View Full Version : Where in DLR do you get AAA discounts?
DizMe 05-15-2007, 10:39 PM I read on the meal plan thread that you can get 10% off, as a AAA member, at Goofy's Kitchen. I couldn't find any information on the AAA website about this and was wondering if this is true for all AAA members and whether there were other stores/restaurants in the resort that gave discounts as well.
Yes, I believe it's true for all AAA members. I'm not sure about shopping, but the restaurants I can recall that give a discount are these:
Goofy's Kitchen (DL Hotel)
Ariel's Grotto (DCA)
Plaza Inn (DL)
Wine Country Trattoria (DCA)
PCH Grill (Paradise Pier Hotel)
(I do hope someone can correct me if this list is inaccurate or missing things)
And you get a discount on both tickets and room ressies, in case you weren't aware of that :)

In addition to the ones already names, you can get a discount on the Walk in Walts Footsteps tour. No discounts in stores.
The old man 05-16-2007, 07:27 AM Remember my tale that I went to Ariels and no one knew about the discount. I was not given it. I would carry with you a print out from the AAA site with a discount list.
DizMe 05-16-2007, 08:58 AM Thanks! How do you get a list? I did a search on the AAA website but none of the Disneyland places was mentioned. I looked under 'discounts' and put in 'Anaheim.' Other restaurants and businesses came up, but nothing in DLR (except maybe Tortilla Joe's, which I think may be in DTD).
DizMe 05-16-2007, 09:03 AM Forgot to say that I had heard you could get a discount at Rainforest. Does anyone know about this? I also read that you could sign up as a member at any Rainforest and get 10% off but I haven't tried that. It's mentioned on their website but you have to apply in person. They do give a phone number so maybe you can do it over the phone.

I do know that if you buy a DL package through AAA they do offer a few more discounts at Downtown Disney with their "AAA Vacations Diamond" including free kids meals with purchase of adult's at the Rain Forest Cafe.
DizMe 05-20-2007, 06:33 PM Thanks!! The old man, I appreciate the website you gave. For some reason, when I go to the website and put in my zip code (which it asks for), it doesn't give me the same restaurants.
Disneyscrapper, thanks so much for that tip! I just booked a package with AAA and didn't know about the dining discounts you mentioned.
I noticed when I was booking my AAA package that if you opted for the character meals, there was no discount as part of the package. I am assuming that it would therefore be cheaper to book it yourself and present your card for the discount in person?

Are these discounts for Southern California AAA holders only? I just looked on the site (we live in Seattle) and the DL tix were the same price as the dl.com site, am I missing something?
Also, those dining discounts--CA only?
Thanks.
DizMe 05-21-2007, 10:37 AM kimc, that's the same question I have. I don't pull up those discounts from N CA either, but I've not yet received my AAA package to see if the brochure disneyscrapper references is included. When it gets here I'll let you know!
I recommend calling the AAA Travel Agents -- and ask for one with experience in booking DL vacations. You will probably get a lot more info from them than online. You don't have to commit to anything, just ask your questions.
