 I've never sailed with Disney before and so am not sure how much information I'll receive prior to cruising. Will we know ahead of time what nights are formal, semi-formal, Golden Mickeys, Pirates, etc.? Not sure how to plan what nights to make reservations for Palo and Flounder's Reef.

Also, this may be a really dumb question but does the boat stop at any point along the canal? The intinerary says PANAMA 6:00 AM to 8:00PM. Is this just the amount of time it takes to get thru the canal or is there an actual stop where one could get off the ship??

Any info from previous repo/other cruisers appreciated!!!!

Officially, we won't know what nights are which until we board. We are working to get the details in advance, but figure we won't know until a couple of months before sailing.

You can expect 2 formal nights and 2 semi-formal nights.

Last time, there was no stop in Panama. Given the time posted here, assume that will be true again for this trip. We entered the first lock at about 6am, and cleared the canal at about 4pm. The extra hours are there because we transit timing can vary depending on other traffic.

Tony is absolutely correct. The ship does not stop anywhere in the Canal Zone (the time you enter the Canal to the time you leave). The amount of time given for the transit can vary greatly depending on the type of ships that are going through.

The Disney ship, becuase of its size, is given a reservation time to start the Canal transit but several things can happen when in the canal and the final transit time can be longer or shorter then stated. It is alot of fun and is very warm and humid. If you have never done this sailing before, you are in for a treat and I would suggest exploring the entire ship at different times to get different vantage points of the canal. One of the most interesting thisgs is to go through one lock at the top of the sip, one lock at eyelevel and one lock so you can see the move up the lock. What I mean by this is that if you can see yourself rising through the lock, it is incredible.

This will be my fourth trip through the Canal and it has been fascinating every time.
