My scales are gonners.

I need to get some new ones, but I don't know what to get.

They are a bit expensive so I want to get some that I might be happy with.

What kind do you have and do you like them?

Food scales or people scales?

People scales - I don't own one. I weigh in once-a-week at my WW meeting.

Food - I have the older WW brand one, that weighs in grams and ounces. When I earn a new star (not re-earn one  ) I get to buy the new one that has food lists in it and actually gives you the points for what you're weighing! (Gotta have a non-food reward in sight, even if it's a sight I need a telescope to see!)

Mine was a freebie for answering a long online survey. The brand name is Thinner (never heard of it), but it uses electrical resistance, age, sex, and athleticism to calculate body fat percentage. And it stores the profiles for up to six people. The "athletic" setting is for people who exercise regularly (30+ minutes/day), and it lowers the percentage significantly.

I have a digital scale I bought at Target for weighing myself.

If you're asking about food scales, I don't have one but am interested. How much is the one you have your eye on Drince? Is it only available at WW centers?

I thought my sister bought one (she's doing WW at home/online or whatever it's called now - but maybe it was just the points calculator she bought). I think it's in the 40-50 range, so definitely a reward thing for me!

You don't have to be a member to buy things at our center - not sure if they're all set up the same, though.

At our center, I know that people who are doing WW online come in to buy things without weighing in. The leader and receptionist have talked about it.

The bathroom scale is a WW scale I picked up at Costco about a year ago, it's digital and looks like a pane of pale green glass, so we have a tendancy to NOT use it right out of the shower. I like it, it's easy to read. It's got settings to keep four different peoples weights and loss/gain records, which we don't use. Also, I've discovered, that if I move it about 4 inches away from the wall I can lose about 6 pounds in a heartbeat. It doesn't weigh the same at the scale at my center, but it DOES keep track of whether you're up or down.

My kitchen scale is digital also, I don't know what the brand is, I got it NIB from eBay. When I got it and set it up I realized it weighs in grams and no, it doesn't have something to switch it to ozs. I was thinking of giving it away and getting another one but then I thought hey...we should probably learn to convert grams anyway. So now it's second nature...AND it's WAY easy to follow Alton Brown's waffle recipe too.
