I now hold tickets to the Oct. 18th party. So far it is my friend (no costume), her fiance's son (costumed), and myself (costumed). We're waiting to hear from a friend if she and her son & boyfriend will be joining us. I'm excited not only for the party but this is my first time seeing Halloween Time as well.
If you see Strawberry Shortcake at DCA on 10/18, it's me. :)

Ok. Does anyone have a link to the website? My mom has clot in her foot and can't walk that much on it. She just wants to sit and watch the entertainment. What is playing by that big sun thing?

We went dressed as pirates on Thursday night. We got there a little late, but were able to see most of everything. The group we went with were from out of town and hadn't been there before. Everyone liked the Pirates setup they had over by the back Wharf. Had to stand in a line to get a picture with Goofy dressed up as a pirate. The candy they were handing out was good, even had the large sized bagged Kissables. I guess the most popular group we saw was dressed up like Flintstone buffaloes. We kept seeing them all night. There were two kid characters over by the Hyperion we didn't recognize. There was also a Snidely Whiplash character in front of the Golden Screams. We ended up with way too much candy, so I took it to work to share.

That's actually Bowler Hat Guy from "Meet the Robinsons".

We were there on the 4th also. Our kids really had a blast. We followed someone's advice from previous years and headed straight to Mickey & Minnie and then the princesses for photos. The villains were all out so we quickly got one group picture of all the villains at once with our kids. We had 1-2 people ahead of us in line for Mickey and same for the princesses. Then we trick-or-treated in a loop around Paradise Pier, went back and caught the rest of the princesses that weren't there before with a bit longer line this time, did Paradise Pier again as well as the boardwalk games a dozen times. Screamin' was a walk on. The kids had fun choosing their own seat instead of being directed to one. Then we headed for the pirate wharf and Hollywood. Things were busy by then at the pirates but that's okay as we weren't as interested in that part. Did rides and activities in Hollywood and then settled in for the parade at the Sun Wheel. It was cute and my daughter was really excited to be given a badge by someone in the parade. After the parade there was plenty of time to trick-or-treat through Grizzly River run territory and Soarin' before things started closing up. I thought there was plenty of time to do what we wanted, the kids got enough candy for them and enough for me to hand out this Halloween also. I was happy with all my pix of the night and my t-shirt from the event. Hope everyone else has a fun time on their night too!

I don't know if this question has been answered yet, but can anyone tell me what rides, attractions, and food places are open this year?

OK, forgive me if I sound stupid OR if this was already covered....
The Disneyland website says "Each ticket is valid for admission to the event and parking for one (1) vehicle (larger vehicles may require an additional fee) on the specified event date."
Does that mean I can go into Disneyland at noon that day and not have to pay to park or is it only valid after a certain time? I actually purchased 2 of the e-tickets July 2nd but also ended up with 2 paper tickets for guests and NEITHER type of tickets mention parking!

My tickets plainly state that the tickets are not valid for admission to the park before the event.

While the tickets state that they're not valid for theme park admission before the event, their site also states the tix include "Complimentary parking for one vehicle at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure". I can't see how they could enforce when you want to arrive to park in the structure.

Sorry if I didn't state it clearly... we have AP's I don't need park admission I just wondered about the parking and if it was parking for the event only or if I could use that parking for all day.
I'm still deciding if I want to do that anyway I've always had good luck with the ART bus'.

Do you not have parking privileges with your AP?

We went tonight (two adults, no kids) and had a blast! We couldn't believe that it was so empty!! We went on Ca Screamin' twice in a row and went right on both times. The longest we waited for probably any of the rides was five minutes. I got so much candy my hands hurt by the end of the night.
On the other hand, we got there in the afternoon and couldn't believe the crowds today!! What's up with that? Why was it so crowded?

I second the motion for a scan of the new map! If anyone would be so kind as to post it, that'd be great.

We went on Friday. Here are some observations:
They opened the gates at about 7 and did a "rope drop" just beyond the sun plaza.
Like last year, we headed straight to Mickey & Minnie (at the amphitheater across from Golden Dreams/Villians photo op.)
We had to go back to Hollywood Backlot to meet at 8:30. After that, we went BACK to Paradise Pier. The candy lines in Hollywood Backlot were stupid long. STUPID long. I don't know why but here's the lesson learned from Friday and previous years, too: go to the Hollywood Backlot LAST. At the end of the night the lines were fine. I didn't see anything like HB anywhere else all night.
The bags are small. I brought some reusable grocery bags from home (In this case, the black Vons bags if anyone's familiar with them.) I stuffed them, empty, into our backpack. I put one on the handles of our stroller after awhile and everyone just occasionally dumped their bags into the Vons bag.
When we got home we had one bag FULL and another bag started. (The stroller REALLY helped carry it.)
The Cars raisins were soooo cute.
There's something else I was going to add but I can't remember what now...

We went last Thursday and had a great time! I thought there was more to do than last year. The lines to see the characters were long, but doable. Last year the line to see Minnie and Mickey was UNREAL! And it did not move! This year there were characters and CMs dancing in the backlot stage area across from the Monster's Inc ride- we saw Sulley, Buzz, Woody, and Jessie. The CMs were dressed as witches and took the little kid's hands and danced with them. In front of the big fountain was another dance area with Remy and Emile. It was so cute to see the kids holding hands with Remy and dancing in a circle! My DD's costume was Remy, so she was in heaven dancing with him.
Much more fun than last year. :)

Hi all, just wondering if anybody was able to get a scan of the map. I forgot to grab one when I was there on Friday - DUH!
Thanks!!!!!!!

We had a great time. During the event I had the impression that the CMs were being a bit stingy with the candy, but when we got back to the room and sorted everything we ended up with over 300 pieces. They were definitely more generous as the night went on. In case you're curious, I've attached an Excel spreadsheet showing what we got and how many. :geek:
Didn't actually see the cavalcade but from what I hear we didn't miss much. The candy lines in Hollywood Backlot were incredible--it's completely true that people will just get in any line they see no matter what. On the other hand, the Flik's Fun Fair candy station had zero line.
