Jeneice Seagraves - August 2002 - All Star Music

Time of Year: Summer
Travel Method: Plane, shuttle
Resort: ASMuR
Accommodations: Standard Room
Ages Represented in Group: Elementary, Adult
WDW Experience Represented in Group: Veteran
Comments: When you're making your third trip to Disney World in the same year, apparently your extended family might start to wonder about you. But expiring annual passes and a business conference are all the excuse needed by Jeneice and her family to risk that familial doubt.

Jeneice Seagraves -- August 2002 -- Walt Disney World (ASMuR)

Cast of Characters

Jeneice- 37 Sales Manager and Disney Mom – 5th trip 9/87, 9/95, 9/01, 12/01
Glenn – 44 CFO 9/87, 9/95, 9/01, 12/01 and a few trips in the early ‘80’s
Alyssa Marie 5 years old - 3rd trip 9/01, 12/01
Previous trips to WDW:

September 1987 - Polynesian Resort
September 1995 – Caribbean Beach Resort
September 2001 – Port Orleans – Riverside
December 2001 – All Stars- Movies

Planning:
In September 2001 we purchased Premium Annual Passes for our family. Since this trip was 12 days long it was cost effective and if we got a chance to return it would be a great bonus. We returned 12/2001 for a seven-day trip due to a great airfare and room rate. (Report is to follow soon).

I am attending a Business Conference for Tupperware at Orange County Convention Center from August 19th to the 21st. So I thought lets go back one more time before our Annual Passports expire. My family was up for the trip. Actually Alyssa was ecstatic. Our friends and extended family think were crazy for going back again. But we love Walt Disney World. We plan on arriving Thursday the fifteenth and having a few days before the conference. While I’m at the conference Glenn and Alyssa will have some father/daughter time, and well have more time for fun as a family after the conference ends.

I made our airline and hotel reservations in May. We got airfare for $176.50 each on US Airways a direct flight. We received an Annual Pass Discount for the room. We found it in the Mickey Monitor Newsletter for Annual Pass holders. The code was CFQ. We decide since we been here already twice in the last 11 months we will stay at a value resort. We tried to book at the All-Star Movies but there were no rooms available under the CFQ discount code. So we decide on the All-Star Music. Since we’ve never stayed there. The rate including taxes $77.62. Not bad! Airfare and hotel reservations are complete. Check!

In planning our trip I researched with a book I’d never really used before, the PassPorter Walt Disney World 2002. This book was awesome. Lots of great information and resort maps, great for trip planning, and trip journaling. Of course I used the websites Mouseplanet.com, WDWIG.com and WDWINFO.com and Mousesavers. I never seem to get enough information.

I made some of our meal priority seating reservations. We did get the coveted

Princess Breakfast in the Castle, after three days of trying
Donald’s Breakfastasaurus in Animal Kingdom
O’Hana in the Polynesian
Princess Storybook breakfast in Norway
Hollywood and Vine at MGM
Kona Café at Polynesian
I made a surprise reservation at Chef Mickey’s for Glenn and Alyssa while I’m at my conference
As in our previous trips, I packed a bag with some staples. Peanut butter, bread, snack crackers, breakfast bars and cereal. We even remembered to pack the ponchos from our trip in ‘92 (Pocahontas).

On with the show:

Thursday, August 15th

Well it’s the morning so let the adventure begin. Our princess is out of sorts and tired, she was too excited to sleep last night. So she is no fun this morning. The dishwasher overflowed last night. So I was putting furniture back before leaving. We packed up and got on the road about 7:10. Oh no, turn around, I left the curling iron on and we wasted about ½ hour.

We arrive at the Valet service and I’m getting a little nervous. Our flight leaves at 9:35 and its now 8:20. Our driver, I don’t recall his name, drove a little crazy with my van. We checked our luggage curbside and proceeded to the e-ticket kiosks. Well I couldn’t get it to work and it was a zoo in there. I asked three different people for help. Finally finished we head for Security and breezed right through. P.S. A few weeks ago on our trip to Denver, they pulled my daughter and me aside and searched my sneakers and my camcorder bag.

Our flight was uneventful. We landed about 11:44, fifteen minutes early. But we arrived to a thunderstorm. We stopped and grabbed lunch at Big Apple Bagels. The food was pretty good. Two Turkey Club sandwiches and a bagel with butter for Alyssa, and two drinks $16.59. None of us ate breakfast today. And the pretzels and soda on the plane didn’t fill us!

Our luggage was delayed. Actually all airlines luggage was affected. Our Tiffany driver, Ines, met us at the bottom of the escalators and waited with us for the luggage. Finally we got the luggage and a quick stop at Pick and Save for water, milk and fruit and a Styrofoam cooler, we forgot our collapsible cooler.

Check-in:
We checked in about 2:00 and our request for Jazz non-smoking 1st floor was met. Beth at the all-stars took care of our check-in and was quick and polite. The room wasn’t ready. So we used a safe box at the front desk. We caught the bus to Magic Kingdom.

Welcome Home:

We arrived at the park at the end of the Share a Dream Parade. Then Alyssa and I split the Chicken Strips/fries at Columbia Harbor House with lemonade $10.86. We rode It’s a small World it was a bit crowded but we waited about 10 minutes. Alyssa loves this ride especially the Hawaiian Hula Dancers. We decide to ride Peter Pan – Stand by time 60 minutes but I thought the line looked short. We actually waited 30 minutes. This is adorable but I had trouble taking digital photos in here since it’s so dark. We were able to ride Snow White with about a four-minute wait. We got fast passes for Pooh. Next we went to Toon-Town, Alyssa wanted to see Minnie’s House. She loves it in here, any girl would. She wandered around and explored the furniture. Her favorite room is the kitchen; she likes the surprise in the oven and the microwave. And don’t forget the pots and pans.

Mickey’s House is next. She just looked here since the rooms are blocked you can’t interact. She did however like Mickey’s garden. She even had her picture taken in the Mickey Pumpkin Patch. We hung out in Donald boat minus the water just looking to see the Barnstormer. It kept braking down and Alyssa wanted to see what it did. I picked up cold water and we walked the back path to Tomorrowland ($2.50). It was actually a nice quiet walk.

I wanted to do Buzz Light Year so we all went. I told Alyssa she didn’t have to go on. But at the last minute I put her on the ride. After a little crying she liked it and realized it wasn’t scary. So maybe this is a pattern and she’ll try some more rides.

We rode the TTA. Alyssa liked this except for the dark period in Space Mountain. Now, back to Fantasyland to ride The Adventures of Pooh. This is too cute, I love to bounce with Tigger and float like were in a boat. We stopped in Sir Mickey’s and purchased a Penny Press wallet $6.36.

