Hello All! I will be visiting DL in April with my 3 year old. She isn't tall enough to enjoy several attractions and I've heard just a little about the kid-switch pass. I wasn't planning on going on anything that she couldn't, but I know in my excitement, I will have the overwhelming urge to ride, so....

Can anyone tell me how this pass works exactly?

Just the two of you? It won't work, you will need someone to "switch" with.

If you are traveling with another person who can watch her while you ride, here is the way it works:

If it is busy, and you are using it for rides offering FastPass, grab one. When it is time to use your FP, go up to the CM at the FP entrance, show your FP and ask for a Rider Switch Pass. When you get off the ride, you will give the Switch Pass to the other person and they will follow the instructions on the pass (usually use the FP queue or the ride exit). The beauty of using FP is that the other person can collect another FP at the same time with their ticket and you get double advantage.

If it is for a ride that doesn't offer FP, you still go to the CM at the queue entrance and ask for the rider switch pass, continue through the queue and ride, then give the pass to your switcher and they follow the instructions for the ride.

If there is more than one other person with you, the switchpass is good for up to two riders.

Another example of how this can work to the benefit of an older child... Sometimes I go with my daughter and son only. We have a service dog. My daughter and son ride while I hold the dog. When they come off, my son goes again riding with me.

Yes, it will be myself, my 3 year old, my 10 year old, and a 16 year old. So four altogether.

So if I want to ride, we get one rider switch pass, and 3 FPs? Then the 10y/o and 16y/o ride, using their FPs, while I wait, then myself and my 10y/o ride while the 16y/o waits? Is this correct? So it's pretty much like using the FP system, with the exception of one other person gets to go again w/o FP?

Yes, but you need one rider switch and TWO FPs.

So your 10-y/o and 16-/o ride, while you wait with your 3-y/o.

Then you and 10-y/o ride using the riders switch pass. The pass is good for 2 people so you do not need another FP for the 10-y/o.

Now. You can also consider this option: Your three-year-old will also have a ticket so you can actually get 4 FPs. If the 10-y/o and 16-y/o wanted to go back later - OR Everyone can go twice:

10-y/o 16-y/o use #1 and #2 FP.
You and 10-y/o use Child Swap.
You and 16-y/o use #3 and #4 FP.

Child Swap Passes are coded for the day you get them so if you're on a multi-day trip, don't save them for another day. You won't necessarily need to use them immediately but you will need to use them that day.

Thanks so much, Adriennek!! I think I've got it now! And that's great that we can double up on FP, I am sure 10 & 16 will certainly love that;) Now trying to arrange meet up times and places between all this will be the truly tricky part, hehehe!
