Hello,
I'm taking my 5 1/2 month old to Disneyland for the first time next week. He weighs about 14 - 15lbs and I am wondering if he is too young to be in the strollers that Disneyland rent. He can hold his head up just fine and is average length for his age. Can I rent a stroller or should I use his stroller from home that is a graco snap and go. -The Kind with the baby in his car seat facing me? Also how much do the strollers cost? Thanks so much!

It's a jogging stroller. Personally, I think a 5.5 mo/old is a little young for that style of stroller and the baby would probably be a lot more comfortable in his own stroller.
If you don't want to "drag" your stroller, you might consider using a baby sling like a Baby Bjorn but you won't have the stroller to help carry your diaper bag.

They only have one position, no reclining, and I think would be pretty uncomfortable for a baby that young. One thing you could try is to buy one of the positioner pillows, mine is called a Snuzzler I think, that has a pillow around the baby's head and body to keep him in place. That would also help fill in the seat so the seatbelt is not so huge.

Thank you both for your input! I'm so thankful to be able to ask other parents who love Disneyland and their children for advice. I'm really looking forword to our trip and I'll give a trip report when I get back.:D

Nobody mentioned the cost...Last I checked strollers were $12; free if you have a Disney Visa card (just flash it) You could also use the baby carrier and the stroller just as place to stash your stuff ;)

my 5.5 month old can sit fully on his own and has been able to for weeks now, thus has wonderful head control and i wouldnt have put him in the DLR stroller. he would have been lost in it, they are pretty big and actually i found it much easier to just bring our own, plus i was able to recline it if he feel asleep and the best part was that way it was easier to find when we had to ditch it to go on rides.

I've done Disneyland with our own stroller a LOT.
My suggestion - head for the Timon parking lot, off of Harbor Boulevard. (If you're coming from the north, this means ignoring the normal signs for Disneyland.)
If you park at Timon, you don't have to deal with elevators & escalators. Plus it's a shorter walk to the park entrance than from Mickey & Friends, so skip the tram. It's just a lot easier to toss everything under the stroller and walk, instead of trying to carry a stroller, a baby, and a diaper bag onto the tram.
Have a great trip! We were astounded at how into Disneyland our son was at 6 months.

With no recline, I really think your baby will be more comfortable in your own stroller.

My feeling is that you wouldn't dream of sacrificing your own comfort for the sake of convenience while spending a day in the park. So I would apply the same logic to your infant. In the long run he is going to be much happier if he is comfortable allowing you both to enjoy the day a lot more. He is going to be spending a lot of time in the stroller throughout the day, might as well let him travel in comfort.