Glenn is hungry so we left him at Peco’s Bills to eat the chicken wrap, fries and drink $9.84. We head to Adventureland to ride Aladdin. There was a short wait for the ride and it was pretty hot with no wind at all. But when the ride was in motion the air was a welcome blast. Alyssa controlled the up/down and I myself worked the scarab to tilt the carpet. Yes we got wet, just a little but it felt great.

It was late so we staked out our spot for Spectromagic in front of Exposition Hall. This is one of my favorites. I think the lights look beautiful in the darkness. I took some great digital photos too. I ran to the Market House on Main Street to get pretzels for Alyssa to snack on during the parade.

We decide to call it a day, a long one and head to our resort.

We get our room number. Jazz Building room 9409 the room is nice but right outside our window is a huge icon that totally blocks any view. They’ll see if they can move us tomorrow. We can’t unpack I need to get my keys there in the safe box too. Remember if you use this box to store your valuables. You need to get in the check – in line again to access the contents.

I picked up a personal pizza for Alyssa and me to share $5.13. Use the lids - I burned the inside of my hand when it slid. Well I got the cooler in order, showered and typed this report. It’s off to bed.

Alyssa’s Magical Moment
Buzz Light Year she said I want to ride again.
Weather: HOT 90’s

Friday, August 16th
MGM. Hoop De Doo Revue

Today started with a wake-up call from Stitch inviting us to stop by the Studios to see him. It’s a cute message; I’ll let Alyssa hear it tomorrow. We had a message to call Matt about our room. They’ll move our luggage while were at the park. Well be in Calypso and upgrade facing the pool non-smoking 2nd floor. We didn’t complain. Since it was an upgrade facing the pool. The second floor was a little hard with the stroller.

So were off to MGM and we arrive at 9:00 am the crowds aren’t too bad. It is hot already today. We stop at Starring Rolls for a quick bite. Total $9.91, Alyssa and I shared the hug chocolate chip muffin and Glenn had a bagel and juice, milk and soda. I dash to Tower of Terror to pick up fast passes. Then we ride the Rock and Roll Roller Coaster doing the Kid Swap. The take off at the beginning is great it feels as if my stomach takes a while to catch up. But I love it. Alyssa has found out about the penny presses in the park. In RRR gift shop we found a penny press. The CM at the register let us buy a roll of new pennies. They look really nice with the new pennies. We’ve been here two days and Alyssa already has about fifteen pressed coins. She loves to find the machines. We picked up a list at Guest Relations of the coin presses at parks and resorts.

Our fast pass time is NOW. We switch off again. My ride was excellent with many drops. I didn’t count but we were airborne many times. I was in a row with all single riders and we had a blast. We couldn’t stop laughing. I met Alyssa and Glenn in the Animation Courtyard. Just as Playhouse Disney was being let in and we sat on the left side front. I recommend sitting back a little with your kids because it can be difficult to see at some points in the show. This is a must see for all kids. It’s an interactive show with dancing, clapping, twirling and the Bear Cha- Cha-Cha. And its nice and cool Mom & Dad get a rest too.

Our next stop follow the footprints – Stitch that is to the left inside the Animation Courtyard. We were waiting in line to see Lilo. She took a cookie and drink break and returned with Stitch. All the parents in line were singing along to the Elvis tunes and the kids too! Lilo and stitch were very playful and mischievous with the kids. They were cleaning ears, pulling off hair bands and trying to grab the autograph book. It was a cute picture set up on the beach with a partially eaten surfboard. My daughter even did the Hula dance for Lilo and Stitch. It started to drizzle and we headed for the shop Animation Courtyard Shop to stay dry and get another Coin!!

Yeah it was just a quick rain shower and the sun is out. We head for the Little Mermaid hoping we can squeeze in the 12:30 show. We did and it was so cool, I mean really the cool rain was great. Okay, the show was really cute too! This is still a favorite in our daughter’s eyes.

We start to head to the Backlot Express and duck into Drew Carey exhibit. Get it duck, it’s raining – no correction pouring. We hang out for a little bit - enjoying the special effects and getting a chance to try them ourselves. We did the Snow White voice over and the Sleepy Hollow sounds with a coconut.

It’s still raining so we walk fast to the Backlot Express and its not crowded at all. We order two Grilled Chicken Caesar Salads and sodas and the Child’s Meal deal for Alyssa with a little plastic tote total $22.85. The salads were really good and fresh. Alyssa actually ate the entire kid’s meal. After lunch we just wandered and enjoyed the water getting squirted at Star Wars. We even took a picture on the Jedi Bike. Saw Jesse off to the side of Al’s Toy Barn. When we saw her we said there is Jesse get in line – it was a small line. We laughed too because everyone who saw her kind of whispered there’s Jesse, so as not to draw a huge crowd. I got hubby to hold onto the singing in the rain umbrella but it wasn’t working. We took the picture anyway. Oh well I’m going to try to get him to try some soda at the Ice Station Cool!!!!

More pictures under the steamroller and with the flick statue. Its so hot we decide were going to leave after the 2:30 SHOW of Beauty and the Beast. This was a mobbed show. I moved in the beginning of the show. There are to many hats in the way to get pictures. Anyway the crazy battery dies after two pictures.

The pre - show was so entertaining, I think four for a Dollar have some great voices and are funny too- although Alyssa couldn’t wait for the real BB show. She loves this movie. We’ve seen it on video numerous times. We also saw it on the big screen three times. She was Belle last Halloween. Enough said this is her all time favorite show. She sang along to all the songs. We were about the last people to leave as she decided to dance in the row and sing to the theme song.

We slowly walked through all the stores on Sunset Blvd. Picking up a few pressed pennies along the way. And looking at a few souvenirs we’d like to purchase. We bought Alyssa a new silver Mickey Mouse ring with the crystals $18.02. We purchased one at MK in December 2001. But the crystals fell out one by one and we couldn’t find it to return. I’m sure I’ll find it when I return home. (Of course we did)

Well we made it to the bus stop, first in the line and the bus arrived shortly after. We stopped at the front desk to get our new room keys. I also picked up our Hoop De Doo Tickets. The girl at the desk had a little trouble. Seems my reservation got cancelled and they had to call Pioneer Hall to reinstate the reservation. They had to process the charge a separate way to charge it to my room. Well it took a while. But we soon made it to our new room 1508 and unpacked. We enjoyed the pool for a little while. Then we showered and headed over to the Magic Kingdom and onto the Boat to Fort Wilderness. The trip took about forty minutes since the boat was there when we arrived. We check – in and wait to be let in for the show. We were going to be put upstairs but they wound up giving us a seat in the back of the room with chair stools.

The view was still good from the back of the room. The food was pretty good. We especially liked the chicken. The show was corny but funny. Alyssa enjoyed the show too. She thought sixpence was so funny. She laughed the entire show. She enjoyed the clapping, foot stomping, singing, and the jokes. The washboard was a big hit except she thought she got to keep it. She loved getting up to dance too. One of the cast members came back and danced with Alyssa. She had red hair and braids. Alyssa sang the Hoop-De-Doo song for the rest of the night.

