Calling Niwel!! I have a question. We're going on our 1st cruse ever in Aug and I am wondering if we decide to once again book with DCL what type of deposit do you need to do at that time? Also what type of incentives do they have??? I like to plan way ahead of time and really think we're going to love this as our girls are getting older...but still love to do disney in some fashion! Thank you so much for any help! :-)

Deposits depend on the length of the cruise. A 3 & 4 night cruise requires a $200 deposit per person. So, 4 people would require an $800 deposit.

A 7 night cruise requires a $250 deposit. Again, 4 people would be $1000.

There aren't generally specific incentives from DCL. General rule on pricing is that the earlier you book, the greater your discount. So, better to book sooner, rather than later.

If you pay completely with a Disney Visa, you can get a $50 shipboard credt.

Most other incentives come if you book another cruise while on board. That can result in up to a 10% discount off the cruise, and a $200 shipboard credit.

If you are looking at August of 2007 you will not be allowed to place a deposit on your cruise, full payment will be due at time of booking. For any booking made 60 to 90 days (depending on the cruise) prior to sailing a full payment is required otherwise, Tony's information is right on spot. Just as an FYI, final payment is usually due 60 - 90 days priot to sailing (again, depending on the itinerary).

If you pay completely with a Disney Visa, you can get a $50 shipboard credt.
Let me also mention that if you put your deposit down on a Disney Visa you can get 6 months 0% on that deposit. When you go to pay the remaining balance, you get -another- 6 months 0% interest on that as well.

But like Two Bears mentioned, if you are too close to your desired travel date, (such as Aug of this year) you will have to pay at the time of booking. (You were referring to Aug of this year, right?)

At the same time, there is a general rule that the earlier you book the better. You may want to compare prices for the same trip for August this year and possibly a later time as well. Also compare on and off-season rates. Not trying to steer you away from a great vacation or encourage you to postpone it, but just providing a possible cost savings tip. :)

Hi Again....sorry I did'nt clarify!! No I am talking about booking a 2008 cruise while still on the 2007 cruise. We are cruising this Aug 12-16 and I am thinking that we will really enjoy it. Just trying to find out deposits and such if you book the following yrs while on board still?

Ok, I wasn't crazy. ;)

You still have to pay the deposit if you rebook onboard. Same amounts. Your biggest discounts come with the 7-night cruises (Typically the 10% and $200+ shipboard credit). Well in advance will save you a lot of money, but so will time of year.

If you want to sail in the fall (September, October), you will save a lot since that is hurricane season. Just be sure that if you book then, you don't mind being flexible (the odds of your itinerary changing go up signiifcantly). Also, if you book during hurricane season, be sure to get the insurance.

Thanks all. May be jumping the gun with trying to plan another before going on the 1st....but heard that they give you a discount if you do. My daughters and I love Disney and are sure we'll love this aspect of it too!!
