Has anyone stayed at Pop Century during late September? Even though this is the slow season at WDW I'm reading that Pop can have full busses to and from parks, that the preferred rooms by the pool can be noisy and that the food court can be busy in the morning. That's all fine, I'm just curious what we'll be up against. This is my first stay at a value resort. Even though this is the slow time at WDW- due to free dine should we expect a full Pop?

I would expect it to be quite busy. Free dine brings in tons of people which is kinda the point of the promo. I hear lines can be long. But Pop is built to handle crowds. Don't sweat it.

We were at Pop last September at the end of the month....It was the free dining. We were pretty far away from the hotel lobby, close to the laundry room. It was pretty loud there also, with the pool very close by...Yes the cafeteria is busy, but we didn't have too many problems. One morning we had cold waffles, for the line ups were so long...but that was the worst thing that happened. We found the week days were good in all parks, but weekends were very busy...We had great weather, no rain. We found the rooms to be comfortable, but there is only two of us...the beds weren't that comfortable, but you have to expect that! The buses could be pretty busy, but we didn't wait long at all. I would go back again....Have a great time....

The trick to the food courts at Pop, I think, is divide and conquer...split up and then meet at the registers. Also, early, early, early!!! The food is pretty good, though, IMHO. We had a preferred room, and I didn't think it was all that noisy, and the resort was packed. We were only in the room in the AM and overnight, and we typically got back after 11 PM.

I stayed in a preferred room in Pop once and it was NOT overlooking the pool - it was on the very end of one of the buildings with 8 track tapes on the stairs, closest to the main building. I found it to be a nice location, but would have been irritated if I'd had to use the elevator to get to my 3rd floor room, because that would have required doubling back about half the length of the building.
