Hello,

I am new to mouse planet. I have been to wdw several times but never stayed on property. I made my reservation back in april at GF for the club std sugar loaf building 9/12 - 9/16. I had also added 2 days afterward but ended up having to book a different room, because they told me then that the additional dates 9/17 & 9/18 were not availiable for sugar loaf. Now I saw the posting on this site & a few others that sugar loaf will be closed for sept. I called disney & they denied this, I also call gf directly, was put on hold for a few minutes and then was told she would switch me to reservations. They then admitted to minor refurbishment being done which would be during the day, saying sugar loaf will not be closed. When I had made these calls I had only seen it on one site, not mouse planet, so I thought perhaps that is was a mistake. My question is - is there any one else in this same situation now or has anyone dealt with this in the past? Do I try changing my reservation now, or do I wait until I am there to see where I will be staying or upgraded to? I have checked disneys site and it appears that gf is completely booked for these dates. I will be going with my daughter who is 26, and this was supposed to be a special trip for us, as we both have always wanted to stay at the gf.
Thanks for any help.

I wouldn't worry about it. They won't do something to ruin your stay like putting you in a room right next to one undergoing heavy construction. My guess is either that they'll move the Sugar Loaf concierge services to another building during that time or they'll upgrade you to main building concierge (which offers superior refreshments anyway).

Rest assured, your special trip will absolutely be magical.

Thanks Iceman for your input, a friend just told me the same, that they would probably upgrade me. I was a little worried since the gf is supposedly booked up, as I said we were so looking forward to this trip and this is our first time on property. I feel a little better now. Thanks for you help.

Don't go in expecting and upgrade, because then you could be disappointed and start things off on the wrong foot. Just know that Disney will take care of you, one way or another. I don't want you to get your hopes up, then have something else happen that would be wonderful except that it doesn't live up to what you've built up in your mind. Make sense?

That makes sense. As long as its something equal to what I had booked I will be happy. And I do have the 2 days in a magic kingdom view room at the gf that I had added afterwards back in april, so it should be nice.
Thanks again.
