My husband's niece is visiting from out of the country, first time in the U.S. Of course the top priority is Disneyland, but we would also like to take her to Universal Studios. We were looking at the website today, and noticed that they have a meal plan for $19.99 per person per day. It only showed 3 participating restaurants. Has anyone done this before, and if so, do you think it's worth it? Are the lines extremely long because those are the only 3 eateries offering it?

I've done it a few times. Only once during a busy season, but it actually wasn't that bad. The lines are long if you eat during the "peak" times like everyone else. 11:30-1:00ish 4:30-6:30ish, etc.

It's kind of like a buffet, but your limited to what you can take each time you go through a line. You get a main dish, a side dish and a dessert each time. So like you can grab a hamburger, fries and an ice cream or something. Go to your table and if you're stil hungry, get back in line and do the whole process over again. But they don't let you take more than that at one time. And they dont allow you to share. So you couldn't buy 1 pass for everyone. I saw them strictly enforcing this rule.

If you're going to spend all day I would say it's worth it because it will pay for itself on the second use. Then you can always grab a snack like a cookie or side salad throughout the day if you want.

I think it's something like $25 in the summer time, and they add 2 more restaurants, so you have 5 to choose from instead of 3. At least thats what it was last summer when I went.

Thanks Wallad1075!

I guess I'll see if i can find the menus, and try to figure out the price difference. My family doesnt eat a whole lot...but two desserts sounds yummy! :p
