View Full Version : Magic Your Way Premium Plan Dining Question
jellytot 03-14-2007, 12:48 PM Hi - is there anyone logged on who can answer my question about the Magic Your Way Premium Dining please?
Are there restrictions on what you can choose from the menu with the Premium Plan? For instance if I have dinner in Narcoosees is there a special section that Premium Plan customers (or even DDP customers, come to that) have to choose from? I naively thought that I could have anything from the menu (as long as it was an appetiser, an entree and a dessert), but now I've read something on MousePlanet to suggest that I'll be restricted in my choices.
If anyone has tried the Premium Plan perhaps they can help me as this will be my first time staying at Disney! Thanks a lot for your help.
Greg in TN 03-14-2007, 12:58 PM Have not purchased the Premium Dining Plan, but have booked the MYW Dining Plan on multiple occassions. Everywhere we've been, the menus are wide open; if it's on the menu, you can order it. Only restriction we've seen is a child, under 10, has to order from the kids menu if one is available.
Again, this is my experience with the regular MYW Dining Plan, not the Premium Dining Plan (but seems to me, if something is called "Premium" it would be even better than the "regular" one).
geoffa 03-14-2007, 01:07 PM As I understand it:
As for dining, you get 3 sit down meals per day almost anywhere! TS credits are not counted which means you can go to signature restaurants every night if you want and it only counts as your one meal. Dinner shows are also included so you can do HDDR, Poly Luau and Mickey's Backyard B-B-Q for dinners without it being "2 credits"- it's just considered dinner. You can order whatever you fancy from the menu. It includes all character meals too so if you want to do a character breakfast every morning, go for it.
If you like to eat TS and try new & expensive restaurants that you ordinarily wouldn't be able to try and you have the extra time to take advantage of the shows & sports WDW has to offer then it's a wonderful plan and I would do it in a heartbeat. No worries about how many credits or how much dinners are- it's paid in advance. I believe it's also like the dining plan in that at each meal you are allowed to get appetizer, entree & dessert.
Alcoholic beverages are extra. I think the only exception to the plan is Victoria & Alberts.
You also get admission to La Nouba - the Cirque du Soleil show.
One important bit - everybody in your party has to do the same thing - restaurant, dinner show, etc at the same time- you can't opt for Mom and daughter to do one thing and Dad and son do something else.
One thing people forget - gratuities are INCLUDED in this package so unless you have received totally outstanding service you don't need to tip.
What specific bit on Mouseplanet has led to your doubts?
bradk 03-14-2007, 01:42 PM the only restriction i was ever aware of was mama melrose for the fantasmic dining package, but that will change shortly.
they actually removed lobster from the coral reef menu, many presuming because they dropped it down to 1 TS credit.
i've only been on the dining plan once for 8 or 9 nights, but never had any real restrictions except at kona where i was told i couldn't have an appetizer for breakfast, but whatever.

Chicago Wookiee 03-15-2007, 12:33 PM I've been on the premium plan twice and will be on it again this June.
On occasion we have been told we can't get a large sampler appetizer platter just any two single appetizer or something along that line. We have encountered no other restrictions. Sometimes it pays to ask "what more can we get with this meal that would be included in the dining plan and your tip?" Yes that seems an odd question but every time we have eaten at Le Cellier we have been able to order an add-on lobster tail  :D and have it included in the package. I always add the tip part because the more expensive your meal the higher the servers tip is.
In June we are eating at Royal Table, Brown Derby, Jiko, Citricos, Hoop-Dee-Doo, and Aloha that are all signature meals that only take one dining credit when on the premium plan.
Do note that you should save all your receipts and check your dining credit balance as sometimes the servers charge two credits when they should only charge one.
Also remember to make those dining ADR's at day 180 or you will miss out on some key meals. Also remember to make any recreation or reserved fireworks seating at the 90 day mark so you get what you want!
RunninDisney 03-15-2007, 01:02 PM How much more is the premium plan than the regular dining plan?

Yes I'd like to know what is charged for each level of the dining plans.
bradk 03-15-2007, 01:55 PM i'm not sure the premium is really an escalation of the dining plan per se. there's also the platinum plan (although the higher one, i think platinum? requires staying at a deluxe i think).
it's really an expansion of the MYW package.
details of it (no pricing) is here:

the irony is, while i'm sure you pay per night for it, it's the longer your stay that it really factors in. unlimited recreational and tours, etc.
here's the platinum plan

jellytot 03-19-2007, 01:07 PM Thanks to everyone for your replies.
In answer to the question about how much more the Platinum plan is - I have just done a quick quote on the system and the Platinum Plan is 700 dollars more than the Premium Plan for 2 people. So 350 dollars each. Not sure whether its worth it, but when you break it down per person it might be - especially as you get to have dinner at Victoria and Alberts!
BradK thanks for the links to the packages! Extremely helpful as we muddle our way trying to determine if MYW or not is best for our family of four.

in approx 3 wks we will be at wdw(yacht club) with the platinum plan which for dining purposes is just preminum except albert and victorias has been added to the platinum. I have been assured by our disney int.planner that menus are wide open for preminum and platinum plans. so have a ball; as we sure are going to make the most of it.
