HOLY COW! I'm at 6 days! One week from today, I'll be at the GF for a massage and a tea. Whoo-hoo!! Looks like the weather will get slightly cooler at the end of the week. That is a HUGE relief to me!

Wow, tdelaney, I've been away for awhile and now I find you are down to only 6 days! Woohoo!!

26 more days for me, which isn't all that bad either.

I can't believe it!!!

I am now LESS than a week out from my trip to WDW.

Soon enough, my countdown timer will be reset to my next tentative trip for December 2008, but for now, I am am just going to look forward to my trip in only...

6 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!

As for work days, I had to work Saturday, so I only have 4 work days to go!!!!

Now let's hope the weather isn't unbearably hot this year. :) (It was bad last year, with record highs and high humidity, but I am used to the humidity at home, but it was the temperatures for the time of year that got me last year.)

D, we should be OK. I have been watching the Orlando/Kissimmee weather every single day for the last month. Looks like the really hot weather breaks on Friday and it should be in the mid 80s and dry for the time we're there (at least up until the 17th--that's as far out as they dare to predict :p).

I was worried too! The last October trip I was there, it was right before (and during) Hurricane Wilma. It was incredibly hot and humid before the storm and then afterwards it was so cool that we had to buy sweatshirts. Go figure! Yes, we stil had a GREAT time!

5 days to go!!

YEAH! I'm so incredibly happy for you! I was hoping you guys could swing another trip since the last one was so great! Free dining must make it a wonderful incentive. I knew you could do it by yourself! Yahoo!

Thanks Tina - and hope you have a wonderful trip too!

What's it like in the "south" (Twin Cities)? :p 46 and VERY windy today. Made me think of Pooh's Blustery Day. You must be near Bemidji or farther north? I saw that there was snow up that way. Unbelievable that within 24 hours, I went from having the a/c on to the furnace!

Looks like it will be 85/70 when I get there and through the mid-week. Sounds great!

THREE days left! Oh boy, we're in the homestretch now! I gotta get my laundry done before I leave. I HATE leaving a mess when I go on vacation. Has to be tidy!!

I am eight hours north of you in NW Ontario.

Looks like you and D2000 are going to have nice weather while you are there! Is packing complete? Are all of your affairs in order? I really need to know how everyone deals with the last week. I am going to be a complete wreck I know it - in 70 work days!

Finally feel like I am getting some where with the packing. Every ones costumes are figured out, just need to make a couple Jedi belts/sashes. Fall has finally decided to come so that will make packing the shorts and lighter T's easier.

Thanks so much. :) I think I will have a big report too, just like Tina. Heck, if anyone is interested, I can include my last few days in Tampa as a part of the report too. :)

With tomorrow being my last day at work until after this trip, it is going to go so slow, lol.

Oh, OK--then yeah, you had colder weather yesterday :). It was still very cold and blustery today. Those 85 degree days in FL will feel like 100 for a day or 2 until I adjust!

YES, I'M A NERVOUS WRECK! It's a good anticipation, but last night, I went to bed at 2:30 and got up at 6. I kept thinking of all of the things I still needed to do/get. I'm a HUGE planner and I had things well in hand, but I'm leaving youngest son, husband, and elderly parents to fend for themselves. Ha! I know they can get it all done without me; it's just easier for them if I have all of THEIR ducks in a row!

The biggest headache has been the school. There was a long thread recently about taking kids out of school. Well, they approved it (after hemming and hawwing that they wouldn't). He's missing a mere 2-1/2 days for a 10 day trip (folded into a fall break). You would think he has mono and is out for a month! The amount of work is amazing. For example:

FACS (Home Ec): He must keep a food journal of everything he eats
History: Test on the morning he returns; major project due too; has to do research at Epcot for next quarter's project
Math: Test on the morning he returns
English/Language: Worksheets (done), 2 hours reading time (I think he's reading the original Phantom of the Opera now), and Freak the Mighty or something like that.
Gym: Pedometer to keep track of his miles; swimming every other day.
Music: See at least one concert so he can write a report on it.
Science: NOTHING! The teacher is TEACHING him the 2 days' worth of lectures he'll miss on Friday after school. Cool chick! 1st year teacher.

I know I've gone on and on. I was surprised by the amount of work he was going to have to do. This truly WILL be the last year we take him out for a vacation. This is NUTSO!

I'm all packed except for makeup and curling iron. Still have a ton of laundry to do as it seems to multiply like gremlins. Speaking of which, I'll go now and do another load. Good night!!

Almost 2 days (2.2 days--:p)

Tina and D200lands,

Wishing both of you a WONDERFUL vacation. Your countdown has finally ended. Gosh, after the long countdowni, t's finally SHOWTIME! Weather usually breaks from summer to fall around this time, so you are going at a great time of the year. Looking forward to your trip reports. Enjoy!

Tina you have some crazy teachers in your town!!!

The gym teacher even gave him work? I would have just called the school and told them that he was sick for the two days! Jeez!

I hope you all have a great time!!

Tina,

I know what you mean about making sure everything is together, the nerves, etc. I haven't slept welll at all this week in anticipation.

Boy will it be a crash afterwards, lol. But, I choose not to look that far ahead.

I am looking for the magic to start to begin with, and it feels good to say only one work day to go until the trip. I intentionally took off the day before to finish last minute stuff.

I can't wait. We land in Orlando at 9:37 am EDT. :)
