: Minnie Goofy Chip and Dale. (At least that is who was there the other week... :) ) frdeb1999 08-27-2007, 03:02 PM 'Ohana breakfast at Poly is great. We always do it. They have Lilo, Stich, Pluto and mickey. The food and atmosphere are great and it's alot of fun. tdelaney_98 08-27-2007, 08:53 PM I like Liberty Tree Tavern in MK ! jbird327 08-28-2007, 07:28 AM I like the breakfast at Ohana's, mostly because it is not a buffet. If you are there early (7:30-8:00) it can be very empty, leaving a lot of time for the characters to spend at your table. fruto76 08-28-2007, 12:55 PM we really enjoyed Chef Mickey's a couple years back, we will be trying Crystal Palace on our upcoming trip. I say they are definately worth it! Kwahati 08-28-2007, 02:48 PM You know, there's a lot of discussion about this so I thought I'd ask: I always did character breakfasts with my family when I was little and I think they're great. I wanted to take my new "family" to a character meal, but we're not really breakfast people anymore. Are the character dinners worthwhile? I'm not looking for it to be too gourmet, but is it pretty good and is the food at least hot? (Generally I hate buffets: if you keep food hot, it keeps cooking and becomes over-done. If you try to avoid that, you serve cold food. Is Disney any good at this delicate balancing act?) I've got a reservation at Crystal Palace, but if anyone thinks that's a mistake and there's a character meal that's more worthwhile (preferably one that's only one DDP credit), I'd love any insight! Thanks, in advance, for your help everyone! kluvsdisney 08-28-2007, 04:22 PM Our fav resort character dinner was by far Chef Mickey's at the Contemp. Very fun and I really liked the buffet. I am NOT a huge fan of buffets in general, but I thought this one had some nice selections and the character attn was great! Our entire family's overall char dinner favorite was Liberty Tree Tavern. Wonderful character attention, neat atmosphere, and good food. Food is served family style, so it was good for our little ones as they could eat as much as they wanted but we did not have to constantly walk them through a buffet line. The Pricess character dinners at Cinderella's Castle and the Akershus Castle (Norway, Epcot) were also very fun. The breakfast at Cind's Castle was wonderful. Akershus lunch was so so but there were lots of princesses on hand. GusMan 08-28-2007, 06:53 PM Are the character dinners worthwhile? Thanks, in advance, for your help everyone! Are they worthwhile? If you are going mainly for the characters, getting their pictures and autographs, sure. In most places, the food is good to very good but at the same time, if you are not breakfast eaters, or more like dinner eaters, then you may want to consider a character dinner. Crystal Palace is one of our faves, and I think it is a good choice. At the same time, the only character meal that I know of that is two credits is Cindy's Royal Table. So if you are looking for 1-credit character meals, you should be safe nearly anywhere you look. vamassey 08-30-2007, 02:34 PM We did several Character Meals this last trip. My youngest has decided she doesn't want to take time out for characters anymore. She would rather ride rides. So the only characters she would take time for was at these meals. We did Crystal Palace for dinner, Chef Mickey's for dinner, Princess Storybook for breakfast and Garden Grill for dinner. Loved Princess Storybook for breakfast and Garden Grill had the best tasting food for a dinner. The buffet dinners all seemed the same but Garden Grill's Family style really stood out and tasted so much better. Also the character interaction was great, they came around several times, everywhere else felt rushed. This may be the only way I will get pictures of my kids with characters since they won't do it anyother way now. Since I scrapbook getting pictures with characters is a must! If you're going in 4 weeks, you should call the dining line asap and just ask what's LEFT. That may fix your "where to go" question. Believe it or not, those slots get "eaten" (HA!-pun intended) up very quickly. Are you there during free dining? If so, your pickins might even be fewer. Let us know how it goes! efoxx 09-03-2007, 09:25 AM I like the breakfast at Ohana's, mostly because it is not a buffet.
