Does anyone know anything about the Bonnett Creek resort? I know where it is and that it is not a WDW property but that's about it. Friends have offered us a (suite? villa? room?) for our Memorial Day trip.
TIA

Hi Jen,
Someone that I met at MouseFest 2005 and 2006 (say hi if you're out there, Jo!) stayed there for an extended period of time, and she loves it. Personally, I prefer to stay at a Disney resort. Of course, if offered accommodations there for free, I doubt that I'd turn it down.
For more info, go here (https://www.fairfieldresorts.com/ffr/resort/search.do), click on Florida, then click on Bonnet Creek.

We own a Fairfield Timeshare and we will be staying at Bonnet Creek in Jan 2008. We know friends who have already stayed there and they said it is absolutely magnificent!! WE are lucky enough with our points to get a 4 bdrm penthouse for our WDW vacation so I am sure my reviews will be raving.
I think it is so cool that a non Disney property is in the park.
They have heated outdoor pools, a lazy river, a fitness center and a full kitchen, not mini fridge, etc...I am talking a full sized kitchen. If you have been offered to stay here, I say take full advantage!!!
The only downnside is you get no perks from the park (ie Dining plan).

Thanks for the input. I just need to weigh the EMH/Parking issues against the free-ish room.
Hmmmm. . . .

I just booked a two bedroom suite at Bonnet Creek for Labor Day weekend along with a studio at Old Key West Resort, I just wanted it as backup. The price for B.C. was amazing, only $189/night while a studio at OKW was $164/night. I just want to know if anyone has ever stayed there and what is your opinion of the resort. I have never stayed in a non-disney resort and am a little nervous because I love the Disney transportation, and other Disney ammeneties. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It is not Disney. You have absolutely no Disney amenities there and no Disney Transportation. It is as if you were staying off property. You do not get free parking at the parks (if you drive).

I haven't stayed at Bonnet Creek, but I have been by there. You should know that you are closer to the parks than any unofficial Disney hotel could be. It's the equivalent of staying at Disney's Caribbean Beach resort. It is also a very new property, so it should be nice in that regard. I think you will get a good value off of the experience, but you will want to understand how quickly buses are moving to each park to decide if you want a car of your own.
