In my opinion, this issue of park safety could become a real plus for Disney in the long run if they correctly present a clear and definitive program to the public ........
Being able to advertise a program of safety which is unparalleled for its honesty and concern for the customers will be a big plus going forward ..........
I'll provide an example of how a big shift in public awareness can be used for marketing purposes - "freshness" coding on beer.
Back in the 70's, Coors was the only brewer of beer who had refrigerated trucks and who actively talked about freshness in their ads - Budweiser and other brands simply did all of their stock rotations and date checks without fanfare. Today, one would think t hat Budweiser had invented "freshness" dates on beer based upon their adverstising of the last several years.
The point is this - as concerns for safety arise and become more prevalent, if Disney could claim a leadership position in park safety standards and implementing park safety procedures, then they would stand to rise even more above other park operators.
I think we will see this a lot of talk about this in the near future ..........
