Ok, this might've been asked before, but I couldn't find it. I've been able to visit DLP twice in the past 3 years and I'm not fluent in French. This past trip I went with family friends and (because I had already been there once before), they kept asking me what exactly the story line of Phantom Manor is. We couldn't tell if the bride died or if she killed master Gracey or what. Anyone have any answers?? Thanks!

I think it's just best to decide for yourself lol, it is a bit confusing.

Drat....I was hoping to find some closure, lol. When I first rode it 2 years ago.... I was scared out of my mind because I though it was going to be just like DLs (I hadn't ever been to WDW yet). Anyway, I think the reason it scared me is because I didn't know french...so I couldn't hear the "host" telling the story at the beginning. It's still way different than HM...I wonder why. :)

You could try googling it, also you might want to try the book 'The Haunted Mansion, from the Magic Kingdom to the movies', it has some stuff in there about the Phantom Manor.

While we're on te subject I'll be honest, Phantom Manor really creeps me out ;) Even as an avid HM fan. I'm gonna be a nervous wreck when I ride it the first time we visit Europe.

There was this rich mine owner who had a daughter. the daughter fell in love and was to be married. when the father found out the groom's intention of taking his daughter and moving he had the groom killed. as a result a curse fell upon him and the entire town. until the bride finds true love she and the entire town will haunt those grounds. as you can see the bride became somewhat bitter about the whole experience.

Yeah, there was a lot more bride in the PM.

LOL :) Well I listen to an internet radio station that plays only Haunted Mansion music and while the music is beautiful, it takes on a bit more eerie tone I think... I've also seen a video of it on youtube and so far I'm just a weeee bit creeped out ;) Maybe it'll change once I ride it

Yeah, it was a little creepy.....especially the weird grave dog thing that growls. That scared me bad the first time I rode it. I have to admit, it wasn't as scary the second trip, but my heart was beating really fast. The music is a little eerie....not as "friendly" sounding as DLs. :) Thanks for the help guys!!

You're right, it is sorta 'scarier' than the other HMs.
