I'm not from CA and I'll be driving in to go to Disneyland on 4/22. I'm not sure what to do with my daughter on the 21st. I thought perhaps Universal Studios but then I remembered Legoland. I have never been there. I was thinking it is really far from Anaheim but Mapquest says it's about an hour. Is that true? Also, many of the photos of Legoland show children in bathing suits. Isn't it too cold in April? Would my 5 year old freeze her tooshy off? (Actually... she wouldn't care if her lips were turning blue but I'd rather not freeze MY butt off!) Are the majority of the good rides "wet" rides? She is 46" so I'm not sorried about what she can/can't ride. I also see people on eBay offering 2 for 1 coupons, does anyone know the source of these? (Are they easily available?)
Thanks for any input!

I have been to Legoland twice. I have 2 boys & they love it. The 2nd time I went we had my 3 years old neice and she had a great time. My 6 years old keeps asking to go back. It has been a couple of years since my last trip and I can only recall 1 water ride. We have never gotten wet (except for the rain) while there. We bought our tickets through AAA and got 2 days for the price of one. It is only about 1 or so hour drive. Have fun.

Legoland is much better for a 5 year old than Universal. At 46" she will be able to do everything. The water stuff is all in one part of the park and will probably be closed in April unless it's warmer than normal.

The water park area is, and will be, open. If you want her to use it be sure to bring a towel for her. Unfortunately the lockers are not near the water area. The weather will be between the mid 60's to the mid 70's. There is a about a 15% chance of overcast.

Thanks for all the wonderful replies. This is exactly what I wanted. Thanks! I may bypass the wet stuff. I'm a Las Vegas girl, I can take 120 heat but 60 degrees I need a jacket!

Tickets.... It seems to me that buying a Child's "Membership PLUS" Annual Pass is actually the cheapest way to go. That seems rather odd to me! The Child's PLUS Membership for $108 includes FREE Parking ($10) and a Complimentary Ticket. So if I bought and Adult and Child's ticket, plus parking I am looking at $111. With a Child's "Membership PLUS" Annual Pass we would pay $108 for her pass, my Complimentary Admission and would include parking but would ALSO give her a Magazine Membership PLUS 20% off Dining and 10% off Merchandise. What an ODD pricing structure.... WORKS FOR ME!!
You could even take it a step farther if you have someone’s ticket that was used in the past 30 days and use that value towards the pass. If that were possible then it could all be done for $64. That's insane!

Costco sells 2-day Legoland tickets for $40.95. Same price for child's ticket as adults.
When I ask my boys (7 and 5) which would they choose: Disneyland or Legoland? They always choose Legoland. They love the 'build and race your own car.'
For the past 2 years we've gone either at Christmas or Thanksgiving and Legoland gives you a free ticket (for every paid ticket) to return before the following April. Not sure if they do it every year.
We are actually going with the Southern California CityPass this holiday season and will not be going to Legoland. Hopefully the boys won't ask and we won't tell them!:crying:
