View Full Version : Refillable mugs
flyers fan 07-28-2007, 05:07 AM We stayed at all star sports five years ago and bought the mugs. This year we are staying at all star movies, can you use the same mugs? We seem to remember seeing other people with mugs, but not from sports????? Thanks
GusMan 07-28-2007, 05:45 AM If you are talking about brining your previously purchased mugs from home and using them again... technically, the answer is no.
When you buy the mugs they are supposed to be for that resort and that stay only.
There was a recent discussion that the mugs designs have changed as well, but I would have to look around and verify what that thread said.
rentayenta 07-28-2007, 06:46 AM How much are the mugs? Are they refillable everywhere for the length of your stay or just as your resort?
Inkyprintz 07-28-2007, 08:25 AM As I recall, the cost is somewhere around $12-$15 per mug. We get them when we are on longer trips and get quite a bit of use out of them. The last time this topic came up, the debat on the "do's and don'ts" of mug usage got a little lengthy. You may want to check out this thread!

Mugs are $11.99. And rather than being resort specific as in the past, they are all the same now. Blue with the YOMD design. Have different colored handles-we have a blue, a black and a gray.
No, you are not supposed to use mugs purchased at a different stay for your current stay. The thread that Gusman is referring to has a lot of discussion on this topic.
They are refillable at any resort-so if you want to resort hop or have a split stay, they'll work; or if you visit a resort for a meal and to look around, that's fine too-if you want to cart the mugs along.

What about in the parks; can you refill there too?

No, just at the food court or equivalent in the resorts.
Also, if you get them for a bigger group, mark your names/initials on the bottom with a sharpie. ESPECIALLY if some people don't drink coffee.
There is a refillable mug available for purchase at AK-think it's about $7.99 and refills are $1; also both the water parks have them-about $15-refills are free that day, then if you go back another day or to the other water park, you purchase a new sticker for $5. The water park soda dispensers are the only ones I've seen that you need the UPC sticker code to activate.
Drince88 07-28-2007, 08:51 AM I think the refillable mug is the only way you can get a straw at AK, too. They don't have them due to the risk to the animals from them.
Wendi 07-28-2007, 09:17 AM I bought one last year and it really came in handy, even though we were on the dining plan. For breakfast, I would use it to get coffee, then I would get a bottle of water or powerade/gatorade with my dining plan breakfast to take with me to the parks that day. Every evening, I would fill it up with hot chocolate before going out to the pool, then Max and I would swim and drink hot chocolate before bedtime... it was a nice little treat. So basically, I used it whenever we had a meal in the food court, and used my dining credit to get a bottled drink to take to the parks.
I have to say, I think the new mugs look boring... I wish they were cuter. But I'm sure I'll get one anyway!!!

wishiwasthere 07-28-2007, 03:48 PM Does anyone have a new picture of the new mugs?

Yeah, that was a VERY good little ritual that I am looking forward to starting up again...
tobycoke 08-13-2007, 01:05 PM What about in the parks; can you refill there too?You are not supposed to, but I saw a few people refilling at the do-it-yourself soda fountains at places like The Electric Umbrella (Epcot).

i'm bringing them ,staying at the contemporary gonna try to use them.WAY WAY back in 1995 when the mugs were sort of new we bought one at WL. at the time of purchase it was stated in writing that our mug had no expiration date. on our next stay at WL the mug design had changed and the word was only on this trip. on subsequent trips to WL we have brought our mug, which is considerably different then the mugs they sell now (read bigger). We don't bring ours anymore, not because we weren't allowed to use them, but because it's such a long walk from the villas to the snack bar:eek:. much more convenient to bring our own drinks, plus no place in WDW serves Dr. Pepper, not even Mr. Pib:(
JEANYLASER34 08-26-2007, 12:16 PM can i see the picture of the year of million dreams mugs. Please!

Kahnedude 08-27-2007, 04:15 AM We were there in July and purchased the mugs at Typhoon Lagoon and were told the refill sticker for the next day or any returning trip would cost $6.00 per day per mug.

From what I recall, its basically a 12 (or maybe 14) ounce white and blue mug that has the "Where Dreams Come True" logo on it.
We were there in July and purchased the mugs at Typhoon Lagoon and were told the refill sticker for the next day or any returning trip would cost $6.00 per day per mug.
Just a friendly note- these are not the same as the resort mugs and are technically not eligible to be refilled at the resorts. However, I will say that on a hot day, the $10 water park mug is more than a good deal. Knowing that there is a $6 return sticker is even better.
At AK, they did not have a refillable mug that I saw (in comparison to the resorts/waterparks) but it was more of a big plastic cup with a animal-head top. I think it was $7. Refills were $1. Again....hot day + big refillable cup + cheap refills = good deal. :)
Now, to add a twist to things, at the parks a couple of weeks ago, I did see what looked like a big red mug for sale as well. I did not inquire about it at the time but does anyone know what they cost and do they have a refill "offer" with them?
