Travel dates: We were at Disney July 14th - 16th

Travel method: plane then rental car – we had a PT cruiser

Resort: Special deal of $25 per night but we couldn't stay at the same hotel 2 nights in a row so we had to switch

Accommodations: hotel

Ages Represented in Group: adults - all gals

DL Experience Represented in Group: Me - over 150 times easily between Disneyland, Disney World and Disney cruise – my friend, 1st visit

Comments: 1st day - We were the first people in the parking lot and we got the #1 parking spot. Crew members cheered for us and we received honorary citizen pins.
We purchased our tickets online and when they went to print off our tickets, during early entry, the printer broke. We received one free fastpass.
We got in line for nemo subs during EE. Nemo subs is absolutely adorable.
My friend received her 1st visit pin on It's a Small World.
We did the Fantasmic Balcony and it was one solid hour of misery. It was my first complaint ever to Disney. Our table was the size of a plant stand, which we had to share with 2 strangers. We were placed in the 2nd row (even though we were the 2nd group to arrive). We were so packed in that I had a choice of putting my right foot down or seeing Fantasmic. I kept kicking the "plant stand" which caused my cocoa to spill everywhere. The 2nd row was playing musical chairs (in an attempt to see) and had to stand to view the show. Very poor organization for $60 a head. HIGHLY, HIGHLY disappointed. At first we thought we’d forget about out hour of misery, but on our third day we decided to complain at City Hall. Fantasmic Balcony seating was by far my worst Disney experience ever. For our misery, they gave us one free fastpass!! That made the situation worse as far as I was concerned! What an insult! You can get fastpasses free anyways. Since I was in a wheelchair, we didn’t need them anyways.
The rest of our trip was absolutely wonderful. This one tram guy cracked me up…..”Disneyland here we come….YAY!! Finding Nemo Subs, here we come…YAY!” OK, it isn’t very funny when I type it, you had to be there.
When we were at Disney, I sat with the Universal Fear Factor Live show champion on the sunwheel swinging gondala ride, and he described in detail that drink they had to drink. The one with the fish guts, pig lips and eyes with sour milk, he explained in detail how that was all real and how it tasted! EWWW No way I'd volunteer for that one!
We did fine dining everyday and it was great. For the Electric Parade, we got to do California wine tasting from Napa Valley and eat desserts from The Vineyard Room! It was the best dessert we ever tasted in our lives and we were practically bouncing in our seats while watching the parade and drinking wine. Our waiter thought we were so funny so he brought us a complementary dessert and the chef brought us a sample of a complementary dish he is working on. At The Vineyard Room I got the 3 course meal which started with watermelon soup. This was my favorite restaurant and I cannot imagine doing Disneyland ever again and not eating at the Vineyard Room.
We also ate at the Blue Bayou, that restaurant that overlooks the Pirate ride, you sit on the water with candlelight and have little fireflies all around. So cute! We got a pirate "booty" as a souvenir and I still don't understand what it is but it looks neat.
We were given free fastpasses to get on rides (see above). I ended up giving one away b/c we didn't need it. We were let right on the rides (except for Nemo subs). We were let right on the rides b/c I had to get a wheelchair. I had no idea how difficult it would be to navigate the park in a chair. People constantly leap and run in front of chairs. We had to wait 5 hours for an electric chair to become available, so we rode the Disneyland train for like 4 hours b/c I could not walk. The cast members were mostly helpful and accommodating with the chair.
My friend loved Disney so much that she wants to plan a trip to Disney World to see Epcot. Maybe we’ll be there during Xmas time? YAY!! "Disney World, here we come...YAY!"
