View Full Version : Beach Club Questions
skodousek 07-24-2007, 05:54 PM We will be stopping in WDW on our way to Sanibel next July, so to keep with the theme of beaches we will be staying at the Beach Club. I do have a few questions though...
1) Does anybody have any reviews of the resort, or any experiences while staying there?
2) Does anybody have any pictures of the rooms they would be willing to share?
3) Is there a sofa sleeper or a day bed in the rooms? Can you request one?
Answers to any or all of these questions would be appreciated! :)

1) My experience was fantastic. Great room (we had a view of the "lighthouse" and the storm along bay slide. Very clean, beds comfy. The lobby is beautiful, The proximity to the boardwalk for food and entertainment, fantastic. Being able to walk to Epcot to eat or enjoy the park was unbeatable. We walked out of our room , took an elevator to the exit by the quiet pool and scrambled through the international gateway to catch Illuminations at the last minute. Resort buses were never full for us and very efficient.
2) If I can figure out which folder my pics are in, I will send them to you
3) Daybed
Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
skodousek 07-24-2007, 06:53 PM What are good places to eat at the Boardwalk? Are there any formal restaurants at the Beach/Yacht Club?
Walt'sbirthdaygirl 07-24-2007, 07:25 PM Yacht club has the steakhouse. Beach Club has the Clam Bake Buffet, which wasnt too bad.
Boardwalk has a pretty good brewery, and the fish place is good. The bakery has super treats and light things to eat.
ESPN zone had half the menu of the Anaheim location and the food wasn't very good.
We frequently walked to EPCOT for food, it was so close, and so many choices.
Drince88 07-25-2007, 03:37 AM If you go to the top of your screen, right under the big MousePlanet, there's a link to the User Review section.
Also, if you go to the Trip Reports section here, you can search for trip reports from people that have stayed at Beach Club.
Additionally, you can go to the Walt Disney World section of MousePlanet (link right under the big logo at the top) and under the Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk, there are listings of the food locations at the three areas. You CAN take the boat over to the Boardwalk, but unless your timing is perfect, it would be faster to walk.
ILMouseFan 07-25-2007, 07:57 AM We stayed at the Beach Club one year. It was fantastic!! BC has the BEST pools. And of course there's the Beaches & Cream kitchen sink. :D
We're going to the Boardwalk in 12 days and one of our favorite restaurants is Spoodles.
HAVE FUN!!
crrees 07-25-2007, 08:02 AM The BC is one of my favorite resorts. Since I live on Sanibel, it really appeals to my lifestyle. Quiet, easy going, extremely comfortable.
There really is no inconvenience to the BC, only that its huge and if you are placed far to far from the elevators, i would opt to take the stairs down to the first floor (assuming you are above the 1st).
Have fun with your vacation, if you need any restaurant advice (with both of your locations) dont hesitate to ask!
MoKat72 07-25-2007, 08:24 AM How exciting! I love to hear how much everybody loved the Beach Club! We're going for our first visit in September, and I was a little wary of the extra $500 cost to upgrade to the Beach Club. All these testimonials make me sure I made the right choice!
dawz1026 07-26-2007, 03:58 AM As a regular there...the sofabed is great my dd slept on it last visit and said it was very comfy. We stayed in room 1536 and it was right next to the quiet pool with a back door on the pathway to walk towards Epcot. The laundry room was steps away as well.It has been our favorite resort! Have fun!
WDW heart 07-27-2007, 04:28 PM We stayed there in 2002. We stayed in the Beach Club Villas in 2005. We loved it. It is a beautiful resort. Our room did not have a sleeper sofa and I don't know where we would have put it. The room was very nice but just big enough for the four of us.

I can’t think of a better place to stay than the Beach Club if you want to prepare yourself for Sanibel Island. OMG, WDW and Sanibel Island in the same vacation…I’m REALLY jealous now! What a perfect segway. (1) Beach Club has a very relaxed atmosphere….Sanibel Island has a very relaxed lifestyle (2) At Beach Club you can relax in a chair on their beach, walk the beach and get sand between your toes...At Sanibel Island this is a way of life (3) At Beach Club you can rent a surry bike...At Sanibel you can rent a bike to explore the Island (4) At Beach Club they use Sea Grapes for landscaping…At Sanibel Island Sea Grapes grow naturally and grace the landscape.
As far as formal restaurants, if you are on the Dining Plan or have the DDE card, the Yachtsmans Steakhouse and the Flying Fish are probably the most upscale formal restaurants around the Beach Club. But, if you are not on the Dining Plan and don’t have a DDE card, you may also want to consider the wonderful upscale restaurants at the Dolphin Hotel as well….Chef Todd English’s Blue Zoo Restaurant still makes me drool every time I think about it, and Shula’s Restaurant (as in Bob Shula) has great steaks (dress here is business casual, though. No shorts and T-shirts).
Enjoy your vacation. I just might plan a similar one!
crrees 07-28-2007, 08:05 PM its to bad you cant get seagrape jelly at the BC like you can on Sanibel. Stuffs expensive but heavenly.
I recommend doing California Grill (of course...) for a nice restaurant. That or flying fish.
To contrast either one when your on the island, go to Dulce Vida. Its right on the main road of Sanibel (Periwinkle is the name of the steet). Right when you get on the island, turn right (oh btw..if you havent been..there is a new bridge that was completed which makes the drive SOO much easier). About 1 mile down right after the pink flamingo is Dulce Vida. Its expensive but they have AWESOME food.

We stayed there in late April and really enjoyed the resort!
