In a multi-network, multi-advertiser deal that involves all of its units, Disney has recently signed a $1-billion advertising package that is considered to be the largest ever in the industry, surpassing last year's $300 million deal between Procter & Gamble (makers of Tide detergent and Crest toothpaste) and Viacom Inc. (which includes CBS and MTV).

QuikQuote: "In addition to selling commercial time on ABC, ESPN networks, ABC Family, Lifetime, A&E Networks and other Disney properties, the Burbank-based company also agreed to joint program-production deals with advertisers, joint funding of television specials and sporting events as well as product placements in shows, sources with knowledge of the deal said."
