When we go in October the adults in the group would like to go out for one night w/o the kids and do something at the F&WF. My DD will be 11 and DS will be 8, I am not comfortable leaving them alone for hours in the room. Has anyone used the baby sitting service in their room? Or used one of the drop off programs? I don't think I would have the sitter take them any where out side of the hotel.
Any thoughts good or bad are greatly appreciated! :)

Haven't used the in-room services but both our DDs have been to the Neverland Club in the Poly, Cub's Den in WL & the Mouseketeer Club at GF (last time was last year when they were 7 & 11). All the facilities are great with lots to do; games, art/crafts, reading time, movies, toys, computers and a meal. Staff are very professional and look after the children well. Cub's Den has an outdoor area attached to the facility so kids can go in the sandbox if they like. Although the girls enjoyed all 3, the Neverland Club was their favourite; it seemed to be the biggest, had the most supervisors, best themed environment... My wife and I can truly relax and enjoy a nice meal and night out when we leave the girls at these places (they also give you a pager that works anywhere on WDW property in case they have to reach you; have never received a buzz though.)

We used the babysitting service when we were there for our dinner at V&A's. We were very happy with it. They can take the kids around the hotel grounds to the playground, or for ice cream (that's what our's did). They can even take them to the parks (of course, you gotta pay).

I think the two things they cannot do is take them in a car, or to the pool.

They will bring things for the kids to do, also.

The service was a little on the expensive side ($12/hr, plus a transportation fee ($10?), with a 4 hr minimum).

We had our sitter come about an hour before we had to leave so we and our daughter would get comfortable with them.

Of course, our experience was with a 2 1/2 year old.

I think if our daughter was older enough, we might have gone with the clubs that a previous poster mentioned. But we were very happy with the sitter, as well.

We've used both Fairy Godmothers and the kids clubs and for your kids, I'd suggest a kids club. We used Club Simba at the Animal Kingdom Lodge while we ate at Jiko and the kids loved it.

I found the web site for Kids Nite Out (http://www.kidsniteout.com/). It has a decent amount of info. This seems to be the one Disney recommends. Has any one used them?
I also just found this page at All Ears (http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/childfaq.htm).
