Ok. We are getting ready to move up to N Cal in about 8 weeks (wow that sounds short:eek: ) and we are getting very excited about all of the things that there are to do in the area. We are intrested in getting season passes for Discovery Kingdom but have a few questions...first off I read somewhere but can't find it now that season passes are only good for Jan-Dec. of the year regardless of when you purchase them. Is that right? or are my months wrong? also are they open every day through the winter months or do they go to a seasonal schedule? my DH wants to know if since the change in ownership (and name) have there been any significant changes? He went there as a kid (15 years ago or so) and remembers there being alot less there. Any insider tips would be great...Thanks!

The park is not open year round. I had thought I had heard some talk of them being open for a Christmas event last year, but it never happened. So yeah, the pass is only good for the operating year in which you purchase it, not a year from when you purchase it.

I haven't been yet this year, so I can't vouch for the improvements but based on pictures I've seen they've added some nice signs and theming.

They are normally open from mid-Feb until last day of October. I don't believe they are open every day until end of May. We had season passes 2 years ago, but decided this year to get season passes to Great America. We live in Sacramento, which is about 2 hours away from San Jose.

In summertime, it does get really hot in Vallejo.

The ads they are running now are for a season pass @ $69.95 and you get 5 tickets for friends/family. It might be a better investment than buying season passes for the whole family...depending on how many times you were planning on going.
