I think they only allot a certain number of rooms at the AP4 rate and once those are booked, you have to settle for the regular 10% AP discount if they have that available. We booked the week of Thanksgiving because that's all they had available and couldn't get the rate at all at either of the 3 hotels. We called back this weekend and were able to get the AP4 rate for 3 of the days and nearly 100 dollars less than the original quote. However, the rest of the days (because of the holiday) were going to be a lot more than originally quoted because of the holiday and they were treating it as a seperate transaction (like we'd checkout-check back in again) so ultimately we stuck with our original reservation because it ended up being more expensive with the rate for just 3 days.

People might cancel though so you should keep trying.:)

My update is that I did manage to get AP4 rates for this weekend (9/7 to 9/9). $106 dollars off the rack per night. I'm well pleased.

I am beyond annoyed at the moment and was wondering if anyone here could confirm prices so I know if I am being lied to/not worked with. I got the AP4 Rate for the Cong. level theme park view room at the GCH next month. Disneyland put the wrong dates on my confirmation 18-20 not 17-19 (not a big deal) I have been trying to add the 17th with or with out a break in price, just so I don't have to change rooms. I was told that the 279 was only for a standard view with cong service when I just called back. I am less then thrilled. That is not what I was told when I booked it, and now they are saying there is nothing left to work with it, and if I changed views I would be charged 570 a night. Any one have some advice on where to turn next, or is it a lost cause.

Thank you. It does and yet doesn't help. At the same time I got that room, I got a standard room at the GCH for my mother who always comes along for 199 a night. I can't see what really is worth the 80 extra dollars. I drink a lot of soda, but not that much!

You do get a lot of food with the service.
They serve a continental breakfast, Tea time they serve tea sandwiches, scones, cookies, fruit, chocolate covered strawberries. Happy hour they serve fruit, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, hot appetizer, beer, wine. Then for dessert they have cookies, mickey shaped macaroons and lots of other desserts that change every night. They also serve cordiels at the dessert time. When we stayed there, we hardly bought any other food. We ate enough of the food so we were pretty full!
Have a good time.

We paid $279 concierge courtyard view three weeks ago. It was definitely worth the $80 to us for the food, beer, wine, drinks, etc. Especially because the whole time we were there we spent maybe $35 in food outside from using the lounge. The only reason we did that is because we were in the park and wanted to try some new places.

Not to sound judgemental...is there more to it then beer and wine? Is there services worth it? I already have my meals planned out in the park.

I really think it all depends on what it is worth to you...They can make PS's for you for restaurants, you can rent DVD's, watch the fireworks from the lounge (which was great). For $80 extra a day it was worth it to us. Would I pay more than that, no. I also wanted to try it and it was feasible to do so getting the AP4 rate. If I was staying at PP or DLH since their lounges close earlier (from what I have read on the boards), I would not pay for concierge at those hotels.

I agree about it being worth it. And they have more than beer and wine. We saw (morning and evenings are the only times we were there): cereal, juice, pastries, fruit, tasty sweets (like rice crispy bars), bagels, coffee, hot water and tea bags/hot chocolate mix, and a refrigerator full of juice boxes (apple), bottled water and soda. Also, they brought my son milk when we asked for it.

Oh, I almost forgot my son's favorite: Uncrustables.

Plus, when I lost my charge slip between the concierge lounge and the monorail entrance, they printed me up a new one and we didn't have to go all the way to the front desk! And the DLH has an elevator from the 11th floor lounge directly to the ground floor. Very nice when it's crowded so you don't have to stop at every floor and then the elevator is full.

When we stayed at the GCH they told us you can always ask for milk, yogurt or banana's whenever you want. They also made my daughter a PB&J sandwhich everyday for lunch. They made it for lunch, it wasn't the uncrustables. The CM's really got into it becuase they knew we would always come by for tea time and they got so they had a contest to see who made the best PB&J and my daughter was the judge! It was a lot of fun.

Yes, indeed, milk. Sometimes in little bottles (with caps you could put back on!) and once in a cup with a lid (like for coffee). :)

And we're with ya on the high consumption of milk. We buy four to six gallons a week for our family of four. Non-fat, thank goodness! At that rate of consumption whole milk would be prohibitive in calories. At least for the adults in the family.

Thanks guys, at first I was a tad bummed, but I at least will give it a shot. My house with four boys (one being my husband) it's a gallon a day, it the point even the 1 year old is on 2% now...

Not that I wouldn't stay on a Disney property every time I ago, if I could afford it, but...

Are there really any advantanges to staying on property if you are going on days that early entry are not offered? I don't remember anything else that would make it really worth it. I mean, yes, nicer accommodations and Disney touches. I am just wondering if it's worth an extra $100+ per night from another hotel?

I stayed at PP last month for $179 with park view, realizing that's a good price, but I could only afford it because my company gave me $160/per night as a bonus, so I only had to pay the difference, resort fee and tax.

I am thinking about taking my mom in 11 days (she hasn't been in 15 years and has beat cancer twice) and she's never stayed on property. Took my dad last time and it was first time staying on property. He didn't appreciate it like I did!!

I think DL differs from WDW on the onsite stay debate. I don't think it's as important at DL, as there are many decent places right across the street from the main entrance.

I don't know if the room will remain available at the AP4 rate, but I just canceled a concierge city-view room at PPH from 11/12 through 11/18. (someone, other than me, in my party couldn't make it)

Hopefully this will help someone out :)
