I don't think I will get it all written in one post. I am still siffting through my notes and mental pictures.

It all started at 3am last Sunday. We were all up and out of the house within 45 minuets. A family record. We were at the Calgary Airport by 4:10am. I am glad we live close and that our cab was ontime. We lined up and waited at the Alaska air ticket terminal and waited 25 min. for them to open. They don't onpen till 4:30 but for some reason we had to be there 3 hours befor our 7am flight but they didn't have to. Well oh well we were off to Disneyland. Nothing was going to spoil our good mood and big smiles.
We get checked into our flight and head through customs. No problems. Everything was running smoothly. We seemed to be off to a great start. We stop and grab breakfast sandwiches and head to our terminal.
My DS actually mad a friend. He and a little boy started playing at like 5:30 am. They were sooo cute. My son, Calvin, was telling this other boy all about DL since he had been there befor and was so happy to be going.
At 6:30 they started boarding our plane. At 7am we pull back from the terminal and STOP!!!! Yep we moved like 200 feet and STOP. I thought we were waiting to be taxied and thought nothing about it. I just read my book. At 7:30 they Piolet tells us there is a problem with the plane and that it is just minor. We are heading back to the terminal, but are not going to deboard the plane. It is a minor problem and the tech should have us up and running with in a few mins. At 8:oo am we are told that they have to shut the plane down completely and that we are now deboarding the plane. That we should collect all our belongings. We are now 1 hour behind shedual. So we all go back to the terminal and wait and wait and wait. I ask 1 of the flight attendants what will happen if they can't fix the plane they tell me they will rebook us onto different flight leaving out of any airline. So well after 2 1/2 hours and telling us 3 times that they have the plane fixed the decision to finally book us onto different flights was made. So here we go back throught the air port. Man did we get funny looks. We finally get onto a new flight at 12:45 to La on an Air Canada flight. And a coupon for lunch. Too bad it is already 11:20 and our plane boards in just over an hour. So back throught customs and all that junk.
Well to finish my long story I will say we did finally arive at our Hotel at 4:30 and had to re book my sons Goofy's Kitchen lunch for the next day as a dinner. We did get to do a little bit of shopping but by the time we had finally arived at our hotel were all cranky and tired. But we were Finally there.

I Love the Block of Orange or atleast the part we went through. What a neat shopping mall. I love the bright airy concept. I don't think I would have been as happy at an indoor mall. After being in the Airport for over 8 hours being inside was at the bootm of my list of things to do.

I don't think I will ever book another flight on alaska. The price difference really didn't make up for the horrible service. It wasn't that our flight got cancelled but the fact they took over 2 hours to do so. How many times can they fix a plane an it still be broken. I am about to send them a nice email expressing my feeling boust their airline and how it conducts itself during these problems.

Well I will try and write some more in a bit. Eventhough getting there was a trial we had a great trip. Got sunburned and warmed. I love every minuet of the trip.

I'm sorry you had a tough flight. My husband travels a lot, over 100 thousand flight miles a year and has had pretty much that same scenario happen on just about every major airline out there. So switching airlines may not help.

Well on Monday we got up early to do Early Entry. Calvin's eyes lit up as we walked into the park. Our first ride was Peter Pan and wow I now know why it is always busy. We then went on the teacups, King Arthors Carosell, both Dumbo rides and Alice. We walked around for awhile and went on the train. My sons new fav ride. My BF bought a dorky black and white hat and lotts of pins. Yep the guy who didn't want to go was running around the park in a dorky hat and a lanyard full of pins. At about 2 we headed back to the hotel for a swim and then walked up Katel to the K Mart to pick up a few things we forgot to get. When we got back to the hotel we changed and went to Goofy's for dinner. My ds got the Birthday Bucket and was happy with the stuffed Mickey and the pin.

We stayed at the Best Wester Stovalls and it was decent. We stayed on the ground floor on the oppisit side of the pool. It was decently quiet and in a great location. The walk tot the park was ok. It wasn't the shortest walk but we could have been further away. over all I was happy with the hotel.

Glad you had a good time.
Sorry to hear about the plane trouble. We used Alaska on both flights we have taken from Calgary to Anaheim, and they have been wonderful! I will always choose them, since they leave early and arrive back home late. I think it was just a fluke that it happened on your flight. It was pretty nice here in Calgary during the time you were away, but it's not even close to California weather this time of year.
I love how the men that are not too excited to go, turn into the biggest Disney fashion mishaps!
