When we made our reservations, the cast member told me we could make our dining reservations 180 days in advance + 10-what does that mean?
Sorry if that is a stupid question and that I didn't think to ask him what he meant when I was on the phone with him!!
Thanks.

It's a (confusing) benefit of staying on site.
Normally, anyone can make their ADRs 180 days before the day of the restaurant visit. With the +10, if you're staying on site, you can make one call at 180 days before your arrival, and make reservations for 10 days going forward.
So if you're staying off site - you have to call 180 days before day 1, and 180 days before day 2, and 180 days before day 3, etc.
But if you're staying on site, you can make one call at 180 days before day 1 and make ALL your ADRs (assuming your trip is less than 10 days long.) There are a couple locations that stick to the 180 day rule, but the CM will tell you of those exceptions when you try to book them.
I've also heard of people staying longer than 10 days but still being able to make all their ADRs at once -I think that might be at the discetion of the CM, though.

Thanks. We are staying on site at the Pop resort. We have a party of 5, my 2 kids with me and then my best friend and her sister. When I call, can I make the reservations for all of us with my credit card (I think u have to have one right?), or will they take more than one credit card at the time the reservations are made?
Does that matter at all? We are using the Deluxe Dining Plan, so does the credit card even matter?

Most places don't require a credit card - exceptions are things like Cindy's - but if you're on the dining plan, then they shouldn't charge it unless you're a no-show.
For those not on the dining plan, I think the only things they charge the card at the time are some of the dinner shows (like the Luau and Hoop De Doo). If you 'trust' the rest of the party enough is just have them pay you for it, or put that much more towards the other shared expenses.

Fantasmic is a pay in advance but I don't recall if it was a deposit or the full amount. I called at 180 days and booked reservations for a 14 day trip. Excellent cast member may have taken pity on me as calling from UK?

I'm not on the dining plan and had to pay for Cindy's when I made my reservation this week. They did say that I could cancel it up to 24 hours before and I would have the amount credited back. Combine my Cindy's with my Hoop Dee Doo, and my Cirque tickets, and I've already paid quite a bit up front. I keep telling myself it will make it seem like I've spent less when I actually get there, kind of spreading out the cost.

It should be noted for any newbies reading that this refers to the Fantasmic! dining option, where you eat at one of the D/MGM restaurants and then get reserved seating for that evening's F! show (there's no charge for the show itself!).
It should also be noted that to take advantage of the 180 +10 you actually have to have a paid room reservation. I usually wait till the AP discounts are announced, which means that when I booked my dining for this December's trip, I had to do it one day at a time. Something of a pain, but still much better than waiting and not getting the meal times of your choice.
With the popularity of the Disney Dining Plan, it's become much more important to book right at the 180 days out. A couple times this year I called in the afternoon, only to find out that the time of my choice at a particular restaurant was already sold out! It's great for Disney, but really bad for the regular customer who wants to book a meal at a reasonable time, like a week out or even same day. It's just not possible any more. With the many bad comments on the DDP changes, I'm kinda hoping it'll just go away in the near future.
