Hi,

I am booking a RT shuttle from LAX to DL for 2 adults, which companies have you used, which are cheapest? I am looking at Xpress, Primetime and karmel (which seems expensive) is there one notoriously bad/late etc..?

Also, PT and X have us being picked up an hour and 40 min before the suggested arrival time, not 1 h 40 min before flight, it doesnt take 1 h 40 m to get from DL to Lax at 8 or 9 at night does it? Karmel has pick up time of 45 min before suggested arrival time...

Also, the DL shuttle (gotobus.com) there is a list of hotels, first being the dl hotel, do they drop off according to that list?

Any help/suggestions/advice would be great!

Thanks!

We have always had luck with Super Shuttle. I hear you on the pick up times being really early. I have asked to have our pick up times be pushed back and I always get told that it is to be safe, in case of traffic, other pick ups ect.

We used Karmel last fall and the pick up from the airport was okay. We called the number on the voucher when we were ready for pickup and the van was there within 15 minutes.
However, when we scheduled our trip back to LAX we had confirmation what time the shuttle would be at our hotel to pick us up. The shuttle arrived almost 45 minutes after our scheduled pickup time. For this reason only I will not use Karmel again!

We used the Disneyland shuttle bus a few years ago and it was okay. However, alot yourself extra time as it could make several stops before you get to your hotel. The bus we were on make a few stops in Buena Park before making it to the Disneyland Hotel.

We try to fly into Orange County and just grab a cab :D

I've become more disenchanted with SuperShuttle of late. When I arrived late in LAX, I had a driver who circled the airport five times, with three of us in the van, trying to get more fares. At more peak times, I had a lot of passengers who were being dropped off at their homes far, far away from Anaheim and they got dropped first. It's not unusual for the trip to take at least two hours and feel a little bit like torture. I'm looking for better alternatives for next time.

I too have given up on super shuttle and for my last two trips i have taken the DLR magical express bus. the first time i took it, i learned a valuable lesson. i was staying at the anaheim sheraton and we drove straight past it to the first stop which is the disneyland hotel. it then took an hour to get back to the sheraton. so in january, i got off at the disneyland hotel and caught a taxi which cost $5 - the whole trip took 40 minutes total. there is a discount voucher floating around somewhere (on the website) that gives you $5 off per person. the good thing is that the sheraton is the last pickup on the way to the airport, so it was 40 minutes direct back to the airport too.

I used primetime directly to disneyland last august, and had no problems. It took a little longer than expected, because we had to stop at Biola first, but I guess thats what you expect with a shared ride van. Ive used prime many times in the past year, and have been satisfied.

Yes, we have flown into Orange County several times and we take a cab to our hotel. It's easy as they are located right outside of baggage claim (can't miss them) and I think last time we took the cab it was around $35 ($30 fair + $5.00 tip).

Last September I used the Disneyland Resort Express Bus...I really liked it. And I would use it again with no worries.

It costs $19 one way or $28 round trip. With the coupon it costs $25 RT per person.

Here's a link to a coupon:

How do you know which hotels are first? Or which is last? I am staying at Parkside inn and suites--it isnt listed as a stop, prob cuz its crappy and cheap :~D but its right next door to Anabella hotel. We are leaving DL the last day to fly out, so I am trying to maximize time. If anyone knows which hotels are first/last etc.. and could let me know that would be great! And thanks for the coupon!

the bus always goes straight from LAX through to DLH, then they do an inventory of who needs to go where, and work out the most straightforward route for the bus to go to those hotels - thus there is no automatic way of knowing what number stop your hotel will be, unless you are staying at the anaheim sheraton - that hotel is always the last stop (and knowing that is great - i saved myself an hour in january, getting out at the DLH and catching at taxi which took about 3 minutes and cost $5). the pick up for the trip out to the airport is different however; they send shuttles around (there are a couple of different routes, with definite pick up times) to the hotels, and then everyone meets at the DLH and transfers to the airport bus. you can see the return trip timetables on the website.

Our flight comes into LAX at 11:30 pm, the last shuttle leaves lax (the disney shuttle) and 12:00. Can we make it? We are carrying on our bags--what do you all think?

We prefer flying in and out of Orange County, then we hop on Super Shuttle and are on our way, to the hotel within 30 minutes. Unfortunately they always want to pick you up SO early for your flights, getting you to the airport 2 hours before departure time. If you try to change the time they will do it, but make you sure that you are aware they are not responsible should you miss your flight if you take a later shuttle.
We did fly in to LAX once, and did the same, Super Shuttle was $15 per person. It was about an hour drive to our hotel in the Disneyland area.

emma - We are staying at the Anaheim Sheraton in August. Do you think it makes sense to see how many other hotels they are going to stop at and then decide to stay on the bus or grab a taxi? Or, is it your experience that there are always a lot of different hotels so we should automatically grab a taxi at DLH? Getting a cab sounds like a bit of a hassle but one I would gladly do to save 40 min travel time.

Do the shuttles usually leave LAX exactly at 12? Our flight comes in at 11:30 pm, last leaving at 12..should we do it? Can we make it? Not checking bags fyi.

Also, how long does it take to walk from DL to the Disneyland hotel? Specifically, the place where they pick you up? (which, btw, where is that?)

How long does it take the Disneyland shuttle generally to go from the last stop (DL hotel) to lax? Our flight leaves at 10:24, and am debating whether to catch the 8 shuttle or 9 shuttle. We arent checking bags.

Any tips from people who fly in and out of lax regularly! Or anyone who has used the disney shuttle! Thanks!

Hi there, I don't have a lot of experience - I have only done it twice myself, but both times the bus was pretty full. the first time we drove past the Sheraton at I think 4.05pm on the way to the DLH, but because of the circular route they take dropping off at the hotels, I didn't get dropped off there until just after 6pm. I was so cranky!! So in January, when we got to the DLH and I realised that everyone on the bus (about 10 families) was going on to other hotels, I just made the split second decision to jump off and grab my bag. I was going to walk (its only a short walk to the Sheraton) but there was a taxi sitting right there, so I asked and he didn't care that it was a short journey (it took about 3 minutes and cost $5 with tip). So, I think it really depends on who is on the bus and where they are going; you could ask the driver when you get to the DLH or you could do a quick poll in the bus (which is what I did in January).