Singing and dancing - so cute. Family Time Precious - Tickets for three including tip $108.36 priceless. We hadn’t been to the Hoop-De-Doo since 1987. It is an enjoyable show everyone should try it, at least once.

On the return boat trip we got to see the Water Parade from our boat. Then we went to Magic Kingdom for a quick bathroom break, and to see the Fireworks. We watched from the beginning of Main Street. We didn’t want to leave with the rush of crowds so we looked at the story windows in the Emporium and read each of the stories. There were six of them a shortened version of our nightly reading. Head back to the Hotel for bedtime. We have an early day tomorrow. I buy my All Star Mug and get a drink $10.69. Type up my report and get to bed.

Saturday, August 17th
Princess Story Book Princess (Akershus)
Epcot

Our wake – up call came at 7:00 and I woke Alyssa and put it to her ear. She likes this and has requested we check everyday to see if it’s Stitch!

We had a slow start someone was still tired and it wasn’t the Mom and Dad. Glenn woke up at 5:30 this morning he couldn’t sleep. We made it to the bus by 7:45 and caught the bus within a few minutes.

We arrived quickly and our names were checked off at the security table. We proceeded through Future World and at the fountain a CM checked our names again. Wow this was a hike to Norway for breakfast. We forgot to bring the stroller. Our priority seating was for 8:40 we checked in and were seated in five minutes. Take your time checking in as they seat you from the front of the restaurant to the front to the rear. It’s better to be in the middle or in the end. The lighting was a bit dim for picture taking and it was tight to visit with the Princesses. The food was great. Danish muffins, fresh cantaloupe and strawberries were on the table upon arrival. Then drinks were ordered and a skillet arrived with scrabbled eggs, French-toast sticks, bacon, sausage patties and potatoes. We sat in the front of the restaurant on the left as you enter all the way back. There was a Cast Member entrance two tables from us. Snow White, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), Belle, Mary Poppins and Jasmine were the princesses in attendance and we saw them in the beginning. They gave autographs, and had pictures taken with each table. It was nicely done. Glenn had his picture taken with Jasmine also.

I noticed a CM speaking to people at a few other tables. She spoke to us and told us her name was Dora. Alyssa was dressed as Belle. She told her she looked beautiful and asked us if she could take her picture. She wanted to show it to the Managers since this breakfast was in the test stage. She said that she loves to take pictures for them to see since they aren’t at the breakfast. We said of course and we really enjoyed the breakfast. We would do the breakfast again. $53.43 including tip. Our favorite is still the Princess breakfast in the Castle.

Fast Pass for Test Track with a return time of 10:50 – 11:50.

Glenn used the single rider line and I waited in the General Motors Car Demo area. Alyssa liked the van with the television. Then we headed to the back for the kid swap. This was pretty quick. I enjoyed the ride. Even though this is our third trip this year we never rode Test Track. It’s a blast when you fly outside. This ride kills a good hair day but it is worth it. After the ride we stopped at the fountain near the rest rooms. A GM representative found us we had lost the gloves to Alyssa’s Belle dress. She was kind enough to return them to us. They get an A+ for the Disney service. Later my husband told me a women in a GM sweater ask for the kids who were in the car watching television that they had to come out and let other people check out the feature.

We hung at Wonders of Life. We saw the Making of Me film. It is so cute, even Alyssa enjoyed this simple explanation. No questions afterward, Whoa. We played on the exercise bikes. There were quite a few broken. The earphones where you listen to the sound effects were interesting. I headed off to Spaceship Earth to get a stroller. It’s a hike so get it before breakfast $8.00. Glenn and Alyssa went to Cranium Command. She liked it except for the Sargent yelling.

Glenn went back to do the Fastpass for Test Track and Alyssa and I went to Innoventions East. I gave away the other Fastpass to a more than willing parent. Innoventions has these little robotic dogs that Alyssa really liked watching. The recycling game on the computer kept her busy for a while too.

We stopped at Horizons and waited about 10 minutes in the searing sun. We let Alyssa use her mini flashlight in the dark. We all enjoyed this cool dark ride. Alyssa even enjoyed the dinosaurs she thought they smelled though.

We head over to Ice Station Cool. All right the cool air felt great. But the Arctic blast was unbelievably cold. I told hubby to try Beverly. He did but he said, “Oh I read your report about how you were going to trick me.” But he was a sport and tried it anyway. I think this was a favorite stop for him he was trying every soda.

We head back to the Electric Umbrella for lunch. Glenn wants to go to Mexico to eat. I would like to hear the Mariachi Cobra. Well Alyssa and I ate at the Electric Umbrella. We had Pizza, soda, chicken strips and lemonade $17.02. We head over to the Passholder lounge and check-in. We take the elevator. The upstairs is in the shape of a Mickey Ear. The place was really crowded. There was complimentary water and soft drinks. We sat on the comfy sofa for a little while. The Children’s area was crowded with kids and adults. We left and decided to head back to the Hotel, it was just to hot. I also needed to pick up my rental car at Budget. They were picking me up at 4:00pm.

I was picked up and taken to the Double Tree Suites at Lake Buena Vista. The pick-up was quick. I did go back in with the car report of damages. They didn’t explain it to me but I didn’t want to pay for nicks and dents. It was a red Hyundai Accent with only about 2,000 miles on it. Wow we’ve been to WDW four times without a car. This is going to be a good test as to the need for a car and the convenience.

Alyssa and Glenn went swimming. I looked around for a little while at the resort. The Country Fair was interesting the Cowboy boots were huge. The Broadway Building looked manicured and the hats were interesting. Theses people do have a longer walk to the food court though. The Piano pool did not have a lifeguard stationed. When my family swam. But there were always guards at the larger Guitar Pool near the food court.

We all showered, dressed and drove the car to the Boardwalk. We said we were there to check out the resort and they told us where to park and we did walk around the resort later. We took the boat into Epcot. It was so easy and a short ride.

We visited the United Kingdom first and purchased Alyssa a Passport $10.55. She colored her mask and had her Passport stamped. Tom wrote her a little note. Welcome to the United Kingdom home of Harry Potter. Enjoy the rest of your stay. Then we went to Morocco in search of Jasmine and Aladdin. She was in the back and only one child was there. So we were next. She really took a lot of time with Alyssa chatting and taking pictures too!

Kidcot was right there and they were out of beads but stamped her Passport Nora wrote her name in Moroccan. We visited France next. Alyssa wanted to paint another mask because they had paints instead of Markers. Frederic was a very nice cast member he was sweet to Alyssa and was speaking French and she spoke a bit back to him. My name is Alyssa. Thank you very much. I believe having the Kidcot stops and the Passport really helped Alyssa want to visit each country.

