Is it better to book directly through Disney, or a travel agent? Will an agent get you a better deal? My husband and I went on a Land/Sea Disney cruise package booked through Disney for our honeymoon 5 years ago, and I'm planning another cruise this spring. What is the benefit of booking a cruise through an agent? Thanks!

Some agencies offer perks if you book through them (like gifts or cabin credit). If you go to a place that knows what they are doing it might be worth it to get a quote vs. Disney's price.
A travel agent should never charge more than Disney. I used to book direct - now I prefer an agent. They deal with the headaches, problems, and all of the details for me, at no additional cost. I simply let them know what I need, and the rest is done.
In fact - we have regularly rebooked a place holder cruise while onboard, and then transfer it to our agent - getting us the extra discounts, credits, etc.

Disney, along with several other cruise lines, have what is known as a level pricing policy. All this means is that you would not get a better rate by going direct through Disney then by going through a travel agent. I would also be very careful as to what type of travel agency you go through. A large number of the online agencies will not help you with any problems and, unless you get a very nice reservation agent, the cruise line will not help you either. Also, you should try and work with an agent that has knowledge of the product. This knowledge can be very valuable when it comes time to choosing a stateroom, what to do, and any general questions you might have.
Hope this helps.

We did ours through a agent this year for the 1st time. And I can't say enough good things about the whole experience. She helped every set of the way with everything. We are going with her again for next year we were so impressed. To me it's just worth it not to have all the headaches and worries. Just make sure that they know their stuff and ask questions. Believe me if they want your business they will be more then happy to answer....no matter what it may be!! Good luck in whatever you decide!

The two DCL trips that we did we went through DCL directly. Both times were great experiences with very helpful agents. We decided to go through them since there was really no price break to go through anywhere else.
But like I say with other trips as well... do some shopping and compare apples to apples everything that is included. Keep in mind that cheaper does not always mean better. Like mentioned above, some agents are cut-rate for a reason. The last thing you want are problems to crop up before you embark.
