We are considering renting at least one stroller for our 5 year olds to take turns riding in. What is the best way to go about renting one? Are the lines horrendous first thing in the morning? Is it worth it to wait until mid-day to determine if one is needed and then hope for shorter lines in the afternoon? Where are the rental outlets located?
Thanks,
Amy

The lines can be bad first thing in the AM! I have an AP so I don't actually have to stand in line, but I didn't know that until I had waited in line once just after the parke opened and everyone else was there for their stollers. My advice, if you're going to follow the advice everyone else is giving you to go to Fantasyland first and enjoy the rides while those lines are short, then hold off on the stroller! Most of the time, we let the kids walk and push our stroller from one parking area to the next when we're there. At lunch, send one adult to get the stoller, the line will be much shorter if there is one at all. Also, bring along a ribbon or string to tie onto the stroller handle to easily identify yours among the sea of matching strollers! I have two thin strips of Tinker Bell fabric for my strollers and it really helps spot them in the crowd!

More info on this, please? If you have a AP you don't have to wait in line? I'd love some details on this!!

Sorry, I should have clarified on this... I have the stroller pass on my AP, we paid the $49 for unlimited stroller rentals. If you have this, you can bypass the line, walk right up to the CM passing out strollers, and they scan your card! No lines, no wait, just scan and go!

Is taking your own stroller an option. We have always taken ours and have never had a problem (knock wood). It might be nice to have, if nothing else to use a pack mule.

What we did was DH and the kids got in line for the gates. I got in line for the strollers. Got my stroller and met dh in the gate line. He was always near the front, and I think let someone go ahead of him one day so that I could maneuver my way through.
We got there within an hour of park opening each day. They were pretty good about trying to be ready to get us in and out. I used my Chase free rental. :)

you can rent them from the big Tomorrowland store, Star Trader ,in the back where Star Tours exits too.
especially convenient if riding the Monorail in (or even sometimes worth the walk to avoid the Main Street lines)

With the Disneyland "rewards" Visa card from Chase, you get free stroller rentals.
We've rented a stroller twice an hour or two after opening, and it's never been a problem. BUT we go in quieter months, mid-week, so that might be a big factor why there have always been strollers available. We just get it right at the entrance inside DL. Didn't even know there were other places to rent them!
