Hi! I was just looking on the Universal Studios website planning for our trip up there on Wednesday. We havent been there in a while and I came up with a few questions:

1. Where is E.T.? Is it all gone? :crying: I liked that ride!

2. How scary is the Mummy ride? My kids are 9 and 11, but scare easier than most their age.

3. What do you think of Terminator 2 - 3D? Is it worth doing...and again...are my kids gonna have bad dreams from doing it?

Thanks!

ET closed in 2003 and they built the Mummy in its place. It isn't really "scary". Just fast. Both forwards and backwards. So if you're kids do not enjoy rollercoasters, then they would not enjoy this ride. It is very smooth though and not rough in the traditional coaster sense. And they have to be tall enough, 48 inches to ride.

T2 is a lot of fun. Not really scary. Just an action/adventure. It's a 3-D movie mixed with live actors there in the theater doing stunts. I doubt the kids will have nightmares from it. It's mainly just loud and dark inside the theater.

Thanks again for your response....

Looks like we'll be able to do those two rides... they may just have to close their eyes for the mummy one. :)

I'd be careful with Mummy. Last year I took my 8 year old daughter on it and it was not a pleasant experience. All the "bugs" and other mummy type effects really upset her (I ended up covering up her eyes) and she hasn't gone on it since (she does like coasters too). As some background, she likes Haunted Mansion at Disneyland, but the stretching room does bother her a little (she buries her head on my shoulder), after that she's fine.

Just yesterday I took her on T2:3D for the first time and she really liked that one.

Thanks West Covina Dave.
I guess if my kids decide to do Mummy, I'll definately be closing my eyes!!!

Just a quick correction, the ET ride is alive and well- I went on it just a few months ago- it's still great & a lot of fun.

The King Kong ride is now gone- that is where the Mummy ride is. I'd say Mummy is MUCH more intense then Haunted M- it's a coaster & there are some loud/fast elements. I know a 9 year old who loves it- but they're all different at that age..
