Hello,

Okay, I've searched but I can't seem to find a definitive answer. We will be on the DDP. Be it a sit down or Counter service meal, will you be able to order anything off of the menu??

I understand that snacks in certain locations will have a special indicator on the menu on what you can order but what about at the counter service/table service restaraunts?

Thanks again.

for snacks, yes, they do have a DDP logo, but really, it's most anything below $4. even if it doesn't have the logo (i watched a cashier at POFQ's food court try to explain that to a guest)

no real limits that i'm aware of for CS and TS locations. it should be obvious what your choices are.

Re: Counter Service

I'd have to say yes. I have yet to encounter a time (out of 4 trips, all on the DP) when I was told "no" to an order. It's pretty basic. You get a food item, dessert and a drink.

Re: Table Service

Pretty much. There are only a few exceptions, and your server will tell you about them when they greet you. A few examples: desserts/appetizers that are meant for two (however if you're with somebody who wants to share that menu item with you then you and that other person can order it together), alcohol, sometimes smoothies count as your drink, sometimes they don't, etc.

The wait staff is usually really good at explaining things. Another example of a "tweak": When we ate at Cap'n Jack's a few weeks ago, although this wasn't listed on the menu, because we were on the DP, we got a free lobster tail with any entree, except if we ordered the twin lobster tails (funny side note, I got a 3rd lobster tail anyway cuz Tracy didn't eat hers - lol, that was the first time I ever OD'd on lobster).

In summation, "pretty much" says it all. So have a look at the menus (http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm) of places that are on the Dining Plan and go nuts! :)

Okay, great that is what I thought. I was getting confused especially when that other thread about the Premium DDP came up, this all goes back to overplanning this vacation I think. Everything is starting to get muddled together, I can't keep anything straight anymore.

We have done this at Le Cellier a few times - wow! It becomes very easy to "OD" on some real rich food!!:D

It's funny... the only way I enjoy it is if I have over-planned things. The one time in the last couple years we went on short notice without the needed reservations we did not enjoy it anywhere near the same.

This time is a bit extreme with the premium plan. I have planned 6 tours, 16 meals (mostly signature), and 19 recreational things from golf and para-sailing to Cirque du Soleil. I hope it is worth all this planning!

Always ask the server "is there anything additional we can get on the dining plan?" Because the servers get tipped from the dining plan based on your check total they are always willing to add whatever is possible. We have received an "extra lobster tail" on a number of DDP meals at Le Cellier, Narcoosee's, Coral Reef, and Teppanyaki.

Well, CW, considering we are both going to be down there about the same time, if I see anyone rushing from ADR to ADR...I'll know it's you!!

We are more the casual, semi planning types.

I am sure that we will both enjoy our vacations!:p

That's so funny. My DH says that for me planning must be at least half the fun. I plan vacations we don't ever take. Just in case we might get to go. The hardest thing about this vacation is that a lot of the planning isn't up to me. We won the trip, so I don't have a say in the hotel, the airline, or much in the times of the flights. Nor much in the time of the trip. But food - that's all mine for planning. Unfortunately, we don't get the DDP as an option, or I'd be using that as well.

Lobster Tail at Le Cellier and/or Coral Reef? Was this a LONG time ago? Dang! <drooling>

One note about what's been said so far: You do not always get to pick from the dessert menu. Many places (Tony's Town Square comes to mind) have one dessert for all DDP members and you aren't allowed to stray from that. This is a newer thing in the past year, I think, and it was disappointing, but you take what you can get.

I'll be looking for the smoke behind you!!! Too funny!! As long as we all enjoy, that is all that is important.:)

Hey, I'm up for anything!

I've done a good deal a planning for family and friends and would be happy to offer anyone ideas and suggestions based on who is going and what the budget is!

Now how could I make this into something that kept me supported? Wouldn't that just be the best?!?
