Would it be more popular and have a higher capacity?

Look at the Roller Soaker at Hershey Park? Is that not an ideal coaster type for a water park?

One of the new developments in some water parks is the addition of theme park style rides to add variety. So that got me to thinking that Raging Waters and other socal water parks should look into adding more actual rides.

Imagine a waterpark with attractions similar to Perilous Plunge/Tidal Wave/Jurrasic Park, Ripsaw Falls (IOA)/Log Flume, Roaring Rapids/Grizzly R., Poseidon, and the "interactive" Roller Soaker"!

Info on Poseidon: http://www.coasterforce.com/poseuropa.htm

This way, when guests get soaked, at least they are already in a waterpark in a bathing suit. Also, you can engineer the rides to soak people to a much greater degree. Imagine sitting in a Raging Water rapids ride passing through waterfalls, past geysers sending up massive sprays, past flash floods that poor into the raft, etc.

If a water park were to add such additions it would easily set itself apart the park from what is currently out there on the market.

My god, you have a great idea there! I would pay for something like that. At least you would know exactly to expect to get wet.

Personally, I have never understood the logic of being soaked to the bone in a theme park only to walk around dripping on everything. I don't mind getting splashed, but drenched is another matter. I would rather see the drenching water rides in water parks.

Anybody who goes on Perilous Plunge and then goes on Supreme Scream, will give the ride ops and the crowd a nice little shower. I just hope people are able to dry off before hitting the new coaster. Soaking wet people at 82 mph should be interesting to see.

I agree with DBJ - getting splashed with water is one thing but getting drenched makes no sense unless you are in a place that is extremely hot and you can expect reasonably to dry off .......

Let "water parks" be as they are, places where you get a locker and run around in swim trunks all day and let theme parks be as they are, where you might get splashed on but at least can walk around in your street clothes ..............

But then again, maybe that person who builds the kind of park being discussed will succeed because there is some portion of the population that wants that kind of thing ...........