We stopped to watch the Imaginum - A Statue Act in France. It was funny to watch the statue move. He was great! When it was our turn he just stood there but when my husband and daughter went up again. He grabbed his shirt and wouldn’t let it go. This had the crowd roaring. I did get this on video and digital photo. Next we went to the American Adventure to get Alyssa dinner. We watched the Tapestry of Dreams Parade. We had never seen this before. Alyssa turned in her dream coins at the end. Then we picked up food at the Liberty Inn. Chicken fingers, fries and lemonade in a Lilo cup $12.03. We went to Italy to watch Illuminations. I quickly hiked over to China to the Lotus Blossom Café for pork-fried rice, kids meal sweet and sour chicken and two drinks $. I know I should have gone to Japan. By the time I returned Glenn lost our spot. So we walked back to the bridge near the International gateway and ate. We watched Illuminations and I returned the stroller ($1 refund) and made the first boat back to the Boardwalk. It was quick and we would have walked if we had our own stroller.

We decided to rent a Surrey for a ride around the lake $18.00. This is something Alyssa wanted to do on previous trips and we finally went ahead. She immensely enjoyed ringing the bell to alert people of our whereabouts. We did stop and Alyssa and I looked around Storm Along Bay. I would love to stay at the Beach Club.

We returned to the Boardwalk. We only went around once and the last hill is a little tough. We returned to our resort around 10:30.

Alyssa’s Magical Moment
This is the best Storybook breakfast I been too.
Weather: Hot oppressive 93 heat index 100+

Sunday, August 18th
Animal Kingdom, Donald’s Breakfastasaurus, Animal Kingdom Lodge

We were all tired and the wake-up call came at 7:50. We were ready and out of the room at 8:50. We arrived at the Animal Kingdom by car and parked in the Unicorn 21 – 29 sections. We took the tram to the park. Cleared security and entered the park and made our way to Africa for Fastpass to Kilimanjaro Safaris. We stopped at the Tusker house to cool off. The walk Africa had us looking wiped out already. We head over to DinoLand U.S.A for our 10:20 Priority Seating and check-in. We also had our picture taken. You wait outside on the porch for your name to be called. We were seated ahead of two groups because their parties were not all there. Thanks they got us out of the heat.

On the buffet were fresh fruit, cereal, milk, donuts, and a variety of muffins. On the hot buffet sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, pancakes, apple cobbler, breakfast pizza, potatoes, blueberry pancakes I think that was everything. Juice is on your table with a caddy that has silverware, napkins, and crayons.

Our server was Neil he was very attentive. He told us when each character would be around. He took pictures of all of us with the characters. He was a joker and the other server I can’t remember his name was his partner in crime with water pistols and gag cameras. He’d been with WDW for eighteen years. He also told us that Donald’s Breakfast is the most coveted place to work along with the California Grill. Because of the amount of seating they do. He was very pleasant to speak with. Breakfast $53.31 including tip. Definitely worth another visit.

We returned to Africa for our Safari. We saw many animals even in the heat. Hippos, Bongos, alligators, elephants, warthogs, sleeping lion, cheetah, giraffes, gazelles and some I can’t remember. We did have a few zebras run across the rode. I think our driver’s name was Christy. She gave lots of information about the animals and how much they eat. She even gave us a quiz at the end.

Next was the Pagani trail, we saw a few of the Gorillas some beautiful birds and fish too. We really walked fast to get out of the heat.

We went straight to Asia to get Fastpasses for Kali River. While waiting we saw the Flights of Wonder show at 1:00 p.m. The birds are interesting and it was also educational. After the show we went to redeem our Fastpass. We brought Alyssa with us. She resisted a bit. She even cried. I know you feel bad now. But we found out that if we get her on the rides she actually loves them. We were all joking on the ride about who would get wet. She did get a bit wet but loved it. She wanted to ride again. Even Glenn and I didn’t get soaked just a bit wet. The other people got soaked. We stopped at a little cart and got a huge pretzel for Alyssa and two Frozen Lemon drinks with the cutest Mickey Safari straw spoon $10.60 priceless in the heat.

We purchased batteries at the Mandala gifts $3.45 2 –AA. Off to DinoLand Alyssa and I rode Triceri Tops Spin. One was broken. Alyssa rode in the front and me in the back. We didn’t realize it’s the back that makes you go up and down. Glenn returned with the FP and we played some games. Glenn won a dinosaur in the water target race. And I won the wack-a-dino game playing with Alyssa and I holding onto the hammer. There was a neat little cart all decorated in that section so we took some pictures.

We visited the Pizzafari Passholder lounge for Annual Passholders it was not air-conditioned. We walked through the restaurant and into the lounge and it seemed hot but the fans really did keep it cool. There was a Cast Member there. They had board games and outside patio sets with chairs. Alyssa loved playing Disney Sorry with Daddy. She enjoyed the Whack A Alien game. We got reserved seating for the 3:45 Legend of the Lion King. They put you in three rows in the Warthog section. I asked to move when all the people arrived and she moved us up front and another CM moved us to the other side in the second row. The show was excellent as always. Alyssa was wishing to get picked this time, but to no avail. The only thing was some of the cast members were talking during the show to each other when they sat on the Giraffe. I had never seen them do that.

Back track to DinoLand for our Dinosaur ride. We all walked through and saw the movie and them I rode first and Glenn swapped. Alyssa played with all the dinosaurs in the gift shop. I rode again quickly and Glenn went to ride one more time before the park closed. It was raining a lot and the stroller got soaked so we waited a little while. It was 5:45 by the time we boarded the tram. Once reason I love WDW transportation avoid the trams.

We drove to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This resort is breath taking and rustic. We walked around the lobby and fire pit outside and looked at the animals. Boma was mobbed as we walked by and Glenn said were not eating in there. We were pretty sad looking after a day at Animal Kingdom, and we needed to be dressed a little nicer to go there.

We ate dinner at Mara. I was going to try the sugar cane chicken but I chickened out. Glenn and I both had the grilled chicken sandwich, PowerAde, soda and Alyssa had pizza and chocolate milk $26.34. A cast member takes your order. You get your drinks and pay you get a number to take to your table and they deliver your food.

The television was a great diversion with cartoons on Alyssa ate even faster. We wandered around the pool area. The slide looked neat. Alyssa took off her shoes and wet her feet in the zero entry part of the pool. She also played for a little in the kid’s playground. The rubber bottom in the playground was soft but it looked like mulch. This resort is beautiful and we enjoyed looking around.

We returned to our resort. Glenn and Alyssa went to Maestro Mickey’s to get a new pressed Penny holder. We have already filled one. This is Alyssa’s new favorite pastime, finding the machine. Glenn also got a hat with a flag Mickey and another autograph book for Alyssa. We returned to our hotel for bath and an early bedtime for Alyssa. I caught up on my trip report and did three loads of wash for $14.00 and I even brought the tide and Downey from home. Well its 1:30 a.m. and I’m going to bed for an early breakfast and onto my conference.

