I've tried and tried to get a good size image down to avatar size to use on this site and for the life of me just can't do it.

I have many pictures I wish to use and don't like the "mini" size I end up with at 19.5kb. Can someone tell me how to get my Segway picture to display bigger???

Well, the max size is 150x150px / 23.4KB. I start by cropping the full-size image to the section I want to use as an avatar, and then resize using "preserve aspect ratio" and setting the larger dimension to 150. Save as JPG for a photo, PNG or GIF for an image.

You gotta subscribe but it is sooooo worth it. Avatars rock!!

It seems I have it with the new Yak & Yeti jpg. Now we'll see if I can do it again in a few days when I change it to a new one.
