I read in a Runners Wor (http://forums.runnersworld.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=964101347&f=960108738&m=6831046262&r=6801029262#6801029262)ld forum that they are adding a 13K (wierd distance 8.08 miles) in WDW in late October. That would be a cool one to do with Hallowing going on. The race will be at 9 pm. Are resort rooms already hard to come by this time of year?

That sounds cool. Is that going to be this year? I might have to go! :)

Yes, it is this year. The date is Saturday, October 27th.

I would guess the 13K was intentional, playing into it being Halloween time!

Wish I could go! Have fun, to those who do, and let us know how it is.

This will be a "must do" Inugural race:) It will be great to walk to the start and back from the race without having to ride a bus:) No standing in lines or waiting around for 2 hrs. I already have my airline tickets and BWV room reservations. Just need to wait for the race app. No RFTT this year.

Anyone have any insight into whether the medal for this race will be a real "keeper"? I am running in the Disneyland 1/2 in September and the WDW Full in January. So I am debating if I really want to make another Disney running trip in such a short time (of course I want to, but budgets, budgets, budgets). A great medal will be the perfect excuse to push me over the edge - the theme of this run could make for a very cool medal.

What do you all think?

What's RFTT? I really tried to figure it out on my own, but I can't...and now I need to know!!

My guess (and that's all it is) is Race for the Taste - that is normally done in conjunction with the Food & Wine Festival. (I had to look at an older article by Scopa because I was pretty sure he'd mentioned it at one point or another)

RFTT is Race for the Taste 10K held on 10/7/07 that ends at EPCOT.

I'm registered for the TZTOT 13K and have already booked my room.

Thanks for letting us know the registration is open, Mike!

Now I have to get a room. My friend sounds like she wants to stay at the moderate, so we will likely be at one of those instead of Pop Century.

Alex and I are both registered.

This sounds so fun it would almost be enough to get me to enter something like this. Hmmmmm.

I looked for it - but couldn't find it -

Anyone know what kind of time you have to have on the 6.5k? Or where on the official page I could find that?

Drince, from above:

The party lasts until 1 AM, so the sooner you finish, the longer you have to party!

Well, if that's the only criteria for timing, I may just have to do this!

(I don't run, but if I build myself up, I could probably walk 6.5k at a pretty good clip.)

I think I'm definitely going to have to do this as well. With any luck I can rope in a couple of my girlfriends and make it a fun weekend away without spouses/kids.

Ohh, this is driving me crazy. I want to do it, but I can't book my stuff until I find out my wifes school schedule for next year. GRRRRRR. This better not sale out fast.

I talked with someone on the phone number listed to contact about event registration (even though she said they were just doing registration). She said there was no capacity on the run, so that should be good news for you, RunninDisney.

She also said 'well the website should have any time limit information, just keep checking back' - yea, right. But she said 16 minute miles were the 'standard' for most of the events - which translates to 3.75 miles/hr, so I think we'll be ok if we can maintain the fast walk for the whole 6.5 K.

See everyone there! We'll be the ones walking!

I've made my room reservation, now all we need is Southwest to release the fares! My Ding! is installed and ready.

Is anyone interested in doing a MousePad meet? Maybe we could all meet to ride the ToT at a certain time? I'm guessing I'll finish in about 1:75", but hopefully quicker than that. How about a midnight scream at the ToT?