I’ll have hubby do the trip report while I’m at my conference.

Alyssa Magical Moment
Kali River Rapids and getting wet
Weather: In the 90’ s too hot for me

Monday, August 19th
Cinderella’s Royal Table, Magic Kingdom
Return to Hotel and get ready for Conference

Our reservations are for 8:25. So we decided to drive to the Magic Kingdom. We drove to the parking lot and were in the first row. I asked what time the parking lot opened and was told 7:00 a.m. Wow what can you do for all that time until the park opens. We walked over to the Transportation and Ticket it was a short walk. They let you on the monorail only if you had breakfast reservations at Magic Kingdom. Other people were sitting on the benches waiting.

At MK there was another check from a list to see if you had Priority Seating. There were quite a few people going through security and into the park. The crane was out on the right side hovering over the castle. I’m glad we got a few shots before they did that. We had our picture taken and headed for the castle. Guess what they had my Priority Seating for 8:30 not 8:25. I know I had the correct time. We got Alyssa dressed as Cinderella and went upstairs. We were seated on the far left side upper level. All window seats were taken. Our server started out a bit slow. The others seated after us had their rolls and drinks already. She did get with the program though.

The characters started visiting right after the food was served, so it did get cold. Cinderella, Snow White, Aladdin, Belle and then Sleeping Beauty visited in that order. They visited one right after the other, quickly. We’ve been here before and sat center bottom. And the characters seemed to go a little slower. The food was good. My favorite the French toast. Alyssa’s favorite was the chocolate muffins. Our server brought out two more and we saved one for later as a snack. Bill including tip $51.31. They bring the bill with total and say they’ll deduct your advance deposit. You add tip and they deduct your deposit.

We headed out into Fantasyland. Everything had short waits so we rode. Snow White’s Scary Adventure, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, and It’s a Small World. I met a nice woman from Florida and we got to chat. Glenn went to get Fast Pass for Space Mountain. Alyssa and I rode the Carousel while Glenn returned and waited in line for Dumbo. We hopped in line with Glenn for Dumbo. Then we headed to Tomorroland. We picked up Buzz FASTPASSES for Buzz Light year and rode Space Mountain doing Kid Swap FASTPASS. It had broken down for a while. Alyssa is going on Buzz Light year again. She is excited and wants to beat Mom and Dad’s score. So we head inside. Alyssa scores? , Glenn scores? , and I score 59,000 points. Yeah Mom wins one. I really did win I just don’t remember the scores for Glenn and Alyssa.

I shopped for a friend and picked up a Simba stuffed animal and the set of Lion King figures for her son Ben while Glenn and Alyssa rode Aladdin’s Magic Carpet. We passed the Jungle Cruise the line was to long. But we did Pirates of the Caribbean. Alyssa remembered the small drop. She was a little nervous but used her tiny flashlight pointed to the floor for a little light. We decide to head back to the room.

Alyssa enjoyed the down time to watch television in the room. I head out at 3:00 for my conference. I would really like to stay and play but work calls.

Glenn and Alyssa went swimming. The pool was closed for about an hour for thunderstorm activity. They had dinner at the food court. Glenn had Quesadilla Chicken and Alyssa had children’s chicken strips with chocolate milk, total $13.24. They headed over to MGM Studios Fantasmic. They stood in the last section on the left. Standing room only.

Alyssa’s Magical Moment
Breakfast with the Princesses in the Castle
Weather: Too hot

Tuesday, August 20th
Blizzard Beach, Dinner at Chef Mickey’s

Glenn and Alyssa spent the day at Blizzard Beach. This is Glenn’s favorite. In the afternoon there was a thunderstorm and everything was closed for about an hour. Even though the sun was out. They had a fun time.

They ate lunch at Lottawatta Lodge. Glenn had the Chicken Wrap Combo with potato salad and Alyssa had, yup you guessed it chicken kids meal with fries including drinks $14.62.

They head back to the resort to get ready for Chef Mickey’s. They had a nice dinner together. They saw the Characters, Goofy, Donald Duck, Chip and Mickey. They never saw Dale. Total $39.00 including tip.

They bought the Chef Mickey picture and it turned out cute. We’ve been there twice all together but the picture never turned out.

I left at 7:30 a.m. and returned about 11:30 p.m. Hey anyone who is going to the Orange County Convention Center, put on your jogging shoes, everything is a hike. Even the hotel everyone was staying at, The Rosen Centre was right next-door. The walk was at least 1 ½ miles to cross the street and get to the main convention room. Well it felt like forever.

I stopped for a few groceries at Goodings Market. I picked up water, juice, donuts, chips and a pack of Seagrams Coolers. I also purchased Band-Aids $32.49. Good location but expensive.

Wednesday, August 21st

Epcot, Dinner at Spoodles - Boardwalk

Our plan was to meet at Epcot after the convention ended at 1:00 p.m.

Glenn and Alyssa spent the morning at Disney Studios. They ate at All Stars food court. They went see Beauty and the Beast twice and Hunchback of Notre Dame and Voyage of the Little Mermaid. They got water and a pretzel to snack on $5.57. They had lunch at the Backlot Express, Cheeseburger Meal and Children’s Chicken meal with the little case. Okay now we have two. Total with drinks $13.54.

I couldn’t wait to get back to the resort. Our distributors treated us to a buffet lunch at the Rosen. I actually changed my clothes in the parking garage. I hope there went any cameras. Then I picked up two co-workers and dropped them off to rent a car near Universal. They needed to drive to Tampa to catch a flight. They were flying stand by and the two flights were booked out of Orlando to Philadelphia.

I parked in 52 Music lot I can’t forget that. I joined Glenn and Alyssa and we decided to stay at the Studios for Fantasmic. We went to see the Muppets 3D and we explained a little more to Alyssa about the show. She was great and really enjoyed the show this time. We also gave her $2 Disney Dollars to try the show. I know bribery but it worked. It was fun to just enjoy the show all together.

Glenn purchased some new batteries, $7.95. The ones in the digital camera died. Guess we should have brought spares. The camera is new and we’re still learning about it.

We saw the last show of the day for Hunchback of Notre Dame. Then it was raining again. We tried to watch the parade but it was canceled due to a huge storm. We did buy Alyssa a poncho for $5 we have our old Pocahontas from seven years ago. So we went on Muppets 3D again at Alyssa’s request. We head over to the Arena to see if Fantasmic is on and were let into the Arena at 7:25 for the 8:00 show. We were seated in the center close to the bottom. We had great seats.

