We have 3 kids, DS8, DD4 & DD2 and I know DD2 will sometime need a stroller so I've rented a single stroller from abbf.com. I say sometime because she is very independent and currently has a love/hate relationship w/her stroller at home. Now - DD4 (who will actually be 5 when we go to disney) I'm pretty sure she'll need a stroller eventually. I can see her legs getting tired very easily. We went to the coast last week & did some walking around town - although she did ok she was totally exhausted by supper. Thats only 1 day of walking - we'll be at disney for 9 days!

So - now I'm thinking (it never ends!) maybe I should rent a double stroller at the parks and then DD2 & DD4 will each have the option of taking a break. Who knows maybe DS8 will need a break as well. I know they don't recline but we'll be breaking every afternoon for a nap and if DD2 decides to sleep in the stroller I think (not sure-never rented one before) we could make it comfortable for her using backpack and her blanket.

Just curious what others do regarding strollers when you know one will need a stroller and one probably will eventually need one. Thanks for any advice. We'll be staying at the Poly if that effects any advice.

Personally, I'd get the double. We went a year ago April with my then 5 year old, 4 year old twins and 1 year old. I had a stroller for the 1 year old but ended up renting a double for the twins for a few days near the end of our trip. The stroller is pretty big and alot of the time the twins ended up in the seat and the 5 year old sat on the front near their feet criss-cross-applesauce and it worked great.

Thanks for the advice. We're leaning towards just renting one in the park vs struggling w/stroller & buses especially since DD2 might not sit in it. Thanks agian.

The only advantage I can think that having your own stroller gives is that you don't have to carry a sleeping child back to the hotel...my DH carried our 5 yo DS pretty much every night. A few pictures to make my point..

Perhaps a light umbrella stroller in case someone can't make the trip back to the hotel, and rent the double in the park?

I would definitely get a double stroller. I also recommend bringing your own if you can. If you are planning on park hopping you cannot take the stroller outside of the park.

Walt Disney World has double strollers for rent.

Disneyland does not.

With your youngest 2 being the age they are, I say by all means have a stroller option for both of them.
I have never been to WDW with my family, but I know for us, having a stroller to get the tired kids back to the hotel was an important piece of travel gear too. So you might want to look in to getting an umbrella stroller of your own to bring along. The Maclarens are lightweight and great!
