View Full Version : Must see attractions in Epcot for 3 yo Nala27 03-13-2007, 06:50 PM I know the Living Seas has Nemo tied to it now but what else is there a 3 yo would like at Epcot? Which park has that Nemo stage show? Thanks! Drince88 03-13-2007, 07:00 PM Animal Kingdom has the Nemo stage show. I know some kids LOVE Spaceship Earth (the big 'golf ball') but my almost 3 yr old nephew thought it was 'weird' and now at 20, all he remembers about that time is that it was an odd experience. The Character Connection next to Innoventions as you head towards The Land tends to have not excessive lines to meet the classic characters. efoxx 03-13-2007, 08:42 PM inoventions east and west has some good things for smaller kids. inparticular there is a cool fire safety game in inoventions west that is fun for the whole family. Soaring can be fun if the 3yr old is big enough, as is test track. Jouney into your imagination with figment is a big hit, and so is the imagination play area at the rides exit. If your child has a fascination for dinosaurs then Ellen's energy exchange may be fun although the beginning may be a bit boring. out in WS all the pavilions have Kidcot stops that will be a lot of fun, the new boat ride in mexico will likely be a crowd pleaser, and finally if your toddler is adventursome he/she may like maelstrom. Also many characters can be found out in WS, so be sure to check the maps and do an autograph hunt while you are there. remember Epcot can be a lot of fun for kids, it's my kids favorite park, and has been for years. jengold29 03-14-2007, 03:36 AM How tall is he? My kids at 3 loved Soarin' and Figment. If he likes to color, than collecting the lanyards/masks may be fun too. geoffa 03-14-2007, 04:05 AM If he's into characters you can usually find Aladdin around Morocco but check this with guest services. Sometimes Mary Poppins is at the U.K. pavilion and Belle and the Beast are at France. The new boat ride "Grand Fiesta" at Mexico based on 3 Caballeros will feature Donald getting lost in Mexico whilst his friends search for him. It's planned to open April 2nd. geoffa 03-14-2007, 04:06 AM Sorry - duplicate post. frdeb1999 03-14-2007, 04:14 AM My 10 yr old daughter and I went on Figment. That in my opinion is extremely cute. And they have some cute things at the end you can do on computers and such. Also, Turtle talk with Crush is wonderful. Unless he's really adventurous I would be leery of Soarin as it can be a bit intimidating. Although it is a wonderful ride. garethanders 03-14-2007, 05:01 AM Hi i have read alot of the post and did not see anyone mention the kid cot stops. (well if you have i am sorry i must be blind) These are found all around the world showcase which gives the kids a time to sit in the shade if its a hot day and the parents time to chill out and rest those feet. Vegitabeta 03-14-2007, 05:03 AM Also, if your 3 year old doesn't get scared easily, there's Maelstrom in Norway, the boat ride. Udragon 03-14-2007, 05:53 AM Your 3 YO will love Turtle Talk with Crush and so will you. SJK 03-17-2007, 08:35 AM Hi i have read alot of the post and did not see anyone mention the kid cot stops. Turtle talk is great for the kids! I agree with GAREHANDERS about the Kid's Stops. The kids are full of energy but the parents need some sit down time and these spots are a great little rest stop. My kids also like the outdoor train in Germany. JeffG 03-25-2007, 12:52 PM I've tried to take our 3-year-old to Turtle Talk (at DCA rather than Epcot, but I believe they are essentially identical shows) a couple times now and it completely freaks him out. On each occasion (about 4 months or so apart), I had to take him out of the theater shortly after it started. Obviously, other kids may react differently, but keep in mind that the show may not work for absolutely every kid that age. Our son's favorite attraction at Epcot is definitely Spaceship Earth, by the way. -Jeff ahoyel 04-16-2007, 08:46 AM For rides like Maelstorm, it requires your child to be 3. My son will be 2 yrs, 11 months. Will I be able to walk right on with him. I cant imagine what they would check, but just though I would ask. Disney doesn't typically do minimum ages on rides since they are so difficult to enforce. They usually opt for height restrictions and that ride doesn't have one. In fact, I'm pretty sure my son rode it when he was 2. I could see where there might be some recommendations out there that suggest 3-and-up as appropriate ages for that ride as it is a bit scary, particularly with the backwards motion. That would almost certainly be a suggestion rather than a requirement, though. -Jeff ahoyel 04-16-2007, 09:59 AM Not sure where I read that...I just googled it last night and saw it. I agree with you though, as it would be pretty much unenforceable anyways. Thanks. Mrs. GusMan 04-18-2007, 08:11 AM We took GusJr on Maelstrom in Feb 2006 and he wasnt 2 yet. He did fine and no one tried to stop us at all. This year may be a different story. I put him on one of those rides at the mall for a quarter that just goes up and down and he jumped out and would not go back on it even when it was not moving. Wish us luck at Disney this August.