It was after 8:00 and when the show didn’t start my husband did not realize the show was at 8:30. The stadium was totally full. I did get a hot pretzel from the vendor and coke $5.50. This is dinner for now. It was a good show, the wind was blowing and at times you couldn’t see. The boat carrying Belle and the Beast hit the front of the Stage and they kept their balance and it hit two more times before it could pull away from the front. I thought the Snow White and the Prince float were going to hit B & B. We’d never seen that happen before and the characters did a wonderful job of staying on their feet. Also on the Indian Float one of the torches didn’t light. And when Mickey does battle only the flames on the right side lit up. Nothing lit on the left side. Well that wasn’t the best now that I thought of it. But at least we’ve seen it at its best.

I grabbed a caramel, chocolate and toffee covered apple yummy! $5.00

We got to the car quickly and back to our resort. I took a quick trip to Downtown Disney to see the Once upon a dream toy store. This place is heaven. I could spend lots of money here. I also visited the World of Disney Store and purchased two CD’s. They were the 100 Years of Magic and the Parade Music. I purchased a Minnie and Mickey beanie baby and my favorite bag of chocolate covered pretzels and a Sorcerer Mickey for Alyssa.

I head back and a wonderful CM at the food court Emily got me a Meatball Sub ($5.81). She also shared lots of information about the food at Downtown Disney. She was just so helpful.

We never made it to Spoodles, well maybe next time.

Alyssa’s Magical Moment
Mommy was finished her conference. She missed me!
Weather: Hot and Stormy

Thursday, August 22nd
Breakfast at Kona Café, Typhoon Lagoon, and dinner at O’Hana

We cancelled breakfast, no Tonga-toast for me, and decided to eat at the food court. I had the French toast, a breakfast sandwich for Glenn and Chocolate milk and pancakes for Alyssa total $15.04.

We drove to Blizzard Beach and we parked in the front row and arrived shortly after opening. They were selling the large refillable mugs we passed. We head straight for Tykes Peak and get a picnic table under a pavilion. Alyssa enjoys this area and we find out the video camera won’t work. It was fogged up. The tape was new but the insides were pulled apart. Glenn purchased another one for $6.47 and it still wouldn’t work. A little later it did. We think it was that the cold water in our bag that affected the camera. We wont do that again.

We enjoyed Teamboat Springs, we walked, and this is our favorite family raft ride. Better then Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown and Eliches Six Flaggs of Denver.

We did the Toboggan Racers about three or four times. These are lots of fun and Glenn and I did the Snow Stormers too. Cross Country Creek is a riot. Alyssa’s favorite part is the Echo House. She loves to get sneezed on. Now she even pops in and out of the float and swims around too.

We rode Teamboat Springs again but took the Ski Lift this time. Glenn rode the Downhill Double Dipper, this is one of his favorites especially the quick drop. We went to Melt Away Bay while Glenn did his ride. We had fun bobbing in the pool and who do we see but Goofy in his swimsuit in the water. Glenn had the water camera with him. Alyssa hugged Goofy she was so excited. After a while I finally decided to go get the regular camera, since the CM said he would be there for another 10 minutes. I made it back for some great pictures. Goofy was the life of Melt Away Bay swimming all over the place and posing for pictures. The CM said Goofy comes out since Ice Gator doesn’t swim. He also told us that Goofy would be in the Ski Patrol Area at 12:30. Hey earlier I moved our stuff to a pavilion at Ski Patrol.

They announced that a storm was approaching and they may need to clear the pool. So get your groups together. It poured and they didn’t clear anything but we stayed out until it stopped. I went to get lunch at Avalunch and waited in a long line during the storm to find out they were out of meatball subs and Chicken Wraps but I got Glenn a snow cone it was huge for $3.00. We stopped at Beach Haus and purchased a photo for $13.73 on Teamboat Springs.

The sun didn’t come out but we rode the Creek again and the Runoff Rapids three for Glenn and Alyssa two times for me. We took turns riding double with Alyssa. She enjoyed these and laughed and screamed the entire time. On the second time with her she jumped out and tipped me out of the boat too.

We head back to get ready for O’Hana. We drove over and were given a three-hour parking pass. Our reservations were for 6:50 p.m. We were seated to the left of the firepit by the windows. Great seats and I ordered Alyssa a chicken kids meal. I told them she would not be eating the O’Hana food. I had called ahead to see if this was okay and it was. The food was excellent and plentiful. Glenn and I had the Island Sunset drink yummy. My favorite was the salad in a honey lime dressing. They had Stir Fried Vegetables, Shrimp and Vegetable Wontons, Honey Coriander Chicken Wings and Vegetarian Stir Fried Rice on a Lazy Susan on the table. On skewers they had Grilled Tiger Shrimp, Marinated Sirloin Steak, Mesquite Seasoned Turkey Breast and Barbeque Pork Loin. Alyssa loved the coconut race with the brooms. And the gummy worm treat at the finish line too. She didn’t want to try to Hula Hoop but joined in and had a fun time. They played Hawaiian Roller Coaster ride while the kids did the hula. Great Night! Everyone should try this fun dinner. Total $88.59 including tip.

We drove to Downtown Disney to do a little shopping.

Alyssa used her Disney Money she saved to buy a Disney doll. We purchased a Sleeping Beauty outfit for her too. We picked up a Minnie and Mickey Stuffed Animal for our friends daughter. A Mulan pin for us too. We also purchased Beauty and the Beast on DVD they’ll ship it to us and we went to a special counter to get a BB pin. This took a while since I couldn’t find my Disney Club Card. But a Manager had the CM call and get my number for me. It saved 10%

Friday, August 23rd
SeaWorld Adventure Park

We arrived about 9:20 after stopping to purchase tickets at the Visitors Center $141.92. Buy these online at Seaworld.com and you save 10%. We paid $10 to park regular was $7. We paid for Shamu Parking and were in the second spot in front of the lighthouse. It was not even a minute walk and my feet needed a break.

We had a blast and did everything. The park was really empty. The Stingray Lagoon was neat. Alyssa enjoyed touching the rays but she said oh they’re slimy. The Dolphin Cove was the best. We purchased fish to feed the Dolphins. This area was crowded.

We pretty much followed the map around. Next Key West Fest to see the Dolphins. Manatees: The last generation?

We stopped for lunch at Mama Stella’s. An Ice Tea, Lemonade, two chicken sandwiches for the adults and breadsticks for Alyssa. Now Journey to Atlantis is such a cool ride. We rode this a few times today. Switching off Alyssa didn’t want to ride. We also rode Kraken. I only rode once but Glenn rode a few times. This is an awesome ride. But my neck was bothering me so I stopped.

The Penguin Encounter is my favorite. They guys are too cute and fast swimmers. The Pacific Point Preserve was loud. The Sea Lions were too funny begging for food and they got lots. Clyde and Seamore take Pirate Island is a really nice set, a ship. Do not miss this show it is really entertaining. The pre-show is too funny. The Shamu Adventure was great. We didn’t sit in the splash zone.

