Not the kids, me! I never used to be like this before I had the kids, but now even the thought of going back to WDW gets me so emotional. I only went once, for one day, as a child, and this July will be my son's 3rd trip, my daughter's 2nd. She's going to be 3 and a half, and is totally into princesses, and everytime I think about her meeting Cinderella this summer, knowing how thrilled and excited she's going to be, I start crying. :crying: We just heard the Year of a Million Dreams Theme on Sorcerer Radio, and yep, I started crying. :crying:

So if you see a mom with 2 kids in the parks this July crying, that will be me. Aside from lots of Xanax, any ideas how I can keep my emotions in check? Or should I just go with it?

Go with it! It's joy, knowing the excitement and magic the kids are going to feel and experience....It's an awesome thing. Much like Christmas when you still believed in Santa, except that I'm 35 and Disney still allows me to believe!:D I can close my eyes and hear the music, smell the slightly damp musty smell of the POTC, that thrill just before the TOT drops, the cold draft when going into the Haunted House.... Oh dear God how am I gonna make it until November?!?!?? See what you have done, just when I had it almost under control.;)

I'm still trying to fight preggie hormones! I'm so emotional when I'm not preggo, the cry gets to be a bit much for the family when I am! But the best thing for you to do is just go with it. If it bothers the kids to see you crying, explain to them at an unemotional time that sometimes big people cry when they're happy and it's okay. (Like when Daddy get's Mommy orchestra seats for Wicked for her birthday!) That way, if the music gets you all choked up, you can go with it and the kids will understand!

We are going in March and each time I see the Disney logo or hear theme songs, I'm crying a happy cry. My husband and six year old think I'm nuts.

Aaah, such a wonderful feeling! LOVE IT!;)

I have no pg hormones right now, and we're not even going to Disney*world*, but those DW ads are getting me every time! Where the kids are sleeping and the parents are clicking away, seeing how relatively inexpensive a trip would be, and whatever is flying through the sky is getting closer and closer....

Just makes me well up. And I'm a RELUCTANT Disney fan! I'm still not totally settled with enjoying myself there as an adult (though I liked it as a kid). I can only imagine what those ads are doing to those who are 100%.

The ad also reminds me of my mom driving us back from an AZ trip...we'd been begging for Disney the whole time, and were so sad and quietly frantic as we saw the signs for Disneyland on the highway...we'd been told many times on that trip that it wasn't going to happen...and then suddenly we were turning in, stayed at Disneyland Hotel, got room service, the whole thing...they had it planned all along.

And I imagine little flying magical things getting closer to our car on that trip, like in the ad while they sleep...sniffle.

As for suggestions...I'm a proponent of showing your emotions (but not going wild with them, you don't want to scare the kids) and explaining your complicated feelings and so on.

Enjoy it!!!

And maybe once you get there, you will be so busy anyway, you won't be thinking as much. :)
