Mouse Ear Flag Pins?

So DW2B is a huge francophile. She herself is French Canadien, She spent a whole semester abroad in France in college, has been back twice since, we're going for our honeymoon. Anyyyyyway.

In December when I was at the World of Disney in NYC I bought her one of the mouse ear flag pins they sell at WDW that had the colors of the French flag on it. On our recent trip she wanted to get a pin for 2 of her friends who went to France with her. We went to every pin store we could find in all 4 parks and some of the hotels, and came up completely empty. We saw Canada, America, Germany, Mexico, Japan, Yin-Yang, Morocco, Gay Pride, Great Britain, but NO FRANCE. So tonight I went on ebay looking for one and lo and behold, I found one, but it mentions it was retired.

Does anyone know why they would stop making only the French pin? As DW2B pointed out, France didn't stop being a country.

So what gives? And was it a fluke that I found one in WoD?

Gee, I don't think they stopped. It happens to be my 12-yo son's favorite pin. (His whole room is "Eiffel towers.") You might try calling the park shopping line (I'm sure a moderator or other MPer will chime in with the number--I don't have it on hand) and describe it to them. They will ship it to you.

I'm not a pin expert so I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong! The PinPics site indicates that pin is retired:

That does seem weird that they stopped making the French pin especially since it is one of the countries in the World Showcase.

I know it is not what your asking for but I was surprised to find an Italin Mickey ear antenna topper at Epcot. I bought it for my BIL and he loves it.