It was pretty hot so Alyssa put on her swimsuit and had a blast in Shamu’s Happy Harbor. She splashed in the car wash and climbed the nets. She got wet on the ship too. I got her dried and dressed in the bathroom in that area. The floor was a bit slippery. But it was air-conditioned and was a good place to get her dressed.

We also visited Wild Arctic. We avoided the simulation ride though. This was a neat walk through. They even had a cave the kids could crawl into. Alyssa tried but exited so quickly when she heard a polar bear noise.

We stayed until 6:00 p.m. We enjoyed most of the walk in attractions. We found out that the trams were not running today because of attendance. The park was pretty empty.

We had dinner at Denny’s on International Drive only $23 including tip. We all were stuffed and ate breakfast food.

I was so tired leaving the park today. But after dinner I was recharged. So we stopped at Coronado Springs Resort. They saw my All Star Pass and waved us through. I did have to go around twice. We were going to park in the room area but they are gated. You can only park in the very front for check-in or the Convention area.

We looked around the gift shop and food court. The gift shop had a cute table and chairs with crayons. A CM gave Alyssa two princess pictures to color while we browsed. She enjoyed just sitting and coloring. We checked out the food area then walked to the pool it took about 5 – 8 minutes. Wow we really liked the pool especially the slide and the huge Mayan Temple. Alyssa loved the kid’s playground. It was cool with a special mat on the whole area very rubbery. There were soccer nets for the pool and a basketball hoop to play with also. The bathrooms were real nice with showers too.

This resort had a lively feel to it. We would stay here. You could tell the difference in the resort amenities and the theme quality. It is very spread out but we would need to work out a great choice for a room request.

We head back to the hotel.

Alyssa’s Magical Moment
Clyde and Seamore Show
Hot again

The next three days I kept notes on paper and they were a bit sketchy on Saturday the 24th.

Saturday, August 24th
Epcot, Anniversary Dinner at Cinderella’s Royal Table

We did Spaceship Earth. Then we had breakfast in the land Food Court. We purchased a muffin, 2 cinnamon buns, large coke and milk total $10.23. It was okay they didn’t have a big selection though.

We did Food Rocks and a few other things and head for the Countries. We wanted to wander the countries and visit some things we didn’t do from the other day.

We just mainly visited the Kidcot Stops in Canada, USA, Japan and Italy and looked around the stores. In Japan we looked around and I was tempted to get a pearl for Alyssa. But decided she would appreciate it more when she is older. In Italy we had our pictures taken with people with gold faces. I don’t know what these characters were called.

Glenn went back to U.S.A. to see American Adventure. He really likes history. While Alyssa and I head toward Germany. We stopped to see Snow White and Dopey for pictures. The CM was so nice. Our film ran out after one picture so I stepped aside and changed film and they let us back in to take pictures.

In China Alyssa and I watched the acrobatics. It was so stinking hot. There wasn’t much shade either. I purchased a fan for $6.36. Glenn met back up with us. We stopped in Norway and purchased a boy Viking $10.60. We purchased a different one of these years ago and my hubby was real happy to find another one. We rode Maelstrom.

When we were exiting Epcot we purchased a Princess Peek-a Boo frame with Belle, Cinderella, Snow White and Little Mermaid on it and a picture taken near Space Ship Earth and had it sent to the hotel.

We then noticed Alyssa lost her fan. We couldn’t find it. We checked the store again. We called from out room and couldn’t track it down today. We’ll try tomorrow. Alyssa had pizza at the All Stars with Glenn, while I returned the rental car. We never did eat lunch.

We showered and dressed and left for the Magic Kingdom for our Anniversary Dinner. We had checked out the Never Land Club at the Polynesian but Alyssa didn’t want to go. It seemed nice but the ladies with the kids seemed a bit irritated with some of the children. Our reservations are for 7:05 we arrived a little early and were seated.

Our table was decorated with Mickey Mouse Confetti it was so cute. Glenn and I had Caesar side salads. Glenn has Salmon and I had the Risotto. Alyssa had the children’s chicken strips. I had a Raspberry Smoothie in a mug, yummy. Near the end of our meal our server brought out a box and we were given two champagne flutes for our anniversary. It was such a nice surprise. There were many people celebrating Anniversaries, Weddings too. There was a table of at least 12 near us celebrating their Wedding. We went outside about 8:15. I picked up my special mug downstairs already boxed (you get this with your Raspberry smoothie.

We watched the 8:30 SpectroMagic Parade and the 9:30 Fantasy in the Sky fireworks. We shopped until 10:00 p.m. I picked up a Character Tote for me and a Walt Disney Tote for my friend Donna who was cat sitting. $46.64. Then we returned to our resort.

Alyssa’s Magical Moment
Meeting Snow White and Dopey together
Weather, Hot 90’s

Sunday, August 25th
Animal Kingdom

We got ready and head out to the bus stop. The bus was coming so we went ahead and told Glenn we’d meet him at the Dig Site. Glenn went back to get the other battery.

We went through security and on the right side was Terk from Tarzan and a Duck. I can’t remember his name.

The dig site was pretty empty. So Alyssa and I played until Glenn arrived. He went and got F.P. for Kali River Rapids while we continued to play. The footprints make Dino roars. We rode Triceri Tops Spin too. We saw two dinosaurs and took pictures with them. Chester and Hester I suppose?

Onto Kilimanjaro Safari, we saw crocodile, Thomson’s Gazelles, Elephants and Hippos.

Breakfast? The cart outside of the Tusker House said they didn’t get any chocolate muffins today. We purchased the AK meal tickets $29.65 for two adults and one child.

Next we went to ITTBAB with Alyssa. Yeah! But most of the time she kept hiding behind the seat and popping her head up once in a while.

Back to Dino Land to ride Primeval Whirl. We did kid swap and it was interesting because the non-riding parties wait in a seating area that is cage in with a fence. Glenn thought the ride was jerky and he got tossed around a bit. I liked it except the twirling part.

We ate lunch at Pizzafari. Glenn had the Deluxe, I had the pepperoni and Alyssa had the Kids meal and three drinks. Total $20.52 we used the coupons.

Onto Kali River Rapids Alyssa wore the Poncho but Glenn and I we got very wet. We all took our shoes off and put them in the cargo storage area.

We went to the Passholder’s lounge and we called Epcot to see if anyone turned in Alyssa’s fan. I spent about 15 minutes on hold. To no avail it was not located.

On the way out I stopped at the Island Mercantile and purchased two Tinkerbell Notepads these are adorable and a Lite Pen. We also got our water, ice cream, and popcorn from our meal vouchers. Total was $35.52 value we only paid $29. 65. Savings of almost $6.00.

I wanted to see the Stars and Motor Cars Parade so we went to Disney MGM Studios.

