I changed my resort because I am not staying in a hotel that allows pets to board. I am paying for a hotel not pet housing. I guess people that love animals do NOT have a problem with that. I have a cat that I love to death but there is a place for animals, HOME! I am sure portofino is not losing money by me cancelling but I am glad I have a computer and got heads up before I had gotten there.

Gail T -
So they let dogs and cats stay in guest's rooms?
Can you request a room in the "pet free" zone?
Do they have a large grass area for exercising and/or allowing pets to relieve themselves?
Just curious - seems like a strange thing to allow in a resort hotel .......

it sure does seem strange coronamouseman. I called the hotel direct, teh manager, yes I talked to the manager said that pets are allowed in all rooms except concierge. That was ne hotel I didn't need concierge cause I have one day in universal and I didn't plan on being back in the room for snacks, water and whatever else they serve. oh wanna really laugh, they have special menu for the animals, Give me a break, it is a resort hotel not a motel 6.

Gail T -
Regarding the comment about Motel 6, the PBH probably thinks that their pet rules makes them a higher-end resort (especially for people who travel with their pets - I'm not one of those but there probably are some people who bring their pets wherever they go).
The thing that I find odd is that it sounds like the pet-friendly portion of the hotel is not separated from the other part - and that, as youi have pointed out, is not what I would expect or want as a guest in that hotel.
If the hotel is going to offer pet-friendly services, they should put them in a separate place.......

I think when reservations are about to be made they should notify people that is a "PET FRIENDLY" hotel. I think some, not all people would decide to stay away.:)

GT - Well, since one of my kids goes nuts with allergies to cat hair, I sure wouldn't want to have a room occupied the previous night by someone's cat .........
I guess one needs to ask to make sure if they are getting a non-smoking and non-pet friendly room at PBH
