For those of you arriving in WDW on Jan. 11, there are only a few more days until you can make your dining reservations (July 15!)

WDW has so many great restaurants, but I find it hard to find basic fare for the night before the races. Last year we ate at Wolfgang Puck Cafe Friday night, and Kona Cafe Sat., the night before the marathon, and Tony's Town Square for dinner after the marathon (bad choice -forgot MK was dry - I REALLY wanted a beer!!)

Any suggestions for tasty, basic meals? We are only planning on going to Epcot on Sunday after the marathon, so our Friday and Saturday dinners need to be outside the parks.

Has anyone gone to the pasta dinner at the WWS complex? We usually go to the expo right after lunch, so we don't plan on going to the dinner - but I'm still curious about it.

We are arriving on Friday and leaving on Tuesday. We're having a large group, and not everyone is going to the parks so we're going to do all of our table service meals outside the parks.

Friday-Flying Fish Cafe
Saturday-Cape May Cafe
Sunday-Whispering Canyon
Monday-Jikos
Tuesday-Ohana for breakfast

I've only been to Cape May Cafe and Ohana. I'm trusting the word of everyone that all the other places are good.

For counter service I'm sure we'll eat at Beaches n Cream a lot since we'll be at the Beach Club. I'm ready for the kitchen sink on Sunday after the marathon!

Earl of Sandwich in DTD has some good, basic fare. I had soup and bread there the night before the marathon.

I made my ADRs today -

Friday - Cap N Jacks or All star Cafe pasta dinner
Saturday - Wolfgang Puck Cafe
Sunday - Coral Reef
Monday morning - Goofy's breakfast!

Usually I take a direct flight home on Monday morning, but this year I booked a later, connecting flight just so I could sleep in a bit and have a big breakfast. We're staying at the Beach Club, so the Goofy breakfast will be convenient - plus we'll have some good photo ops with Goofy and our goofy medals (optimism always!)

Anyone know whats good at Jiko?
Everything!

Their flatbread appetizers are one of their signature items. The chef is also known for some of her grain dishes as well. EVERYTHING I've eaten there has been super yummy. I have a hard time not making an ADR there for every single trip!

They also serve very nice teas there (I did a food and tea lunch on one trip that was a special DDE lunch, so got to hear all about the food, the tea, the tea company, and why Chef Annette picked which foods to go with which teas)