I stopped in the Celebrity 5 & 10 and order a pink Mickey icon towel, washcloth and hand towel and had the towel and washcloth embroidered with Sleeping Beauty. This is a Christmas gift for Alyssa total $42.40.

Glenn purchased a Binford Tool Shirt for $20.00.

We took turns making our purchases and sat on the bench outside for about 40 minutes.

The streetmospere people were funny. They were asking for the names of the Lost Boys from Peter Pan. We helped the guy with some correct answers and some not so good answers.

Just as the parade was coming up the street a family came up and said “can you let my Mom sit she’s got a bad back”. My husband being the gentlemen gave up his seat. She said oh Thank you.

Rant - I really wasn’t angry at first until this ladies grandkids and family started to pile on the side next to her and squeeze us down the bench and sit right in front of our feet and hang on the back of the bench. They had a large group. If her Mom had a bad back get a wheelchair or send one of the large group to get to a bench early and wait for the parade like we did for forty minutes. Rant off!

Went to pick up the towels and the store was a bit crowded. I had Alyssa in her stroller off to the side. A lady actually kicked the stroller with Alyssa in it on purpose. I said pardon me you just kicked my daughter stroller and she said move it out of the way and just kept walking. I could not believe this persons behavior. Alyssa couldn’t understand why someone would just kick her and her stroller out of the way.

Glenn purchased a Sport Center hat he had been eyeing in the Once Upon a Disney Store.

We watched Fantasmic it was awesome as always. And went back to our resort.

We shopped at the Maestro Mickey and purchased a few things. A Sorcerer mug for home, eight packs of 100 yrs cards, chocolate pretzels, Little Mermaid figures for Alyssa-Christmas and a box of Mickey Mints for Glenn’s work. The damage was $68.91. Dinner was at the All Star Music food court at 10:10 p.m. Quesadilla Chicken for Glenn and Chicken Strips for Alyssa and I to split.

Everyone back to the room to start packing up. I kept packing while Glenn and Alyssa were asleep already.

Alyssa’s Magical Moment
Fantasmic
Weather, Hot 90’s

Sunday, August 26th
Magic Kingdom
Swimming at the resort, Tiffany Town car

Woke up at 7:30 am and finished packing including an extra bag. We left a message for our luggage to be picked up and held. We left the room at 9:10 am. We picked up a chocolate chip muffin for Alyssa. Caught the bus to the Magic Kingdom it was 9:30 and we arrived to mobs of people. We made a dash for security and the gate as much as one can dash on the 12th day of vacation.

On the bus I was stressing about being able to do some rides and Glenn laughed.

Glenn did the FASTPASS dash. While Alyssa and I rode Peter Pan. Glenn joins us and we rode for a second time. Snow White was next and Alyssa wanted to sit in front of the car by herself while Dad and I sat behind her. Getting Brave now!

Pooh was next with just a few minute wait. Over to Tomorrowland a thirty-minute wait for Grand Prix we passed.

We rode Buzz Light Year only a 10-minute wait. We went to Frontierland for Splash FP and detoured for Jungle Cruise FP. At Splash we turned in the Fast Pass and went in and they gave us a kid swap ticket good for three people. I go on quickly. I love the theming and music on this rides, and all the small hills leading up to the best. Next Glenn rode.

A quick ride on Pirates of Caribbean and we stopped and purchased a hook and shackles for Alyssa $4.72 a good dress up item at a good price.

Lunch was at Pecos’s Bills. Glenn and I had burgers and drinks $15.86 total. Alyssa wasn’t hungry from Breakfast.

We stopped in to see the Hall of Presidents. Then we dashed over to Frontierland to get a spot for the Parade. We sat on a porch stoop. The parade seemed short and this was a tight area to watch from. I grabbed Alyssa a chicken kids meal at the Columbia Harbor House. She ate while we waited for the parade. After the parade passed we took the short cut through Adventureland and back to Main Street. We stood in front of the Barber Shop and caught some of the parade again.

Good bye one last picture out front and back to the hotel. We picked up our bags in luggage storage. We packed two duffel bags with our suits and a change of clothes.

We swam from 4:30 – 6:00 pm. We showered in the Calypso Bathhouse. Bad Scene- There was a mess of towels all on the floor. I got Alyssa’s hair all soaped up only to find the hot water was gone. I called the front desk but no one came out to clean up or fix the water situation. So we finished our great vacation with a cold shower. Brrrrrrrr…….! We went and sat at the food court to wait for Tiffany Town Car. We purchased character cookies and a rice crispy treat to go.

Tiffany Town Car arrived and we loaded the car for a quick trip to the airport. The flight home was uneventful.

We arrived at Philadelphia International called for our car. They picked our luggage and us up. Back to Pacifico to pay and onto home.

Wow.

All Stars Music Resort

The resort was cute. It was a bit run down outside. There were lots of teens here too! Great Value but needs some maintenance. I would choose the All Star Movies next time for the Value and more small children. One day at the pool the lifeguards were playing some games with the kids. This was a plus too!

The food court was large and clean. The food was good there was a nice selection. It was very convenient to our room.

Helpful Hints
We packed a backpack everyday with water, snacks and lunch mostly for Alyssa. We also brought the small flashlight for dark rides. Bubbles to keep her busy and a little first aid kit. This was a big help! Bring your own stroller and save money and time. We saved $88.00 by bringing our own stroller. We rented one day only for $8.00 for a single. Bring breakfast bars, peanut butter and bread and snacks. You’ll save money. And you’ll have something when your kids are hungry. Use Fast Pass and Kid Swap (Switching off). Having the car was good to make it to our O’Hana dinner, SeaWorld and visit the Boardwalk and Coronado Springs and a quick ride to Downtown Disney. Its not necessary if you stay on site. But was nice to try.

Parks
We spent time in all the parks. We visited numerous times and even rode and visited our favorite attractions again and again. We were able to take breaks from the parks and swim. Alyssa loved park hopping and going back to the resort to swim. We only visited the Blizzard Beach, twice. We were able to visit a few other resorts the Contemporary, Polynesian, Coronado Springs and the Boardwalk. The parks were busy but not crowded. Weekends were much busier though.

Things we missed
We didn’t get to miniature golf at Winter Summerland. Even though we spent more time at Epcot we still missed some of the shows in World Showcase. We didn’t get to use the Kids Club. Didn’t get to eat at the Plaza Restaurant, Beaches and Cream, Spoodles or Mama Melrose’s. Ah there is always next time.

Trip in Review

This was a great trip. The weather was very hot. We got to try another resort and make family memories. I can’t wait to go back again! I have lots more on my to do list for WDW.

Just a note my husband kept trying to get online. Each time he dialed it was a $.75 cent charge. He racked up $15.00 in charges and never did get the connection. Oh well we lost $15.00 dollars.

Thanks for reading my report. I hope my trip report shared a bit of the Magic until you get to return!

Any questions email me.
