disneylandlvr13 03-11-2007, 01:39 PM anybody know how busy sfmm has been lately?? im goin on the 4 of april and will be spending 3 other days at disneyland but was wondering how busy it mite be?? ive gone before but have never rode x or tatsu yet...soo ws just wondering how to plan the day..any info would be great
Darkbeer 03-11-2007, 01:52 PM Spent the morning at SFMM today for a Coaster event... 2 hours of riding "X", Tatsu and Viper with almost no lines before it opened to park guests.
By the time we left around Noon, it was very busy. The park goes to 7 days a week mode this Friday.
Get there early.... I saw cars lining up to enter almost 2 hours before park opening (at least 40 cars at 8:10 when I was riding "X"). Buy your tickets in advance, the Six Flags website has a almost half price special if you "Print n' Go" online, get in line before park opening at LEAST 30 minutes as head of time Go straight to "X" and ride it, it will be the shortest wait you will have all day.
Then either head to Tatsu, or go back to the Main Entry area and by the Flash Pass, this will let you bypass most of the lines on 4 rides for $20, use one for Tatsu.
You will be attending during Peak Easter Break, so be prepared for large crowds.
disneylandlvr13 03-11-2007, 02:56 PM ok thanks...i definately will be getting there at least 2 hours ahead of time..it opens i think at 10..and leaving paradie pier at 7 on the 4th...but i had heard that the crowds havent been as bad as they were becuz of disneyland and taking some away..however it is spring break...and i also know that x has a really bad customers per hour i thinks it called in the loading station..thanks for the info tho..i will have to look into that pass thing
disneylandlvr13 03-11-2007, 03:01 PM also...its been about 2 yrs since ive been..but the fastest way to x is go up the gradual hill...like going to viper...then go up the stairs and over the bridge rite???
Darkbeer 03-11-2007, 03:36 PM First off, while the distance is about 60 miles from Anaheim to SFMM, one a weekday, it will take LONGER than an hour to drive the route. Heck, this morning, it was closer to 80 minutes from Tustin (just south of Anaheim) to SFMM, and that is with very light traffic on an EARLY Sunday Morning, leaving at 6 AM! There was just one minor traffic issue, but still parts of the trip had moderate traffic. On a Wednesday morning, driving thru LA, I would plan for at LEAST 2 hours of driving... Think about leaving closer to 6 AM to get to the parking lot toll booths by 8:40 AM (the gates open at 9 AM). If you get up a few minutes early, you can always stop at the Wendy's on Magic Mountain Parkway and the I-5 and grab a bite to eat (but more than likely you won't have time).
And yes, to get to "X", head south (basically the way you enter thru the turnstiles) you will see it, it is the first major coaster once you get to the top of Magic Mountain Pkwy. Once you pass under a bridge while headed to Viper, make the first right up a staircase, then make a U-turn towards the right to go over the bridge, this will take you to the entrance to the "X" queue.
disneylandlvr13 03-11-2007, 07:52 PM thx...ok well then..thx for the heads up..the park opens at 10:30 not 10 but still..if we leave at 6..whoa thats early..oh well..ok thanks again
We will be in Disneyland on April 13th, then on the 14th, Saturday, we will be driving to Magic Mountain. Do you think we need to leave 2 hours before since it is a Saturday. Will we have enough time to ride X, then go back to the main gate for the Flash Pass?

If you want to be one of the first at "X", you need to leave before 7 AM, especially on a Saturday morning. I have hit traffic trying to get to Six Flags early morning many times on weekends.
Get on the road around 7 AM, if needed, once you get near Santa Clarita, have breakfast if you are lucky enough to not hit any traffic (the ride should be a minimum of 75 minutes if you follow the speed limit).
Make sure you are in line for the parking lot by 9 AM, to pay the toll, find a place to park, go to the ticket booths if needed (and you can buy the Flash Pass ticket at the same time), then go thru security and then get in line at the turnstiles.
If you already have a ticket, then you should have enough time if you go ride "X" first (if you are in line before the gates open) and they have the ride upand running at opening, then go back to grab a Flash Pass.
Thanks Darkbeer!!!!! I am think of buying 4 to 6 flash passes (since they are worth 4 rides each) for our family of four. Cost is not a factor since this will be a once in a blue moon visit for us, but I would pay anything to help out with long lines sooooooo are the flash passes useful???
Thanks

It depends, I get 1 set each time I visit (part of my Premium Season Pass) as does my girlfriend. We try and visit on slower days, but have used them on Tatsu (our main use), Goliath and others.
On a hot day and you want to cool off, using the Fastpass for the Roaring Rapids raft ride or other water ride can save a lot of time, as many others have the same idea.
