We are regulars at the Beach Club and for good reason...except this trip we found our room was never vacuumed.sheets maybe were changed once in 7 days and one night there was even a trail of garbage..wrappers etc.leaving the room to the hallway. The sink area was pretty grungy as weel.I called on morning to housekeeping for toilet paper and they never came. That same day the room was cleaned after 5pm..do I write the general mgr or call him.I told the front desk upon checkout which I was not even going to do but dh felt its alot of money spent and to see the room like that was not acceptable. They gave me the mgr name and address and fax..is that the way to go?

It's a good rule of thumb to put everything in writing, That way there can be no "missed" phone calls. Be sure to include all your contact information should they choose to contact you in return.
Good Luck!

That's not good at an expensive hotel. Definitely write to the manager and air your views!

I know that hind-site is 20/20, but if you were there for 7 days, I would have brought it up to the managers attention the moment you realized that service was lacking in the housekeeping section. I think that you still need to give feedback now, but you may have received better results while you were still in the middle of your trip.

I know that people dont want to waste vacation time discussing complaints with management but then again, they cant make anything better for you if you tell them as you are walking out the door.

Let us know if you get any response from the hotel management.

Received a phone call from WDW and they are giving us a free night BC/YC as well as 3 days of no expiration passes. The cast member added those passes in at the end and said it is a year of a million dreams!:D

So, I have to ask.... did you write the letter to WDW back when you first started this thread and they are finally getting back to you 6 months later?

Also, I would make sure that you get their little offer in writing.

But none the less, glad they did something for you.

wrote 2 letters to head of Beach Club no response, then 2 letters to corporate and no response and after emailing them I got a fast response and they are mailing the packet within 3 weeks time..hopefully I can adjust my package then.

I have to say that we experienced some pretty poor housekeeping on our most recent trip staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We should have complained while we were still there, but we just never wanted to take the time out of our vacation.

On arrival we discovered items left behind from the previous guests, including a toothbrush and zit cream on the floor behind one of the sinks. The worst though was a pair of underwear under the bed. Apparently the housekeeping staff doesn't vacuum too well. There was all kinds of stuff under the bedskirt.

You are paying good money for the room and should be compensated.Like I said they responded to my email very quickly (within a week and I have a direct number to call them)

We got back a week ago from Port Orleans Riverside. Our room was pretty sad as well. The first night we got in very late and we were very tired. I noticed there were stickers all over the table and chairs, and I have young kids so I thought they were just missed, until I see our clock radio is unplugged. I reach down to plug it in and there is gum wrappers, and grooming brushes from a mans shaver. So i picked them up and tossed them and we went to bed. No problem right, wrong. The next day after returning to the room, we see how gross and dirty the carpet is, and not from us, we think it was there from the previous guest, but its just the carpet right, so my MIL climbs into bed, to find that the bottom sheet is still all rumpled up and in a wad in the middle of the bed. She pulls the sheet down to find a pair of undies, and yes they were not hers. Then she looks at the sheet and sees that it has been enjoyed by the previous guests. And we have already spent the night in them. YUCK!! We immediantly called the manager to complain (bed, floor, garbage, mold shower curtain), and he said he would send his best crew to change the sheets, and completely clean the room. It was 12pm, we just wanted to go to bed. It took them 45 min to come to the room and change the sheets. It was very awkward seeing them eyeballing us and talking in spanish about us, as we are sitting there watching them work in our pj's. When they brought the sheets it took them not 1, not 2 not 3, but 6 sets before they found a clean set of sheets. The manager also promised us a top to bottom cleaning the next day when we were gone, with a manager walk through. When we came back to our room, still no vacuuming had been done, the stickers were still all over, and the moldy shower curtain was still hanging. But we did get a really nice towel animal. At check out I complained about the room, I didn't even get an acknowledgement that she heard me.

YUK! I was there about the same time as you and my experience was opposite. It was much cleaner than I thought it might be. The upper shelf on the wall was even dusted. The room smelled of bleach the 3rd and 8th day. I did drop the remote during sleep one night. It fell behind the headboard. NOW THAT WAS GROSS. I'm sure they don't clean behind there often. Can you tell me WHY people bite off their fingernails and toss them behind a bed???

Except for that (which I never would've known had I not dropped the remote), the room was clean. We had a complete set of towels each day. The bathtub, sink area, and flooring was clean. Our room was vacuumed and dusted. We were satisfied with our room.

I think it all boils down to Mousekeeper to Mousekeeper.....

My dd threw up in the bed last summer at the Poly and thats one way to get someone in there with clean sheets....Also were talked about in Spanish, which dd speaks, she answered them, and they immediately turned red, but we had a fresh room all week, I asked her what they said, she said "they called dad fat, and I told them "the man likes his food":D

LMAO! One of my roommates is a Spanish linguist for the Air Force and we always find it's handy to have her around for communicating with the mousekeepers... <flashback to me half-dressed and less than half-awake screaming through the wall "JEN! I NEED A SPANISH LINGUIST!">
