We had a strange experience on one of our VMK characters. I logged on to our boy character to collect his credits, but was called away from the computer shortly after I started. After a while, I asked my daughter to move him so I didn't get disconnected.

When she got over to the computer, she told me there was a "disturbing" message from VMK on the screen. It indicated that the character had been revealing personal information and cautioned that the result could be being banned from VMK. She deleted it, and found a second one. Unfortunately, she didn't check the dates on the messages before she deleted them.

The oddest thing about this is that all I'd done is collect credits from two rooms before I left the computer. I hadn't spoken a single word. Before I logged on, we'd been gone a week at camp with no computer access. There are no other VMK players in our house, and nobody else has access to our characters.

Does anybody know what generates these warnings? If you're in a room where an inappropriate conversation is taking place but not part of the conversation, are you included with those who get warnings? I'm completely puzzled...

No, you have to say whatever it is that's inappropriate to get a warning, it looks like they sent you it by mistake. I would usually say let them know about it, but it does no good!

I have been told that you can receive a warning for being in a room where inappropriate activity is taking place. That said, the only warning I've ever received was during a trade. I was trading gold Mickey ears for some chairs for my quest room. The person I was trading with offered 19 chairs, and I asked her "how many ears do you want?" Apparently the VMK filter looks for inappropriate phrases, and the phrase "how many ears" triggers a warning because it could be considered a solicitation of someone's age. I thought about sending a message to the staff to explain that I wasn't being inappropriate, but decided to let it drop.

If you think there is any reason to suspect that your account has been hacked, change the password ASAP.

They will send that warning to everyone in the room where someone was 'giving out personal information'.
