I was at my local running shop (buying new sneakers) and was asking a few questions about a GPS watch. I currently have an older Timex Ironman GPS watch that I'm not (nor have I ever been) all that happy with. The store employee brings me over to his laptop and shows me this:

This site is GREAT!!! If you're not familiar with it, simply click Start recording (after you've input s starting location, home address etc)...double click a spot (where you'd start your run/walk and continue down a specific route you'd like to take. It maps it out and tracks the mileage.

Take care,

Yes, it is great! I think I've posted about it here before. I first learned about it when Alex used it to calculate distances from the various Anaheim hotels to the DL gates. :)

Hi Steph....

I LOVE it!!! I'm fairly new to my neighborhood and have been pretty much running the same route for a while now. Even though I knw the streets pretty well, it helps to be able to visual where you'll be running and the distance you'll be trekking! I've got my long runs already mapped out 4 weeks in advance.

Also, the guy at the store saved me (at least for now) a couple of hundred on a new watch and mileage/heart monitor system. :)

I use it too and totally love it!

But....I've used it for over a year now, and I must admit those snazzy gps watches are starting to catch my eye!!!

I love it too! It's great since I'm at college, and only know a 1 square mile area around campus, so it helps me a lot. There's a bike path, but it's not marked, so I was able to use that to track the mileage.
