View Full Version : What you wear to the park, or plan on packing for your trip!
Disneynerd 07-18-2007, 06:05 PM Sorry, I'm a girl.
Months before our trip, I begin to prepare my clothing selections for the park. Necessities include but are not limited to:
a new pair of running shoes (Nike)
A good windbreaker / rain jacket
A fleece pullover
khaki shorts and capri's
A variety of fitted tshirts that easily go from day to evening (or park-y to not-totally parky if we feel we need to eat fancy) that fit well under said outwear
A variety of ribbed, fitted tank tops in case it's hotter 'n Hades (Old Navy and/or Gap Outlet)
My favorite jeans
Detroit Tiger's baseball cap
Matching outfits for the girls (I SWORE I'd never do this, but it's funny)What are your clothing requirements?

chocolate knee-length shopper shirt

pink and white baseball cap!Yay! I'm not alone in the fashion world!
MiaTurner 07-18-2007, 06:47 PM My Nightmare Before Christmas coat, Lightning McQueen jacket, Jack Varsity shirt, Mickey hairtie, and tiara are a must for every trip :) And usually a pair of walking shoes or my cheer shoes (on competition trips); I don't make nearly enough money to risk ruining my Rhino Red sneakers onna Disneyland visit...
Though lately my second-day wardrobe for DL is my pink Meet the Robinsons shirt and a bun. (HAVE to wear the tiara everyday though.)
And I dress my 3 year old cousin in an Aurora costume EVERY time, no exceptions :D
Bytebear 07-18-2007, 06:47 PM If you buy new shoes, break them in BEFORE you get to the park. Otherwise, you risk blisters and sore feet.
Alisonsmom 07-18-2007, 07:19 PM I pack only disney wear. Disney shirts, pants, shorts, socks, jackets, sweatshirts. We don't have disney shoes. I don't own disney underwear but my daugther does and you betcha I pack those too!
I also find if I pack all my disney clothes I don't feel the need to buy new stuff.....well at least not a lot of new stuff :D
River Belle 07-18-2007, 08:15 PM I love this thread!!! Disneyland and fashion? Almost too much for a girl to bear!;)
My husband has his DL "uniform," which consists of an old school Mickey Mouse Club t-shirt, a pair of jeans (or shorts when it's warm), and his Chuck Taylors. He wears this nearly every time.
I wish it were that easy for me...
I'm CONSTANTLY trying to find that balance between fashion and function--you know, looking chic, but without trying too hard.
If I had a "uniform," (what I'm most likely to wear), it would probably be something like this:
Spring--print capris, white t-shirt, denim jacket, slides
Summer--white capris, black tank, patent leather flip-flops
Fall--long pants, fitted shirt, denim jacket, sandals
Winter--jeans, sweater, overcoat, and boots

Leofoenget 07-19-2007, 09:08 AM Oh very, very lucky you!
I got it at the outlet center few months ago. I was very very happy!
Walt'sbirthdaygirl 07-19-2007, 09:41 AM Gotta know, how can you spend a day in the park with any sort of heel or flip flops?
I'm personally a jeans (in colder weather) or capris
Shorts when its warm
A Disney Tee
Sweatshirt for those cool evenings
Heavy coat for the winter excursions
and sandals (sensible, ugly, brown and comfy)
ECCO mary janes or Tennies

Faith Trust & Pixie Dust 07-19-2007, 10:31 AM Matching outfits for the girls (I SWORE I'd never do this, but it's funny
I always do this, and I have three girls (4, 6 & 7). For now they actually enjoy dressing alike, and I like only having to look for one pattern/color when I'm doing a quick head count. When we go the week after Thanksgiving we're going to be the :geek: family and all 5 of us will wear our matching Mickey fair isle sweaters to try and get a good Christmas card picture (DH is indulging me).
wvnative 07-19-2007, 10:37 AM I'm a no frills kinda gal myself (and I don't own any pink ...lol)
Flip flops are a must but are only used for the plane ride or the drive.
My well broken in tennis shoes.
Depending on the time of year, denim capris, denim shorts, or jeans.
tshirts (usually a plain color) or tank tops disney if I have them
I always take my black and white Mickey jacket
Lately I've begun wearing my WVU visor
I dress pretty much the same for DL as I do on my casual days at work. although I'll admit to considering buying some new tops to wear on our next trip.
The kid packs her own suitcase these days (finally). She's a bit more fashion concious than I am. She usually takes several color coordinated tank tops and denim capris/jeans, a couple fitted shirts, a few pairs of sneakers, and her Jack Skellington sweatshirt.
ETA: she always takes jewelry to match her outfits. She is 16 after all. lol
Leofoenget 07-19-2007, 10:37 AM Gotta know, how can you spend a day in the park with any sort of heel or flip flops?........
I assume you are referring to my "croc flip flops" Oh I won't wear them at the park at all. I have them to kick around the hotel and by the pool. I could NEVER wear flip flops at the park. Heck I won't even wear them for an all day shopping trip to Walmart if I'm gonna be doing a big shop. It's KEENS all the way.
Infinitely 07-19-2007, 11:08 AM Gotta know, how can you spend a day in the park with any sort of heel or flip flops?
I feel more comfortable with a heel, it is just a personal thing.
Walt'sbirthdaygirl 07-19-2007, 11:23 AM I feel more comfortable with a heel, it is just a personal thing.
I wear heels all the time, except when I am at DL, Sea World etc.. I hold you in great admiration, I just know I would somehow find a way to take a glorious tumble while walking down Main Street. Thats why I stick to the flat and comfies!!!

Oh, I will fall whether I am in heels, flats, shoeless...sitting. It is a talent of mine, so I might as well look good doing it!
ha ha ha
jazzysmom 07-19-2007, 12:09 PM This is sick to admit, but I acutally have an entire container stuff under my bed that I only wear at Disneyland & I live no where near it! It consists of my Disney Crocks, Personalized Tink Jacket, my awesome Pirates Sweatshirt that I wear every day after sun-down, my disney socks, jammies, many shirts & capris. EVERYTHING I wear in the park is Disney. I can't wait to be packing it all up for our next trip!
AlbertaMinnie 07-19-2007, 12:47 PM We pack our broken-in footwear and the clothes on our backs when we drive down.....and we hit as many outlet malls possible on the way!!! Coming home with a whole new California wardrobe is half the fun! We never miss the Character Outlets in both Vegas and Fullerton!
Levi's 501s. Blue or black. (Perhaps once a year I'll wear my brown or tan pair.)
Comfortable shoes. (Doc Martin, Mephisto, or Louis Vuitton sneakers.)
Typically, I'll wear a long sleeve shirt. During the summer I'll wear it open and untucked with a tank top underneath. Sometimes I wear short sleeve aloha-style shirts (either one of my Shag shirts or one of my Reyn Spooner Mickey shirts).
A hat (currently, one of the cowboy/pirate skull hats they've been selling in Pieces of Eight) and/or a bandana.
Lots of sunscreen.
Several silver rings.
Then again, every once in a while I'll wear a suit.
Infinitely 07-19-2007, 12:54 PM I've got it!
We should plan a day we all go to Disneyland dressed up! Not formalwear, but dresses, slacks and shirts....think 1950's!
Oh yes, we can start a trend!
AlbertaMinnie 07-19-2007, 01:01 PM That would be fun!
Honestly, I think it'd be SO nice if people went back to the old days of dressing up to go to DL.
Infinitely 07-19-2007, 01:19 PM How about September 27th?
It is a very important day to me and I would appreciate all the people who dress up, oh so very much!!
:D
